Part 11

Sai came out of the room after dressing up and saw her Ashwini aai and Ninad baba were already having their morning tea. She looked down in guilt as she thought today aai had to make tea for herself and baba. She wished them good morning and went to the temple for her pooja and then almost ran to the kitchen to make coffee for Virat. Ashwini noticed this and came into the kitchen to talk to Sai. She noticed Sai was pouring coffee in the cup.

"Today you woke up late. Are you alright?" Ashwini asked affectionately as she put her hand on Sai's forehead to check if she has a temperature.

"No, nothing...I am ok..." Sai said as she blushed profusely.

Ashwini noticed her blush and was about to say something when her eyes fell on a red mark on her neck. She understood everything at once. Ashwini just smiled at her and let her go. She sent a silent prayer to God as she finally saw that her children's relationship is making some progress. She thought to share this news with Alka and ease her tension regarding Virat and Sai's married life. She knew even after the odd circumstances in which they both got married, everything will be fine and normal between them soon as she had trust in Sai's love for Virat.

However, Ashwini didn't know that sometimes reducing physical distance is just isn't enough in a relationship specially in a marriage because when couple doesn't understand each others' point of view then they can't make progress. Virat and Sai still had to go long way before they fully get each others' emotions right.

Virat got ready for the day and by now he was angry at himself for being such an insensitive guy for taking advantage of Sai's feelings. Sai came inside with his coffee. He just wanted to avoid her. He was not in a position to talk to her or even face her. He just wanted  to be away from her for a while. She handed him the cup of coffee.

"Virat, aapki coffee." Sai offered him the cup. Her eyes were downcast. She was feeling very shy after their morning love making session, she was blushing while talking to him.

"Virat felt irritated to talk to her right now. "Haan to rakh do na side table par, mere raste se hato mujhe taiyar hone do." He didn't even realize that engrossed in his self pity he very rudely asked her to keep the cup at the table. Sai felt a sudden jolt rose from her heart and got settled in her stomach bursting the bubble of her new found happiness.

Virat searched for his formal clothes in his cupboard when Sai asked him, "You want something?"

"Yes, peace of mind. Can you give that?" Virat blurted out angrily before he could stop himself.

Sai immediately turned around as she felt her eyes watering up. Virat took a deep breath to control his emotions. He looked at Sai but was not ready to start a conversation with her right now. She acting all normal and doing all the chores like nothing happened had unnerved him. He felt amount of respect which she gave him and unconditional love which she has for him, he was not worthy of it. She didn't stop him even once when he took liberty with her and went on to use her to satisfy his desires. He was not surprised that it was her first time. She consider him as her one true love so obviously she had saved herself just for him and he very shamelessly took everything from her. He doesn't deserve a girl like her.

Virat left for office without even having breakfast. Sai on the other hand started crying, hurt from his behavior. She couldn't understand his sudden changed behavior. She thought that this morning was the most beautiful morning of her life. She remembered their intimate moments and suddenly gasped as a thought occurred to her.

"What if he did all that in a weak moment and then regretted it later or even worse what if he didn't like it with her. She knew he had some flings in the past. She couldn't help but compare herself to those girls. She was just a novice to all this. what if she was not good enough for him?" She closed her eyes shut to stop all these heartbreaking thoughts. But she couldn't stop her tears which started flowing continuously on facing the rejection both physically and emotionally from the only love of her life.

Sai spent whole day in her room thinking how she can win Virat's heart. In the evening Alka came to meet Sai.

"This is the benefit of marrying of your daughter in the neighborhood. You can come to see her anytime." Alka said and hugged Sai.

Ashwini and Alka kept talking while Sai sat their half heartedly. After sometime Alka stood up to leave. "Thodi aur der baitho na itni bhi kya jaldi hai?" Ashwini asked.

"Arre Sai ke baba bhi na umr hone ke sath sath chidchide ho gaye hain. Subah subah chhoti si baat par jhagda karke gaye hain mujhse. Muh fulaye baithe honge din bhar office mein toh socha kyu na unki pasand ka dinner bana doon aaj. Isliye mujhe bahut kaam hai aur nahi ruk paungi." Alka replied.

"Favorite khana kha ke baba ka gussa durr ho jayega?" Sai asked as she got a hope to solve her problem.

"Aur nahi toh kya....mardo ko manana kaunsa bada kaam hai? Bas favourite dish bana do. Aakhir unke dil ka rasta unke pet se hokar jata hai." Alka said and laughed as she winked at Ashwini who also laughed with her. Alka took their leave.

Sai asked Ashwini, "Aai have you told cook to make dinner?"

"No, not yet. Why are you asking?" Ashwini asked.

"Then no need to tell them anything. Today I will make the dinner." Sai said and smiled.

Ashwini understood that she wants to make Virat's favourite dishes. She just kept her hand lovingly on her head and smiled, "Ok."

Sai made all Virat's favorite dishes for dinner. She and Ashwini were waiting for their husbands to return from office when Ninad called Ashwini and asked not to wait for them on dinner as they will be late. Ashwini informed Sai and asked her to join her on the table as she sat to eat. But Sai refused saying she wants to wait for Virat.

Ninad and Virat returned late at night. Virat was in a very bad mood. First all the frustration from the morning and then at office. It was his first day of work at office and he now understood why his baba kept saying that he and Kamal uncle were growing old and they cant manage the business alone. Office was full of chaos. No professionalism, no seriousness. All was result of his baba's and Kamal uncle's old and liberal ways of handling employees and business. Very first day he had to shout on few senior employees. He had called an emergency meeting to revamp companies policies. He wanted it to be more adaptive of today's competitive world. He was irritated and tired from all of this.

Ninad and Virat came inside and Virat saw Sai was sitting resting her head on dinner table. She woke up when she heard Ninad's voice.

"Baba, you go and freshen up while I serve your dinner." Sai said.

She saw Virat already went into their room without even looking at her. Both of them came back to dinner table and Sai served them food. Virat looked at the plate. All were his favourite dishes. He smiled as finally something good happened in this day. He took a spoon and started with dessert first. He closed his eyes in content as he savored the taste of gajar ka halwa.

"Aai, this is amazing." Virat praised his aai thinking she must have made it.

"Sai has made today's dinner." Ashwini informed than laughed at his expressions. He clearly looked shocked.

"Sai, why don't you sit too as you have also not eaten anything. I'll serve food." Ashwini said as she gave a plate to Sai. Sai sat down and Ashwini served her dinner.

"Why she has not eaten yet?" Ninad asked.

"Because she wanted to wait for Virat." Ashwini said with teasing smile as she looked at Virat.

Virat lost his appetite as once again he got the proof of Sai's selfless undying love and he remembered the morning incident. He felt guilty again. What did he do to get a wife like her. He stood up from the dinner table saying he is very tired and need rest. Sai looked at him longingly.  She was almost on the verge of tears as Virat didn't even touched rest of the food items. Ninad and Ashwini saw her disappointment.

"Don't worry Sai, it was a really hectic day at office he must be tired. I am giving you company for dinner." Niand tried to cheer her up but Sai couldn't eat anything after that.

Sai went in their bedroom after sometime and saw Virat was already sleeping. By now she was convinced that all the doubts she had in the morning about Virat not liking her and being intimate with her in a weak moment were true. She changed her clothes as she kept crying silently. She moved towards the bed but then stopped. If Virat didn't like her then whats was the need to share a bed with him. She again took out extra mattress from the cupboard and lied down on floor.

Virat got up in the middle of night to drink water. He saw Sai was again sleeping on the floor. First he couldn't understand but then he replayed the whole day's incidents in his mind and realization struck him like a lightning bolt. He was so drowned in self pity and self loathing that he didn't even realize he was being rude to her. In order to avoid her he actually took out all his frustration on her. He closed his eyes as he finally came to realize how stupid he has act the whole day with her. He wanted to wake her up and ask her to sleep on the bed but then he stopped himself. He didn't trust himself anymore around her. whenever she is in close vicinity, he acts like a horny teenager.

"Better let her sleep tonight there only. In the morning I will talk to her." Virat thought and again went to sleep.
