Aaradhya's POV

"I had kept it in the cupboard last night brother and today when I checked it wasn't there” Bua ji said crying. My heart started beating unevenly. Something bad was about to happen to me I could feel it.

"Until today nothing has been stolen from this house and today the necklace has been stolen" Aarav ji said concern evident on his face though it felt fake to me.

“Arre dhundhte hain…” Maa began but Aarav ji interrupted her.

"By the way how did it look? Bua do you have any photo of the necklace?" he asked.

“yes yes i have! Wait… see” Bua ji said pulling up a picture of her necklace on her phone.

"Hey I just saw this in our room" Aarav ji said casually.

"In your room? What was my necklace doing there?" Bua ji exclaimed shocked.

"I don't wear necklace... and....." Aarav ji paused and looked at me. Suddenly everyone’s eyes were on me.

“i do.... don't know…” I stammered fear taking over. I knew they would think I had stolen it.

“Yeh zaroor is ladki ka kaam hai! Isi ne churaya hoga!” Bua ji said walking towards me angrily. I stepped back my heart pounding.

“why she'll take your necklace?” Chachi said trying to defend me.

"Because she must have never seen such things before! She's from a middle-class family right? Seeing such a big house she will definitely get greedy" Bua ji spat her words cutting deep. Tears welled up in my eyes. I didn’t even know what her necklace looked like so how could I have stolen it?

"I... I really didn't take it..." I said choking on my tears.

"There must have been some mistake. Aaradhya can't do this" Maa said  standing beside me firmly.

“Haan bhabhi aisa nahi kar sakti” Darsh supported. I felt a small sense of relief that someone believed me.

"But how can you all trust so quickly? Anyway it's only been one day since she came into the house!" Aarav ji said coldly.

His words felt like a stab in my heart. I looked at him tears streaming down my face. He didn’t meet my eyes breaking the eye contact.

"Come on let's go to the room and check!" Bua ji declared heading upstairs. Everyone followed her including me.

As we entered the room Bua ji rushed to the dressing table.

“this is my necklace!” she exclaimed picking it up.

"What will you all say now? How did my necklace end up here?" she said glaring at me.

"Enough let's end this here. There must have been some mistake. Otherwise Aaradhya wouldn't do this as far as I know" papa said calmly. I looked down unable to meet anyone’s gaze.

“but....” Bua ji began but Chachu interrupted her.

"Let's end this here and everyone go back to their work" he said firmly. One by one everyone left the room. I stood in the corner feeling small and broken.

Aarav ji came towards me his expression unreadable.

"You turned out to be not just a deceiver but also a thief wifey" he said standing just inches away. His words stung and I looked into his eyes, hurt.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked in a broken voice.

"As if you don't know wifey why I am doing all this" he said stepping closer. His gaze didn’t leave mine.

"Slowly I will fill the hearts of the whole family with so much hatred for you that they will throw you out of this house" he said with a smirk.

"If you want to do this then give me a divorce. I will leave your life forever" I said my voice trembling.

"If I wanted to give you a divorce I wouldn't have tolerated you for even a day. Anyway Maa and papa won't let me do this. That's why with their permission I will give you a divorce" he said, his tone mocking. Then he left the room, leaving me alone.

I sank to the floor tears pouring down my face. My heart felt like it was shattering into pieces.

Why is this happening to me? What have I done to deserve this? I thought. His words echoed in my head so cruel so heartless.

I hugged my knees sobbing quietly.

Is this my life now? My mind swirled with questions each one heavier than the last. I didn’t know if I had the strength to survive this storm.

Aarav's pov

Yes, it was all part of my plan. I’m the one who took the necklace and placed it on the table. Seeing her like this gives me a strange satisfaction. She deserves it and there’s much more to come.

I slide into my Rolls-Royce Sweptail feeling the soft leather embrace me as the driver starts the engine. I glance out the window as the city passes by heading towards my company.

When we arrive I step out of the car. The moment employees see me they greet me with respect. I barely acknowledge them nodding slightly as I make my way to the building’s entrance. The people around me know their place and I make sure they remember it.

I walk past the bustling floors taking the private elevator straight to the 45th floor which is reserved just for me. The moment I step out of the lift I’m greeted by the luxurious sights of my office.

It’s the perfect symbol of my success floor-to-ceiling windows with an amazing view of the city, sleek furniture and the soft glow of modern lighting. Every detail screams power and wealth.

I sit behind my massive desk feeling the weight of my authority. My secretary enters holding a folder with my schedule “Sir, Mr. Bansal is bankrupt” Rahul says and a smirk crosses my face. This is exactly what I wanted. Now she’ll see how much power I truly have. Soon she’ll beg me to forgive her parents.

“Make sure I’m informed about everything” I say dismissing him with a simple nod. He leaves and I lean back in my chair enjoying the moment.

It was evening and I was leaving my office. I walked toward my car ready to end the long day when suddenly a man rushed toward me and dropped to his knees clutching my feet. Surprised, I looked down and to my sasur ji, it is Mr. Bansal.

"Forgive us... We made a big mistake" he pleaded his voice shaking with desperation. Before he could say more I signaled one of my men to step forward and pull him away.

"First of all sorry for what father-in-law?" I said my voice calm but mocking. I tilted my head and smirked watching his panic grow. "Anyway what had to happen has already happened. Now, the fate of your company lies in my hands."

He fell to his knees again folding his hands. "Please… please maaf kar do" he begged. His voice cracked but I was unmoved.

"The damage is already done" I replied coldly stepping into my car. My words were final. His desperate cries echoed as the door shut but my man held him back firmly. I instructed the driver to take me home leaning back in my seat with a smirk.

By the time I reached home it was already dark. The house was unusually quiet. I stepped into the living room but it was empty.

“Where is my wifey?” I thought a mix of curiosity and irritation crossing my mind. I wanted to be the one to inform her about her father’s downfall. Removing my coat I climbed the stairs and walked to my bedroom.

The door was slightly open and as I stepped inside, my eyes landed on her. Aaradhya was sitting on the balcony floor her knees pulled to her chest her face tilted upward as she stared at the sky.

She didn’t notice me and I didn’t make a sound. I stood there observing her quietly feeling something strange stir inside me.

She’s the first woman I’ve ever touched even if it was just to punish her. Yet, whenever she’s near I feel an inexplicable pull toward her.

“Stop it Aarav” my subconscious warned. “You’re here to take revenge not to get distracted” I snapped out of my thoughts and cleared my throat as I stepped closer.

“Hey wifey” I called out leaning against the balcony door. She turned her head to look at me her movements slow and tired. Then without a word she stood up brushing off her clothes.

“Are you enjoying the night?” I asked trying to gauge her reaction. But she didn’t respond. Instead she lowered her eyes avoiding mine.

Normally I relish it when people can’t meet my gaze it gives me a sense of power. But with her it feels different.

“Stop it Aarav” I warned myself again shaking off the unfamiliar feelings.

"Did you find out anything?" I asked taking slow steps toward her. As I came closer I leaned down slightly to match her height studying her face. That’s when I noticed her eyes. They were red, swollen she had been crying.

"Your father's company has gone bankrupt" I said my voice laced with satisfaction. "And now I am the owner of that company"

I waited expecting her to beg for her father’s company maybe cry or plead but she didn’t. Instead she looked me straight in the eye and said something that caught me off guard.

“They deserve it”

I froze. What did she just say? They deserve it?What does she mean by that? Does she hate them? But why? Aren’t they her family?

I clenched my fists trying to make sense of her reaction. She should’ve cried begged me to save her father’s company. But instead she looked so… calm. Almost indifferent.

I glanced at her standing there quietly her face unreadable. She didn’t even flinch when I mentioned their downfall. If anything it seemed like she was expecting it.

My mind is messed up.
