Chapter 228 - Education
Sir, How About A Marriage?
Jiang Jin smiled and looked at Song Ning dotingly.
Song Ning held Jiang Jinâs hand and said, âGrandmaâs health is fine. My teacher came to check on Grandma and said Iâve taken good care of Grandma during this period of timeâ¦â She tried her best to cheer Jiang Jin up.
As expected, Jiang Jin smiled. âLet Mu Chen reward you on my behalf.â
Song Ning nodded. âWith the imperial edict from grandmother, itâll be easier for me to ask for a reward.â
Jiang Jin pinched Song Ningâs cheek gently as she said to Sister Yu, âThis girl is too mischievous. How could Mu Chen not reward her without my words? Iâm afraid Mu Chen would give all the good things to her to please her. Donât you think sheâs just trying to get a reward from me?â
Sister Yu smiled. âWell, a reward from Old Madam is different from Young Masterâsâ¦â
Song Ning laughed. âThatâs right, thatâs right.â
The trio laughed happily.
Jiang Jin felt slightly better as well.
After a while, Song Ning asked Sister Yu to raise the head of the bed so Jiang Jin would feel more comfortable. After that, she stood up and turned in a circle twice as she said, âGrandma, Sister Yu said my belly isnât showing much so sheâs convinced the baby is a girl. What do you think of a great-granddaughter, Grandma?â
Jiang Jin looked at Song Ningâs still slender figure and said with a smile, âI think itâs great. A great-granddaughter is good and lovable. Just thinking about how soft and cuddly sheâs going to be, melts my heartâ¦â
Song Ning walked to the bedside and placed Jiang Jinâs hand on her stomach. âThen Grandma has to listen to me in the future and take care of your health. I still need your help to take care of my child.â
Jiang Jin nodded. âI will, I will.â
After Jiang Jinâs emotions stabilized, Song Ning finally said, âThereâs no problem with Mr. Muâs health; he just needs to rest. So donât worry, Grandma. Mu Chen said the matter has a lot to do with Mr. Mu so his illnessâ¦â She trailed off, not knowing if she continued to speak.
âHeâs faking it. I know. Heâs just looking for a way outâ¦â Jiang Jin said lightly.
âGrandma, donât be angry. After all, it didnât cause any major loss. Mu Chen has said the losses incurred are all within his expectations and control,â Song Ning said. She did not know how to comfort the astute old woman in front of her.
Jiang Jin sighed. âItâs the familyâs misfortune⦠Without the traitors, would outsiders have a chance to act?â
Song Ning said softly and tentatively, âGrandma, Mu Chen and Cheng Che donât dare to visit you. Theyâre outside.â
âWhy?âJiang Jin asked.
âThey said the method they used was vicious. Although itâs for the good of the Mu family, theyâre family members after all. Theyâre afraid youâll blame them for being too ruthlessâ¦â Song Ning said on behalf of the brothers.
Jiang Jin sighed and patted Song Ningâs hand. âTell them to come. I have something to say to themâ¦â
âAlright,â Song Ning said happily before she went to look for the two brothers.
âSlow down, slow down. Song Ning, donât forget that youâre pregnant! Walk slowly!â Jiang Jin said worriedly.
Song Ning slowed down and opened the door of the ward.
The two brothers were right in front of the door, clearly eavesdropping, when Song Ning opened the door. They smiled sheepishly.
Song Ning motioned for them to come in.
Jiang Jin waved at them, asking them to sit in front of her. She asked Mu Chen calmly, âHas everything been dealt with?â
Mu Chen hurriedly nodded.
Jiang Jin said, âMu Chen, you canât be too ruthless and force people to a dead end. Both of you must remember that a cornered dog will attack you. The gains wonât be able to make up for the losses at that time. You have to wield your authority with the right balance between kindness and harshnessâ¦â
Mu Chen and Cheng Che listened carefully with earnest and respectful expressions on their faces, looking like primary school students.
