Aaravâs POV
âIn return I want to hug you whenever I wantâ I whispered in Aaradhyaâs ear, my voice low âand Iâll cuddle you while sleeping.â
She looked at me shocked at first then her cheeks turned red as she started blushing.
âO...okâ she stuttered focusing hard on her plate.
Believe me if this is the price Iâd give all my cars and everything to Darsh and Raj without a second thought.
âAhem ahemâ we suddenly heard Jayeâs voice. Kabab mein haddi, as always.
âGuys, get a room for yourselvesâ he muttered smirking.
I turned to glare at him Aaradhya doing the same beside me.
âPapa, Chachuâ I called out loudly ignoring Jaye. Both of them looked at me curious.
âHaan?â Chachu asked raising an eyebrow.
âIâve found a guy for Riyaâ I said casually.
Jayeâs glare instantly intensified. If looks could kill, Iâd be dead by now.
âAchha? Whatâs the guyâs name?â Papa asked intrigued.
âHeâs one of my business friends. Very successful and exactly the kind of guy youâve been searching for Riyaâ I explained trying to sound innocent.
I could almost see the veins popping on Jayeâs forehead. Aaradhya quickly chimed in, âYes Aarav ji told me about him too. Heâs such a nice guy!â
Jaye turned his puppy-dog eyes toward Aaradhya and I was sure he had done something to win her over as well.
âAlright then introduce us to himâ Chachu said nodding.
âNo, I mean Iâm not ready for all this yetâ Riya blurted out making excuses.
âBut whatâs the harm in meeting him?â Chachu asked looking confused.
âIf my daughter isnât ready then the matter ends here,â Maa said firmly. Her tone left no room for arguments and the room went silent.
Jaye turned to me with an evil smile. I knew he was already plotting his revenge. Ahh Iâm doomed now.
Aaradhyaâs POV
I sit in my class waiting for the professor. Kia hasnât arrived yet. My thoughts drift to this morningâs conversation with Aarav. Just remembering what he asked for makes my cheeks burn.
Who wouldâve thought Aarav Yaduvanshi could be this romantic? I like this side of him. "Pervert Aaradhya" my conscience mocks.
âIâm not a pervertâ I argue with myself silently. âAnd even if I am heâs my husband. I have all the rights on him!â
Heâs really something. I feel something for him maybe I like him. Who wouldnât, when he behaves like this? My life has changed so much. From being the bride who replaced someone else to now being the woman heâs ready to accept wholeheartedly.
I know he feels the same for me. Actions speak louder than words. It feels heavenly just thinking about us being together as a real husband and wife.
âDaydreaming?â I hear Kiaâs voice and quickly give her a sheepish smile.
âWhat were you thinking?â she asks pulling out her books.
âNothing, just random thingsâ I reply casually. She nods handing me a small box.
âI made this especially for youâ she says smiling widely.
I take a bite of the pastry and believe me itâs the best Iâve ever had.
âItâs so good!â I say taking another bite.
âOf course! I made itâ Kia says dramatically flipping her hair. I laugh at her over-the-top behavior.
The professor arrives and the class begins. After class, we find out the next lectures are canceled for some reason.
âLetâs go sit there for a whileâ Kia says dragging me toward the grass area. As she pulls me along, I accidentally bump into someone, stumbling slightly. Thankfully Kia is holding my hand, so I donât fall.
âIâm really sorryâ I say quickly looking up to see who it is. Itâs one of my seniors. He stares at me without blinking making me uncomfortable. I walk away with Kia avoiding his gaze but I can still feel him looking at me.
âHe was staring at youâ Kia says as soon as we sit on the grass.
âYes, because we bumped into each otherâ I reply calmly. She nods but still seems curious.
âDo you know about the Yaduvanshi family?â she asks suddenly. I nod in response.
âDad was telling me yesterday how humble they are. Theyâve instructed every food shop in the city to feed anyone whoâs hungry free of charge and they pay for it allâ she says admiration clear in her voice.
I feel proud hearing this.
âThey donât even show it in the media. If someone else did this theyâd make it a big deal for publicity. But theyâre genuinely sweet peopleâ she adds.
I smile softly nodding.
âThis university belongs to them you know. Forty percent of the students here are on scholarships because of themâ she continues praising my family.
I donât say anything but my heart swells with pride.
Aaravâs POV
âMake sure everything goes according to planâ Papa says his tone firm as he speaks to our men.
âEverything is ready sir. We are just waiting for your orderâ one of them replies.
We recently found out that a well-known politician is involved in trafficking young girls with the help of some high-ranking police officers. Weâve decided to take action without letting anyone know.
âMake sure every girl is safe and soundâ Chachu says. The man nods and leaves.
âIâm going with themâ I say standing up from my seat.
âNo, youâre not. It might be dangerous for our reputation and I donât want anyone to know about this side of oursâ Papa says staring out the glass wall.
âBelieve me nothing will happenâ I assure him. He looks at me for a moment and then scoffs lightly.
âTake care of yourselfâ Chachu says, patting my head.
âI willâ I reply before walking out of the office.
At Night
âIâm homeâ I say as I step into the house. I see everyone sitting in the living room watching the news.
The anchor is reporting âPolitician Rajveer Khanna has been found trafficking minor girls. A video of him involved in this heinous act has surfaced and several high-ranking police officers are also implicated. When we reached the location of these crimes, we found all the men beaten and lying on the ground. Rajveer Khanna was also there, with one of his legs shot. We donât know who exposed this, but we are grateful to the brave person who brought it to light.â
âWow, good people still existâ Maa says impressed.
I feel proud but stay quiet. Only Papa, Chachu, Jaye, and I know the truth.
I sit down beside Aaradhya who gives me a small smile. All my tiredness fades just by seeing her. Everyone starts chatting about random things.
âHow was your day?â I ask her softly leaning closer.
She turns to face me. âIt was fine. What about yours?â she asks looking at me.
I lean back on the couch. âTiringâ I reply, and she chuckles softly.
âWanna have a cup of coffee with me?â she asks her smile shy.
âIâd be the biggest idiot in the world to say noâ I reply and she laughs lightly.
âYeh romance ki hawa kahaan se aa rahi hai?â we hear Darsh tease.
âShayad bhai bhabhi ki taraf seâ Riya adds, joining in. I know theyâre both teasing us.
âTum sab kabab mein haddi ho. Apni wife se baat bhi nahi kar sakta insaanâ I say, pretending to be annoyed. Everyone bursts into laughter and Aaradhyaâs cheeks turn red.
âNow we are seeing a new side of our lover boy every dayâ Chachu says,
laughing.
âYou havenât even seen a fraction of itâ I think to myself smirking.
âYou guys should go somewhereâ Chachi suggests.
I silently thank her in my mind and glance at Aaradhya to see if sheâs ready for such a step. She looks unsure so I decide for now.
âWeâll go after some timeâ I say and they nod in agreement.
Aaradhya's POV
Itâs midnight, and Iâm half-asleep when my phone starts ringing. Whoâs calling at this hour? Without checking the caller ID, I answer the call.
âHello, wifeyâ I hear Aarav Jiâs voice. I look at the phone in surprise and then turn to see heâs not in bed.
âWhere are you?â I ask sitting up.
âSorry for disturbing your beauty sleep, but can you come outside the mansion, please?â he says in such a soft voice that I canât say no.
âOkay, Iâm comingâ I reply getting up and washing my face. Why is he calling me outside at this time?
I walk downstairs and step out of the mansion, only to freeze in shock. Aarav Ji is sitting on a sleek black superbike. wearing a leather jacket, leather pants, and a black helmet. He looks like a complete mafia boss.
âWhat is this?â I ask walking toward him. He smiles looking effortlessly cool.
âAs far as I know, my wifey wanted to go on a late-night bike ride and as a good husband Iâm fulfilling her wishâ he says making my heart race.
âWould you give me the honor of taking you on a bike ride?â he asks bowing slightly and I canât help but laugh.
âDo you even know how to ride a bike?â I tease as he hands me a helmet.
âI can ride many things, wifey. Wanna see?â he says with a smirk and my eyes widen. I catch the double meaning and my face heats up.
âLetâs goâ I say quickly trying to ignore the images forming in my head. Aaradhya stop imagining things!
I sit behind him and he looks at me through the mirror.
âHold me tight. Iâm not going slowâ he says in a teasing voice. I lightly hit his shoulder before holding onto him by his shoulders.
âNot like this. Like thisâ he says taking my hands and placing them around his stomach. My heartbeat goes crazy at his actions.
âAre you comfortable?â he asks with genuine concern. I smile at his thoughtfulness and nod. He starts the bike and we ride out of the mansion. I notice our bodyguards following us at a safe distance.
The roads are quiet and the chilly breeze feels refreshing. I smile realizing this was on my bucket list and heâs making it happen. Without realizing it I hug him tightly.
âWhere do you want to go?â he asks speeding up the bike.
âIâm fine wherever you take meâ I reply and he nods.
âYou shouldâve told me earlier so I couldâve changed. Iâm in pajamasâ I say glancing at my casual attire compared to his stylish look.
âItâs okay. Youâre perfect in everything, wifeyâ he says making me blush.
At a traffic signal a car stops beside us. A group of girls inside the car looks like theyâre returning from a party but why are they staring at Aarav Ji? I follow their gaze and realize theyâre looking at him.
Ahh, how cheap of them to eye someone elseâs husband! I glare at them but they canât see my face because of the helmet. Annoyed, I hug Aarav Ji tighter and he holds my hand in return.
I look at him through the mirror and see him smirking. He brings my hand closer to his helmet and kisses it gently before placing it back on his stomach. My heart skips a beat. Did he notice I was jealous?
âIâm all yoursâ he says as if reading my mind. Butterflies go wild in my stomach and my face feels hot.
He takes me to a small tea stall in a quiet street. I get off the bike and he follows me. The stall is small but clean and cozy.
âWould you like tea or coffee?â he asks.
âTeaâ I say realizing itâs been a while since Iâve had tea.
âHere you goâ he says handing me a cup and sitting beside me on the bench.
âItâs getting colder. Whereâs your tea?â I ask while sipping mine.
âDo you want me to drink it?â he asks looking at me. I nod.
âOkayâ he says taking my cup and sipping from the same spot I drank from. The butterflies in my stomach go into overdrive.
âItâs goodâ he says with a teasing smile.
âLetâs go homeâ I say finishing my tea. He stands picks up our helmets and hands me his jacket.
âHere, wear thisâ Aarav Ji says.
âBut you....â I start but he cuts me off.
âIâm fine. You wear itâ he insists. I wear the jacket and sit behind him, hugging him tightly.
âThank you for thisâ I say softly.
âDonât thank me, but you can repay me in other waysâ he says smirking.
âNope. Iâm not paying youâ I reply and he laughs. His laughter is so addictive.
We return to the mansion and go to our room.
âGood nightâ I say closing my eyes but I feel him pull me into his arms. He hugs me tightly placing my head on his chest.
âGood night, wifeyâ he whispers and I drift off to sleep peacefully in his embrace.
