74: he knows a guy
A Trios Love (MxMxM)
"Yes, about last night." My father's stone face, not a hint of warmth behind his eyes. It's been that way since mum left.
"Have you found an expert?" I ask. Out talk last night was about what we should do. No many demons mangle in the affairs of others. However, it isn't unheard of for them to come to the human realm. We were discussing how dangerous George is or could be. The only reason anyone is scared of him is simply because no one knows of his kind. He hasn't gotten the sent of a demon yet seems to have demonic abilities. We agreed that a demonic expert was in order. I don't want to do this to George, knowing this was a heavy issue for him.
"Indeed I have. Yet I am to do a background check on them yet. Bruno is on that as of current." He states
"A human?" I ask, taking a seat in front of him. I needed to know that this person was going to be accurate. Don't get me wrong, humans have been right about a lot of things, yet they also get their information from things that could be manipulated so easily. I've messed with many things around on the internet and way back when I used to fiddle with books and information. People believe anything they read because what is there to not believe.
"No, actually. A demon himself." I look at him shocked. He can not bring a demon to the mansion. There would be too much at stake. We don't know much about demons, yet here he is offering to collect one off the streets and just bring them here to risk everyone's lives. Georges life. Josh's... life.
"Really, dad?! A demon. How do you even know there's a demon around?! They hate the human realm."
"Well, you see. I know a guy who knows a guy who knows a demon. Supposedly, she's a very sweet lady, I'm not going to take his word for it, though. Bruno is on an undercover mission. If he shan't return in 2 weeks, we will assume he is dead. You just keep George happy for two weeks, and everything should be all good." He explained that going through some paperwork like this isn't the most important thing happening right now.
"Speaking of times, have you heard anything from Josh's wolf pack? Anything at all? It's been a day." I asked. He always knows someone who tells him something till he knows everything that's going on. I truly think he's getting with some witch who has the ability to see everything or something.
"Nothing as of yet. Unfortunately. I'm sure your little boyfriend is fine." I replied with a hum before dismissing myself and walking away. I seriously worried about him. I need someone to check on him, but everyone seems to be busy right now. I can't go alone, or George may be left with no one. There's no saying what would happen. Yet something telling me to go to him. To help him, to find out if he is okay! He should have been back yesterday, if not this morning.
"I think I should go find him. To help them. But I can't leave George, o don't know what to do." I sigh. I need to do something. Our soldiers had already returned to the pack to help with whatever was happening there, but no one had returned. We have no idea what is happening, and it's just not normal for not having received a report yet.
"Don't be stupid, son. I didn't raise you to be impulsive. I will send a messenger to Scout around. If there is no news in a few days, it will be decided that it is a danger zone, and there is war. Your little wolf... friend, should be fine, and everyone may be held up with war and not getting bitten." I know dad doesn't like Josh, but he'll get over it eventually.
"Fine, I'm going back to George. Get back to me when you can." I leave his office and head back downstairs to the littles and their playdate.
* * *
"NOOOO STOOOPP ITS MINE!!!" I heard the beginning of a chaotic scene.
"Please, no screaming, lilah!" I heard Charlie sigh.
"YEAH, WELL, I HAD IT FIRST!!" I'm pretty sure that's the voice of Ezra. A smile aprward on my face and a relaxing peace took over me, knowing I could now look after my baby boy. This wasn't just a coping mechanism for him, but it was one for me as well. It made me happy to look after him, I don't understand why, but it just did.
I opened the door and saw a mess in front of me. Ezra and Delilah were fighting over some doll that had an exact replica on the shelf right beside them, Jules and George were playing quietly with each other while giving glances towards the two fighting littles
Charlie and Victor seemed to grow tired and trying to keep the littles off of each other. While Rye was keeping George and Jules calm, assuring them that the arguing wasn't going to get violent.
George caught sight of me and ran towards me, screaming, "Daddy." He wrapped his arms around my waist and nuzzled his head into my chest, rubbing his face on my shirt.
"Hi baby, told you I wouldn't go far, how's everything going here?" I ask
"Ez and lilah don wike each over." He whispered, pulling me over to Jules and Rye, avoiding the two littles arguing. "We twide gibing dem de same toy, buh dey wan de one toy." He explains, further, making me sit down next to him. A soft smile resting on my face to see him this happy and carefree.
"They genuinely argue over everything." Rye states. She's not much for talking but seems tired of the arguing. "I just want them to at least argue quieter. Yelling would be better than screaming." She was brushing Jules hair out of her face. They both didn't speak much, and they both had a much different silence. Rye was more intimidating and doesn't seem to talk unless it was useful or something like that, whereas Jules was more just shy.
"I'll be back, baby." I ruffle his head as I got up, walking over to the small group.
"Are you good?" The two littles instantly quietened down for a little as I began to talk.
"I don't know how to get them to stop." Victor sighs before the littles start up again.
"Have you ever looked after a little before?" I ask genuinely curious. I've only really known him as some kind of war lord. Does he even know how to look after at all?
"I only really look after Ezra, and he's never acted like this before, a little arguing sure, he's never screamed at someone for so long." He looks at the little while his his hand pinches the bridge of his nose.
"Neither has lilah." Charlie explains. "I've threatened punishments and have tried to follow through, yet here she is arguing instead of being in time out."
I nod, somewhat understanding the situation.
"You two." I walked up to the littles who stopped arguing and looked my way. " What's the issue?" I ask, getting down on my knee to get to their level as they were sitting down.
"Nothing's the issue." Ezra gives me a confused looked.
"Why are you screaming at each other?" I asked, now confused by the situation.
"We're playing pretend. We're an arguing couple." Delilah explained further. I looked back at the caregivers, and they gave a baffled look.
"Um... well, keep it down, okay? No screaming." I say confused. They both agree and go back to arguing quieter.
"That's all.... that's all it took?!! We've asked them to quiet down, but when you say it, they agree?!!" Victor asks in disbelief.
"We're not rude." Ezra says. "It's his house it's his rules."
"Also, we wanted to see how far we could go before you got mad, but you didn't. Then it was just fun to scream." Delilah adds giggling.
"You, young lady, are in big trouble." Charlie's tired looks right at her, and she let's out a squeek hiding behind Ezra.
"It was his idea." She whines, pouting her lips.
"You agreed to it! Don't blame it all on me!" He pouts back at her.
"Ezra... why does this always happen?" Ezra shrugs his shoulders before walking over to George and Jules as Charlie and Delilah walk out of the room. I'm sure they'll be back later.
I stand up to walk back to the others. Before I get stopped by victors voice.
"Yknow, he's not even my little." I turn around to look at the seemingly defeated man. "I don't really know the first thing about looking after a little. Let alone Ezra." I walk towards him and sit by him on a child designed chair built for their teaparties.
"He's not your little?" I ask, resting my elbows on my legs, looking towards the playing group.
"Nope, I'm too much of a coward to ask. Josh made me go instead of him because he wants to play Cupid." I look towards him tensing up a little. Victor seemed to realise this, sitting up a little straighter.
"Sorry." He mentioned.
"Don't be. He's not dead. I'm sure he'll be back tomorrow with a perfect explanation." Victor looked at me with caution before speaking up again.
"It should be me out there. I'm more on the war front than he is, yet he instated that I go because he knew that George had you and that if I were to stay there was a chance Ezra wouldn't have anyone."
"Stop talking like he is dead. He is fine. He will be back. Let's not bring the mood down and just enjoy the day. If you want Ezra to be your little, ask him. I have a book on littlespace that may help you understand a little more on caregivers. Talk to Reggie if you need that." I say, walking away from the negativity. Victor stayed there for a little while before walking over as well.
"What Wong Daddy?" George asked as he saw me walking over.
"Nothing's wrong, baby. What are you playing?" I ask he gives me a small pout before explaining that they were having an indoor picnic tea party as well as colouring in. I smile and join, making sure not to let my worry for Josh show too much. I'm sure he'll be fine. I just wish I knew what was happening with him.
