"Aarav ji are you okay?" Aaradhya asks, her voice full of concern as she sees me stumble. I rub my eyes and look at her again. Is this really Aaradhya?
"Angel" the word escapes my mouth as I take her in. She is wearing a black shimmery gown that covers her completely but highlights her elegance.
Itâs the first time sheâs wearing western attire and she looks like an angel straight from heaven.
"Am I not looking good?" she asks breaking my thoughts. I grin widely.
"You are looking... so mine" I say without thinking. Her eyes widen in shock and her cheeks turn red.
"What is all this?" I ask glancing around the room, trying to make her feel at ease.
"I'll tell you later but first Please go and change. Iâve already kept the suit for you please wear that" she says innocently.
My eyes never leave her from the moment I step into the room. It feels like a crime to look away. Nodding, I walk to the closet. my heart racing faster than a horse. Is she going to propose to me today? The thought makes my chest tighten. If she does I might just die from happiness.
I change into the suit and glance at myself in the mirror. Her choice is perfect we are twinning. Taking a deep breath I give myself one last look before stepping out.
She is setting the table and when she sees me she smiles sweetly.
"I wish I hadnât done all those stupid things. If I hadnât, I could kiss her right now" I think. She looks so gorgeous, so pretty, that I feel lucky to be called her husband.
I walk toward her and she comes closer to me.
"Youâre looking handsome" she says and my breath hitches for a moment.
"Th...thank y...you" I stammer looking down feeling the heat rise to my cheeks and ears.
"Letâs have dinner" she says leading me to the balcony. The entire space is beautifully decorated with candles with a small table and two chairs in the middle. It looks magical.
I pull out a chair for her and she thanks me softly before sitting down.
"Why all this?" I finally ask the question lingering in my mind since I entered the room.
"Weâll talk later. First, letâs eat or the food will get cold" she says smiling and I nod.
I serve her and her smile grows wider. It feels like we canât stop smiling the entire time.
"Everything is my favorite!" I say excitedly.
"Maa and Chachi made this" she replies while eating.
"Itâs so tasty! Did they help you decorate too?" I ask and she nods.
"Maa, Chachi, and Riya helped" she says.
"Whatâs your favorite dish?" I ask eager to know more about her even though I already know most things.
"Actually, I love every dish thatâs served to me" she says with a grin and I smile back.
"What will you do after completing your course?" I ask watching her carefully.
"Iâll apply for jobs and anyway, the college will provide opportunities so Iâll see from there" she replies and I nod storing the information in my mind.
We talk about our childhoods while eating. I share how my siblings and I used to have small balcony picnics in tents and she laughs sharing her own stories. It feels so good to relive those memories with her.
After dinner, we stand side by side gazing at the night sky.
"Aarav ji I want to tell you something" she says softly making me turn to her.
"I forgive you for whatever happened in the past and Iâm ready to give this relationship a chance" she says her voice steady yet warm.
The moment she finishes speaking I lift her off the ground spinning her in excitement.
"Oh my God! Thank you! Thank you so much for giving me this chance!" I say unable to contain my happiness.
"Haha, Aarav ji, youâll make us fall!" she laughs and I gently place her back on the ground unable to stop myself from kissing her forehead.
She freezes for a moment and I immediately step back embarrassed.
"I was just excited" I mumble scratching the back of my neck.
She holds my hand and steps closer.
"I said Iâm ready to give our marriage a chance, so Iâm fine with this" she says looking down blushing hard.
"Are you sure?" I ask searching her face.
She looks up at me and nods with a wide smile.
"Thank you for giving me a chance, even though I donât deserve it. I promise to make every moment of your life memorable" I say sincerely.
"Thank you, wifey" I add whispering softly.
"Mention not, hubby" she replies laughing lightly and my entire face turns red.
"Youâll be the death of me" I say dramatically, clutching my heart and we both burst into laughter.
"Letâs sleep now. I have college tomorrow and Iâm tired" she says heading to the closet to change.
After sheâs done, I change and join her on the bed. Sleep feels far away but her peaceful expression makes me smile.
"Good night" she says closing her eyes her smile still there.
"Good night, my lady" I whisper switching off the lights.
As I lay there I vow to show her the other side of Aarav Yaduvanshi the side she will undoubtedly fall for.
Aaradhya's pov
I canât sleep. Iâm too happy. My heart feels full of joy. I planned all this with my ladies because he does so much for me and I wanted to do something special for him. Seeing his reaction earlier, I know it was all worth it.
I forgive him with all my heart. His actions now show how guilty he is about his past behavior and honestly, Iâm okay with it because at least he realized his mistake.
The moment he kissed my forehead it felt unreal, almost heavenly. His lips on my skin ahhhh itâs so dreamy.
Aaradhya you are getting obsessed with your own husband! But when the husband is like this, thereâs no shame in being obsessed, I think to myself grinning at my thoughts.
I turn around and see him already asleep. I move closer and look at his face. He looks so innocent yet so handsome.
Unknowingly, my hand moves toward his face and I gently caress his cheek.
He is truly a masterpiece created by God. His manly features, and to top it off, his beard it makes him look even more royal and dominating. Heâs perfect, and then thereâs me.
As Iâm about to pull my hand away from his cheek something unexpected happens. He pulls me by the waist and hugs me. My head rests on his bicep and my hand lands on his chest.
I try to move away not wanting to make him uncomfortable but he says, "If youâre comfortable you can sleep like this."
I freeze for a moment but then decide to stay. I donât move and lay there quietly. He was awake this whole time?
"Congratulations Aaradhya you embarrassed yourself again" I think to myself before sleep finally takes over.
Next Morning
I wake up after the best sleep of my life. Iâm still in his arms or rather Iâm lying completely on him! Doesnât he feel suffocated? I quickly get up feeling flustered and head to the bathroom to freshen up.
When I come back heâs still sleeping. Itâs already 8 AM. Should I wake him up? But then again he doesnât sleep much, so one day of extra sleep wonât hurt. I leave him to rest and go downstairs.
"Bhabhi!" I hear Darsh and Raj calling but I canât see them.
"Where are you two?" I ask confused.
"Weâre here!" they shout and suddenly I see them lying at my feet.
"Ahhh! Kya kar rahe ho tum log? Utho!" I exclaim stepping back. But they crawl toward me again.
"Promise us something first" they say in unison looking at me with mischievous smiles.
"First, get up" I say firmly but they shake their heads.
"Promise youâll do whatever we ask!" Raj says and I sigh nodding in agreement. These two are so stubborn I know they wonât stop until I agree.
"Youâre the best bhabhi in the world!" they shout hugging me tightly.
"If Aarav sees you hugging his wife, what do you think will happen to both of you?" we hear Jayeâs teasing voice. The two immediately let go of me and step back.
"What do you want?" I ask crossing my arms. They pull me to the corner looking nervous.
"Bhabhi yesterday we boasted to our friends that we have a Bugatti La Voiture Noire, but they didnât believe us" Darsh starts. I can already see where this is going.
"So we donât actually have the car, and if we donât take it to college today theyâll make fun of us" Raj adds pouting.
"And what am I supposed to do about this?" I ask glaring at them. "You shouldâve thought about this before lying!"
"But you promised youâd help us" Darsh reminds me giving me puppy eyes.
"And now we want you to ask Bhai to lend us his car" Raj says. My eyes widen.
Riya once told me that Aarav ji is very possessive about that car. No one is allowed to touch it.
"Iâm not doing this" I say, stepping back.
"Bhabhi youâre breaking your promise!" they say their faces looking like sad puppies.
"Iâm not doing this" I repeat turning to leave.
"No problem. Theyâll just make fun of us. Itâs not like we matter" Darsh says dramatically.
"Yeah, weâre nobody" Raj adds walking away with slumped shoulders.
"Ahhhh!" I growl in frustration, storming to the breakfast table. Everyone except Aarav ji is already seated.
"Papa can I ask you something?" I say after sitting down.
"Of course" he replies.
"Why didnât you buy their favorite car for them?" I point toward Darsh and Raj who are now avoiding eye contact.
"To be honest we never stop them from buying anything. But if itâs their favorite we want them to work hard and buy it with their own money" Papa explains and I nod.
"Even Aarav and Jaye bought their favorite cars with their self-earned money. We didnât help them" Chachu adds.
"Chalo, letâs start breakfast. Aarav is here" Maa says as Aarav ji enters the room.
"Good morning" Aarav ji greets before sitting beside me.
Should I ask him now? Yes, I should. With everyone here, he wonât get angry.
"Aarav ji" I say nervously. Everyone looks at me, including him.
"I want... something from you" I say, stammering slightly.
"Go ahead" he says patiently waiting for me to continue.
"I want you to give your car to Raj and Darsh" I say my voice barely above a whisper.
He nods. "They can take it if they want."
"La Voiture Noire" I clarify and he stops eating looking at me then at Darsh and Raj. Both of them stare at the floor, pretending they donât exist.
"Please donât say no" I whisper and his lips curve into a small smile.
"You guys can take it. Itâs yours now" he says shocking everyone at the table.
"Bhai are you serious?" Darsh asks and Aarav ji nods.
"Oh my God! Love really changes people!" Papa exclaims making everyone laugh.
"Itâs all because of love!" Jaye teases and the laughter grows louder.
"Thank you," I whisper to Aarav ji after everyone resumes eating.
"What will I get in return?" he asks smirking.
"What do you want?" I ask leaning closer.
He leans in as well whispering his demand in my ear. My eyes widen in shock.
