Chapter 360
Bride Behind The Mask
In the blink of an eye, it was time to leave.
Just like last time, Frederick personally dropped Teresa back at school.
As they were leaving, Yuna came up to them with a wide smile as soon as Frederick and Teresa stepped out of the door, âTeresa, come and play again next time.â
Teresa froze, her face contorting as she looked back at Yuna.
She found Yunaâs smile eerily unsettling, her gaze carrying a hint of intimidation.
Teresa was no fool, she knew Yuna was warning her! If she were to tell Hayesâ dad about what happened, he wouldnât let her visit the mansion again.
With resignation, Teresa managed to squeeze out a smile, waving goodbye to Yuna. âSee you.â
She hopped into the car with Frederick and they were soon at the kindergarten.
At that time, Marguerite hadnât arrived yet, so Teresa smartly pointed to the reception room.
âHayesâ dad, you can go. Iâll wait in the reception room. If mom sees us, weâll be caught.â
Frederick nodded, leading Teresa into the reception room. As he was about to leave, he turned back to look at her with concern. And there she was, staring at him with a look of hesitation on her face.
âSomething you want to say?â
Teresaâs little face was clouded with grievance, full of unspoken complaints.
She wanted to tell him, but the warning from Yuna held her back.
âThereâs nothing! You should go, Hayesâ dad. Mom will be here soon!â
Frederick finally left, but he didnât leave immediately. Instead, he parked his car in a corner from where he could watch covertly.
He waited until Margueriteâs car pulled up at the entrance and saw her taking Teresaâs hand before he finally drove away.
Inside the car, Teresa was visibly upset, pouting and crossing her arms as though she was sulking.
âWho upset my little princess?â Marguerite asked, glancing at Teresa in the rearâview mirror as she drove.
Teresa looked at her mother and asked indirectly, âMom, what would you do if someone bullied you?â
âIt depends.â
Teresaâs interest was piqued, âWhat does that mean?â
Marguerite thought for a while before answering, âIf they hurt you, you must stand up for yourself; if they are just trying to get attention, then it doesnât matter. Ignoring them is the best response.â
Marguerite would never teach Teresa to tolerate harm like her grandmother did. She wanted Teresa to learn how to protect herself.
Hearing her motherâs words, Teresa found herself in a dilemma. Clearly, Manley and Yuna had hurt Hayes, they abused him. But how could she fight back? She couldnât take on both of them! Even if she could fight them, they would still bully Hayes once she leaves.
âMom, if they hurt me, whatâs the best way to fight back?â
âFind their weakness. But Teresa, never fight back with the intention to hurt them. No hitting, okay?â
Teresa pondered. Weakness? Yunaâs weakness must be not wanting Hayesâ dad to find out she hit Hayes, right? But if she directly told Hayesâ dad, would he believe her?
No, she had to come up with a good plan.
Marguerite noticed Teresa deep in thought. She had a hunch that something was off with her today.
She instantly became alert and asked anxiously, âWhy are you asking this? Did someone at Taekwondo class bully you?â
Teresa was taken aback, she hadnât expected to be questioned like this.
She didnât go to a Taekwondo class, and if she told her mom she was being bullied, would she run off to talk to the class teacher?
Afraid of being found out, Teresa fibbed, âWe elected a group leader today, but one kid wasnât happy.
He wanted to be the leader too.â
âWhat did the coach say?â
