42. THAT WAS NOT ACCIDENT

I woke up and glanced at clock. It's 6 am now. I got in bathroom and took a cold shower as I started liking it, just like Faisal did. I get dressed into a white silk high neck top, light pink long coat and pants. I put my makeup minimal like usual with eyeliner and light lipstick. I took my brown leather handbag and some important documents.

(Imagine this outfit but with long waist length hairs)

And finally I'm ready to go.

I took one apple on my way to door. I got in elevator and just as I walked out of building Zack opened the back door of black BMW and I sat in. He sat on passenger seat and driver started driving.

After sometimes car stopped, one of guard opened the door for me and I got down. I glanced at the skyscraper in front of me which is the result of my husband's years of hard work. I walked inside, the receptionist and everyone wished me morning while standing up and bowing. I wished back and moved straight to elevator.

I got on 107 floor and walked straight. I stopped and glanced at the door which is having name plate

MD & CEO MR. FAISAL KHAN

I touched it with my fingers and went in. I put my bag and envelope on table. I directly moved to the glass wall and glanced outside at the whole city.

*Knock knock*

-"Come in." I said without looking because I know who'll it be

-"Good morning ma'am. Here's your coffee and the schedule for today."

-"I'll see it."

-"Okay ma'am." With this Bella left.

I sighed and sat on chair behind table. I drank coffee, opened the file and checked schedule for today. I has three meetings and one is with board of directors. So total four meetings. It's gonna be a long day. Like always. After preparing for meeting I left to conference room.

Around 2 pm I was working in office, then

-"May I come in ma'am?"

-"Jay. You've already entered." I said while continuing my work. He smiles sheepishly and walked in. I didn't looked at him but I know his reaction. He sat on chair in front of me.

-"So how the meeting went?"

-"Like always."

-"I'm asking about board of directors."

-"It also went good."

-"Hey Zoya!" He shouted and I looked at him. "Tell me about those three monkeys."

-"They apologized and said that Mrs. Khan you are managing everything just like Mr. Khan. We're glad that you became CEO. We didn't knew that you are this much capable blah blah blah."

-"That's nice."

I again continues my work.

So the thing that happened was that when I told that I am becoming CEO all the board members were agreed but three of them said that it's the post of CEO of a multinational company and a weak girl like me can never handle it. Just because I am Mrs. Khan and have 75 percent shares it doesn't mean that I am capable of being CEO. I am just nineteen years old. But Mr. Charley took my side and reminded them that the time when Faisal became CEO he was just eighteen and look he brought the company to top level.

-"Zoya! Zoya!"

-"Yes Jay." I said coming out of my thoughts.

-"Let's go for lunch I've also not eaten anything."

-"No Jay. It's already 2 pm and I'll eat something at home. I'm not hungry."

-"No. I don't want to hear anything. You're going with me right now."

He got up and walked to me. He hold my arm and pulled me to stand. I protested.

-"Jay. Atleast let me complete my work. After......."

-"NO."

He closed the laptop and dragged me out locking door behind. We went in elevator and he left my arm. Then we went to canteen.

Currently we're eating pasta

-"I met Rehan last week in our hotel. Any news about Mr. Montano?" He asked and I nodded negatively. "Have you tried to talk to your parents and your........ "

I immediately got up from chair.

-"Jay. It's 2:30 now. I've to go. I've meeting at 3." I said and turned to leave but he hold my hand.

-"Zoya."

-"Please Jay. Let me go." I said without looking at him.

-"How much you'll run away Zoya?"

-"I don't know. Maybe until I meet Faisal." I removed his hand and walked out. I got in elevator then in Faisal's cabin.

Just as I entered a lone tear escaped my eyes. I wiped it immediately and got back to work pushing away all the thoughts. Because now I only cares about this company. Nothing more. Nothing less.

NIGHT

AT PENTHOUSE

-"....... So that was all happened this week and tomorrow is weekend so I'm gonna be busy cleaning your room. That's all for now." I switch off the recorder and put it back in drawer. I closed the drawer and sighed. I looked at his picture then left the room closing it.

I went in my room. I studied and then slept at 12:30 am.

Next day went like every weekend in cleaning Faisal's room. Whole day went in it. What was the need for him to have this much big room?

One question you would have thought of. That where are servants?

Well. They comes and cleans the house then left. No one is allowed to enter Faisal's room because I don't want anyone to touch a single thing there. It's my Faisal's room. I've also told Mary to not cook anything as I usually don't eats and if I does, I cooks it by myself.

Now it's 4 in evening and I got a call.

-"Good evening ma'am."

-"Good evening Mr. Morgan."

-"Ma'am actually........."

-"I don't want any excuse. Yes or no?" I said interrupting him.

-"No ma'am."

I cut the call and were going to throw my phone. But I stopped realising. This was given by Faisal. I sighed and looked away. I found Jay looking at me standing near wall.

-"Jay? What're you doing here?" I asked him and sat on couch pressing my head. It's paining again. He walked to me.

-"Zoya. What happened? Why're you angry?" He asked and sat on other coach.

-"Nothing."

-"Zoya. You needs someone to share your problems. You can't handle everything alone."

-"I can. I can do everything by myself. I can handle everything and take care of myself."

-"Yes. I can see that. I can see that how much you're taking care of yourself."

-"Jay......"

-"Look at yourself Zoya. You don't eats properly, you don't takes proper rest, just always work work. Either you're doing your college work or you're working on some new project or attending meetings."

-"That's my routine......."

-"That's not your routine. You're keeping yourself busy so that you can escape from reality."

-"No Jay. I've to do it for Khan Industries." I said looking away.

-"Zoya......."

-"Please Jay. I don't want to hear anything, my head is paining. Tell me what happened that you came here at this time? It's going to be night soon."

-"Zoya. Next week......" He said hesitantly.

-"Next week what?"

-"Rehan's marriage."

I felt like I got struck with lightening.

-"Bhai....... Bhai's marriage?" I asked not believing my ears.

-"Yes Zoya. Rehan and Nina are getting married next week. It's going to be a very grand wedding, many big businessmen and celebrities are going to be there."

-"They didn't even told me......" I whispered unbelievably.

-"Zoya......"

-"He's getting married with Nina di? No one even cared to inform me?"

-"Zoya. You know na that what they thinks of you?"

-"I know Jay. I can never ever forget that blames. But still........"

Jay got a call. He looked at me hesitantly.

"It's from Rehan Bhai right?" He nodded.

-"We have a meeting at 8pm."

I glanced in my mobile.

-"It's 7:30 already. You should go now." I said getting up.

-"You're fine right?"

-"Jay. Don't worry about me. You go." I said assuring. He smiled and nodded.

-"Take care my buddy." He said and left.

I looked around our home and realised how empty it has become. Just like my life. The more I tries to get used to this emptiness, the more it becomes.

I thought that atleast Rehan Bhai will understand me, but he also thinks like like everyone that's why he didn't informed me. And Nina di....... At least she would have told me. These both people claimed me to be their sister and now......

I felt warm liquid on my cheek. I wiped it immediately.

I got up and went in my room. Then I did my college work and office work.

AFTER ONE WEEK.

-"What are you doing here?"

-"Is that even a question? I've came to give my Bhai his wedding present."

I'm standing in garden of mansion. There is no one here except me and her.

-"We don't want anything that is brought from my Faisal's blood." Mom said. "And why you came here? How shameless you are. You came without invitation."

-"It's my brother's wedding. I don't need invitation."

-"Your brother's wedding? Which brother are you talking CEO Zoya?" She said hatefully looking at me. "That is my son, and he don't have any sister. His sister died many years ago, you're not related to any of us."

-"Mom......"

-"Don't you dare call me that with this filthy mouth of yours. You bloody gold digger."

-"Mom! Please. I've just came to see my Bhai once. I just want to see my Bhai in groom's attire. Please Mom." I begged.

-"I will not let your bad omen fall on my son and daughter in law. You witch. You have eaten your own husband now you don't even want us to live peacefully."

-"Mom. Please. I've not done anything. Why're you blaming me? It has been six months. Please Mom don't speak like this."

-"Get out from my house." She said coldly.

-"Mom?"

-"I said get out!"

-"Mom please......." I whispered and my vision turned glossy.

-"You'll not go by yourself right?" She held my hand and dragged me out of mansion. Tears fell from my eyes.

-"Mom. Please don't do this. Please......"

She pushed me out of main door and I fell on ground.

-"Stay away from my family!" She shouted.

-"Mom. I'm your daughter." I said while crying.

-"You're a witch! A bad omen! A murderer!"

-"Mom........" I whispered and sobbed looking at her pleadingly.

-"You're just a gold digger! A burden! That's why even your parents left you! No one wants you! Why're you still alive? GO AND DIE SOMEWHERE!" She left after closing the door.

I cried looking down.

-"Ma'am." Zack was standing near me. I tried to got up but my hand pained. Zack forwarded his hand and I got up holding his arm with my left hand. He picked the gift box from ground.

-"Let's go Zack. I want to go away from this place." I ordered him wiping my tears and sat in car. He started driving. I was sitting on back seat holding my right hand.

It got hit hardly on ground. The surgery has done successfully and my hand is completely fine now. But it pains if I puts pressure on it.

-"Ma'am should we go to hospital?"

-"No Zack. It's fine."

I reached home and directly went in Faisal's room. I took out the recorder from drawer.

-"Why you left me Faisal? Why you went away leaving me here to suffer?

You was my everything Faisal. And when you went away, my everything went away with you."

More tears fell from my eyes. I sobbed and continued.

"My Bhai. My Rehan Bhai is getting married today. You yourself know that how much excited I was for his marriage. He told me one day that I'll be the first person whom he'll tell about his girlfriend whenever he got any. But he....... He didn't even told me Faisal."

I wiped my tears.

"Still I went there. Just to see him once but, Mom threw me away. She said......." I sobbed and continues.

"You're just a gold digger! A burden! That's why even your parents left you No one wants you! Why're you still alive? GO AND DIE SOMEWHERE!"

"I am not a gold digger. Trust me Faisal. I am not......"

I sat on floor hugging my knees and cried bitterly while sobbing.

"She is right Faisal. No one wants me.

My parents said that I betrayed them by marrying someone without their knowledge and they don't want to keep relation with me.

Mom blamed me for everything. She said that I would have killed you for your money. I am a cunning filthy girl who manipulated you for marriage and then killed you. She claims me to be a bad omen. She said that I was trapping everyone in my game and was taking advantage of Roshni di's empty place. Dad and Rehan bhai also believed that. They thinks that I made some plan for getting the place of CEO and your property, that's why just after your death instead of mourning I...... I called lawyer and became owner of everything.

Lucifer Bhai also left to Italy without any information. He didn't even contacted me. So it's clear that he also thinks the same.

My friends didn't even contacted me since I became CEO.

No one wants to keep relationship with me. No one wants me. Everyone........"

-"Zoya." A voice came from door. I turned and found Jay. He also came and sat on floor besides me.

-"Jay?" I whispered.

-"Why are you crying Zoya? Your tears are very precious. Don't waste them for the people who don't even worth them." I looked at him confused.

"Zack told me everything. I know how she......"

I looked down and more tears from my eyes.

-"I'm not crying for them Jay. I'm....... I'm crying on my stupidity. Because of which I was thinking that even Faisal left, still I have everyone with me. I have many people who loves me."

-"Zoya......"

-"You were the one who made me believe that right?" I asked looking at him.

"But you was wrong. My parents, mom, dad, Rehan bhai, Lucifer bhai, where are they? You told me that these all people loves me and are with me, right?" I asked and he looked down.

"They thinks that I planned Faisal's death. They thinks that I was behind Faisal's money that's why I immediately became CEO. But Jay you know that why I did that. I never wanted Faisal's money. I just wanted him and his love. I just wanted a happy life with him. I wanted his hapiness. I was never behind anything else."

-"I know Zoya. I know how pure your soul is. You can never ever see him hurt. I know you Zoya. You loved him more than yourself."

-"Then why they can't see that? Tell me. You told me to live for the people who loves me. But no one loves me. I'm all alone. Now I have no one. No one even wants me. I'm just a burden. Then for whom I should live?" I asked and wiped my tears. I looked away and whispered to myself.

"Mom was right. Why I'm still alive? No one wants me. I should go and die somewhere. No one will care if I died. I should........"

-"ZOYA!" He yelled holding my shoulder and turning me to face him.

"What the hell are you saying? You're believing her words?"

-"She was right Jay. No one wants me. I'm a burden, then why I should live?"

-"You're not a burden Zoya. You're an angel. Mr. Khan used to call you angel right?" He asked and I nodded while tears fell from my eyes.

"Did Mr. Khan ever called you unwanted or a burden?"

-"No Jay. He...... he wanted me. I was his Jaan."

-"Then how can you say that you're unwanted? Zoya. Your life is very precious, you have so much responsibilities. Future of thousands of people depends on you. You're a CEO Zoya."

-"I know Jay. But I can't bear this pain anymore. These six months were like torture. I can't live like this, without any aim, without any hope for a better tomorrow. Because everyday will be same, without him."

-"So what you want to do? Commit suicide again?" He spoke mocking. I looked down.

"Zoya. You've to learn how to live in this cruel world. You're becoming an adult Zoya. You've to learn to take care of yourself. You've to become strong."

-"He also used to say that." I whispered and memories of that day when he scolded me for going out in snow for hot choco and how he told me to learn to take care of myself, flashed in front of me.

More tears fell from my eyes. I looked down and cried bitterly while sobbing.

-"Hey buddy......" He hugged me and I speak in between of my sobs.

-"Why it's happening to me Jay?......What wrong I've done? Why........ why everyone left me? Why no one wants me? Why?!" I just cried hugging him.

-"You're not alone Zoya. I'm with you."

-"Why?" I whispered.

-"Because you're my best friend. My one and only friend. This is the only relation I have left in my life. I have no one except you buddy. Don't make me orphan again."

He just caressed my head comforting me. My eyelids fell heavy due to continuously crying and I don't know when I fell asleep.

28 SEPTEMBER

-"I'm sorry Zoya. I won't be able to join you as I have very important meeting."

-"It's okay Jay. Work is more important."

-"Thanks for understanding. And sorry again."

-"It's fine Jay. You know it........... " I got a call. "Jay. I'm getting another call, I'll call you later."

-"Okay. Take care." I answered another call while stopping car in front of orphanage. Yes. I learned driving and I've gotten my licence last week.

-"Hello."

-"Hello beautiful. Celebrating birthday of your late husband with orphan children. How kind hearted you are."

-"Why you called me?" It's the same man.

-"Let's chit chat a bit."

-"Why you called me again? Speak clearly."

-"Fine then. A child is with me. Her name is Catherine. You know her beautiful?"

-"Catherine? What the hell are you speaking?!" I shouted.

-"Don't shout. Your single step can take life of a small kid."

-"Look, please don't do anything to her. She is innocent. Please."

-"I will not do anything just because you are saying this gorgeous. But you have to come to save her."

-"What?"

-"Yes beautiful. Come and take your little friend."

-"But why should I believe you?"

-"Fine don't believe me. But firstly please answer a video call."

I immediately answered it and in that, little Catherine was tied to a chair and a man was pointing gun to her head.

-"Zoya aunty! Please save me! These uncles are very bad. They are hurting me. I am feeling very scared." She speak with her sweet voice. And it was obvious that she was crying.

-"Catherine. Don't cry baby."

-"Aunty! Please save me!"

-"Catherine........." Immediately the screen went black and a voice came.

-"Have mercy on this little soul. Come fast if you want her to be alive. I want to talk to you. I'm texting address and......

Don't try to inform anyone, not even that so called friend of yours." The call ended.

I found Ms. Jones coming to me. I walked to her.

-"Ms. Jones, Catherine?"

-"Some men came took her. They were carrying guns. They said that if we inform to police Or anyone then they'll kill her." She speak crying.

-"She'll come safely. Trust me."

I immediately sat back in car and drove to that address.

I stopped the car. It took 40 minutes to reach there. This is an under construction building in a very lonely area. I got down and looked around. This place is very scary. I slowly moved in.

-"You came." A voice came from side and I got scared. I found a tall big man.

-"Who..... who are you?" I asked hesitantly.

He just held my hand and dragged me inside. I struggled a lot but this man is very much big, like Diego. He left my hand with force and I was going to fall but someone hold me. I looked up and immediately pushed him. It's David.

-"I told you to be gentle to her Blake." David speak to that man.

-"Sorry boss. But this girl seems too stubborn."

-"I agree with you at this."

-"David?" I asked confused.

-"Yes beautiful."

-"You? Where is Catherine?" I shouted. My blood is boiling looking at his face.

-"Don't spoil my mood baby."

-"Tell me where is Catherine?!" I shouted.

-"That little b*tch!"

-"Mind your language Mr. David! Don't you dare say a word about her! Tell me where is she otherwise......."

-"Otherwise?" He held my hand pulling me to himself. I pushed him hardly and got out of his hold. He glared at me.

-"You wanted to talk to me right? Then talk and leave Catherine." I said.

-"Fine. As you wish beautiful. So I have a deal for you. When your husband is dead now, so don't you feels alone?"

-"It doesn't matter with you."

-"It does. Because I'm too worried fot you."

-"Worried? Like your mom? That witch Fiona?"

-"Witch?" He laughed. "You got it right? But you know who her son is? A devil. And this devil can do anything to get what he wants. And I want you."

-"What do you mean?"

-"Why're you so innocent? Till now you didn't understood anything? You don't have any ideas about my game?"

-"Game?"

-"Zoya. Zoya. Zoya. You're so stupid." He laughed along with all of his men who was standing everywhere in this big room. He sat on a big couch in front of me at some distance.

"Even after knowing that it was me who used to call you. You still didn't understood?"

Suddenly my mind started working so fastly. Every blurry image is clear now. Tears filled my eyes and I looked at him

-"You..... You've killed my Faisal?"

-"Yes." He said smirking.

-"Why?" I whispered.

-"Because I wanted to snatch you." He declared and my legs gave up. I fell on floor on my knees. He killed my Faisal. It means that I was right. My Faisal was murdered.

Tears fell from my eyes. Immediately I remembered something. I looked at him

-"If you wanted me then why you tried to kill both of us in that accident, and why you send those men to kill me?"

-"Because I wanted to kill you and make all of them suffer just like that happened when Roshni dead. But then, when I saw you in that party, I wanted you so badly. And then I got to know that you're his wife........" He chuckled and continues "My mind got changed."

-"It means that you've killed Ana and that boy also?"

-"Yes. They were becoming dangerous for my plan."

-"You're a devil." I said hatefully.

-"I told you I am. So now come to me beautiful. I won you." He said patting to his thigh. "Come sit here."

-"No."

-"Don't be stubborn kitten. I can't wait more to touch your soft sexy body. Come to me."

-"Never ever." I said while getting up. He also got up from coach.

-"Don't you feel lonely in night without your husband? Oh....." He stopped suddenly as remembering something.

"I forgot that you and that stray dog wasn't physically close. How controlling was he? How he controlled his desires when he had a f*cking hot godess as his wife?"

-"Because he wasn't a dirty b*stard like you."

-"So now you started abusing? It doesn't suits a good girl like you." He walked near me and I walked back. He continued coming to me. My heart started throbbing in fear.

-"Don't come near me."

-"Don't be a fierce kitten. Your ravishing body is mine now. Let me have you sexy." He pulled me close holding my waist. I kicked him there with my knee where sun never shines and he fell down growling in pain.

-"Catch her!" He shouted and those men started moving to me. I found a gun. I immediately hold it and pointed it to David.

-"I'll kill him if anyone dared to come near me."

-"She can't do anything. She's a weakling. Catch her." David speak.

-"I'm not kidding. I'm serious."

-"She can't shoot me. Go and kill that kid."

-"No!" I shouted and shot his leg.

Blood started oozing from his leg. I am feeling really scared but in front of these devils I can't show. I've to save myself and this little girl.

-"Got your proof? Now bring Catherine otherwise I'll shoot his head." I put gun on his head.

-"Bring that child!" David shouted and one mem ran to a door. The man came back with Catherine. She ran and hugged me.

-"You came aunty."

I hugged her back but immediately gun fell from my hand. That Blake hit my hand by throwing an iron rod. Immediately another man came and snatched Catherine from me.

-"No. Catherine." A more man came and hold my hand. Now these men are surrounding near David.

-"You've not done right Zoya. You'll pay for it."

I looked around and found all men coming to David

-"If you can't be mine, then you'll be of no one. I've already snatched you from Faisal, now I'll also snatch you from that lover of yours." David speak.

-"Who lover?"

-"That backstabber, Jay welson."

-"Sir we've to take you hospital." A man spoke.

-"Take care of her Blake ." He said and he left with two man.

-"I'll kill you in front of this little b*tch." Blake said and came to me.

-"No. Please let her go." I begged.

-"We'll leave no one."

He walked to me and I tried to run but two men caught me. I wriggle to get out of their hold. But they are very strong compared to me. Blake kicked on my stomach and I fell down crying in pain. He didn't stopped. He clutched my hair and moved his face near mine.

-"Please leave us."

-"You're so beautiful. Now I understood that why boss was crazy behind you. I would have loved to f*ck you, but duty comes first. Have a safe journey to heaven."

He speak and hit my head with his gun. He got up and walked away.

-"Kill them." He ordered and disappeared in darkness.

Those men came around me and I just remember a lot of pain.

I heard a faint voice of Jay.

-"Zoya!"

-"Jay......" I whispered and everything went dark.
