Chapter 499
Bride Behind The Mask
Teresaâs voice was quivering with rage as she stepped forward, her little fists clenched tight, and started pounding on Yunaâs body.
As she struck, tears streamed down her face. âYouâre so mean! How could you do this to Hayes? You donât deserve to be his mom!â
Her small fists kept hammering away at Yuna, all her might focused on getting justice for Hayes today.
Yuna was livid! She had never liked Teresa, and now all her pent-up anger erupted. She reached out and shoved Teresa in the chest.
The little girl, overwhelmed, staggered backward and fell to the ground with a thud.
Teresa cried out, âYou wicked woman! Youâve hurt Hayes, and now youâre picking on me! If Hayes knew how youâve been using him, heâd be heartbroken!â
âShut up!â Yunaâs voice was hysterical, her eyes wild and bulging.
Teresa was momentarily stunned.
Yuna grabbed Teresa by the collar, her voice venomous as she hissed, âListen to me! Iâm not using him! Hayes knows about the blood draw! He volunteered to give blood for Manley! He canât bear to see Manley suffer, so he offered to do it himself! Iâm warning you, this is family business. If you meddle again, do you believe I wonât end you?â
Teresa was too scared to speak, and Zoe, who was nearby, was equally terrified by Yunaâs malice.
She stepped forward, her voice low and cautionary, âWhat are you saying? Arenât you afraid sheâll tell Frederick?â Yuna turned away, her grip loosening involuntarily.
Seizing the moment, Teresa pushed Yuna off and retreated to a corner of the room, shaking in fear.
âKids who see things they shouldnât, need to be silenced.â Yuna sneered, then glanced at Zoe and motioned with her eyes, âDo you think Iâm going to let her go today?â
She didnât say it out loud, but Zoe understood the implication. She glanced at Teresa and pulled Yuna aside, âYou want her gone, fine. But think about it. If both kids disappear, Frederick and Maurice will investigate! With their resources, do you think they wonât trace it back to us?â
Yuna, blinded by anger, didnât care about the consequences, âShe has to die today!â
Her words had barely faded when Zoeâs phone suddenly buzzed. It was a text from the head of Hematology.
Zoe skimmed the message, her eyes revealing something Yuna couldnât decipher, âYou handle her gently, donât hurt her if possible! Iâll be right back!â And then, there were only Yuna and Teresa left in the room, with Hayes lying on the bed, his condition unknown.
Teresa was trembling, her sobs stuttering, âYou⦠youâre going to let Hayes give blood to Manleyâ¦â
Did that mean they were going to drain Hayes of all his blood and transfuse it into Manley? No wonder he looked so pale when he came home yesterday! So, he didnât go for a check-up yesterday. He had already given blood!
âI told you, Hayes giving blood to Manley was his choice! If you value your life, keep your mouth shut!
Donât tell anyone, got it?â
Teresa, more frightened than she had ever been, just nodded, tears continuing to stream down her face.
Yuna lost her patience and grabbed Teresa by the throat, âDid you understand me? Keep quiet if you donât want to die!â
Teresa began to scream illogically out of pure fear, âDaddy, Mommy, where are you? Please save me!
Iâm so scared!â
Yunaâs smile grew more twisted, her expression a mix of malice and cruelty, âKeep yelling! Even if you scream your lungs out, no one will come to save you today!â
Bang-The door to the room was suddenly kicked open.
Yuna turned instinctively and saw Frederick, his expression stern as a hawk, standing with Marguerite at the screen.
Immediately, Yuna felt like she was scared to death.
Teresa pushed Yuna aside and ran behind Frederick for protection, pointing at Yuna, she exclaimed, âHayesâ Daddy, Iâm so glad youâre here! Sheâs terrifying; she wants to take Hayesâ blood for Manley!
