Chapter 157
Sir Your Wife Already Signed the Divorce Paper
Chapter 157 Chairman and President
Aaron realized that Henryâs move was for the company and didnât say anything.
Most of the shares were in the hands of Layla and would be divided again. It was only natural for Troy to get more shares, given his contributions to the
company.
The other shareholders, after their initial shock, quickly accepted this fact.
Aaron was busy with his own catering company and didnât know much about the companyâs business. The shareholders didnât trust him to take the chairmanâs position.
Emily had been living abroad for years and rarely interfered with company affairs.
Nicolas had no shares and had always been in the research and development center.
Layla didnât understand business operations.
After considering all options, no one was more suitable for the chairmanâs position than Troy. However, it felt strange to think that the Troy would be the chairman while Aaron would be the president.
Jarvisâs expression was incredibly complex.
His proposal to dismiss Troy was based on the assumption that Henry Marshall was in good health. Jarvis never expected the sudden death of Henry Marshall.
Jarvis had to admit that the morale of the company was only stabilized with Troy as chairman.
Jarvis glanced at Leo.
Leo looked down, his expression cold, as if lost in thought.
Before the death of Henry, he left a will that pushed Troy to the position of chairman. This was a sign of dissatisfaction with the presidentâs personnel changes and deliberate targeting of Leo. If the chairman deliberately hindered him, the presidentâs manoeuvre would be limited.
Both were grandsons of Henry. Leo also held a senior position in the company. Although his projects werenât booming, they hadnât encountered any significant issues. Why was Henry so biased?
Or did Leo do something that Henry couldnât tolerate?
When Lane informed Troy of the shareholdersâ meeting results, Troy had just returned to his villa.
Imogen had already started eating. Troy finally felt relieved and could take a break.
Troy stood on the balcony on the second floor, lit a cigarette, and took a deep drag. His emotions were mixed.
Troy had never expected this outcome.
âBefore Grandpaâs death, Grandpa had met with Sarah. Troy thought Grandpa would be highly disappointed in him, but he didnât expect Grandpa to choose still to protect him.â
âWhat had he done to deserve such treatment from Grandpa?â
Troy held the cigarette between his index and middle fingers, gently tapped off the ash, turned around, leaned against the railing, and saw everything inside the villa.
They had spent all three years of their marriage here.
Their lives were deeply intertwined, inseparable.

This place held all their memories, good and bad.
Soon, after they returned from Gracehaven Church, he would move out, and there would be no trace of Imogen in his future life.
His phone rang.
It was a video call from Emily.
A little girl appeared on the screen as soon as the call connected. She was adorable with her round face and twinkling eyes.
Emily stood beside her and said, âTroy is on the line, Grace. Say hi.â
âTroy!â Grace shouted, âLong time no see!â
In front of the child, Troy showed a rare smile. âLong time no see, Grace.â
His smile was tinged with bitterness.
Troy thought of the unborn child.
âIf he had been born and reached four or five years old, he would probably be as cute as Grace, right?â
âTroy do you miss me? I miss you so much. Are you at your home in New York City now?â Grace asked.
âYes, I miss you, and Iâm at home,â Troy replied, showing her the surroundings.
âHmph! I donât believe you! You have Imogen now. How can you miss me?â Grace looked behind Troy, âTroy, whereâs Imogen?â
Troyâs expression stiffened. âImogen is sick. Sheâs in the hospital.â
Grace looked worried. âAh? Injections hurt. Iâm most afraid of injections. When will Imogen come back?â
âIn a few days.â
âTroy, you should give her cake after Imogen gets her injection. It wonât hurt after eating cake.â
Troy couldnât help but smile. âOkay, Iâll give her cake.â
Emily took the phone and said to Grace. âGrace, go do your homework.â
Considering the time difference, it was dinner time in Los Angeles, but New York City was lunch time and Grace had just had dinner.
Hearing Emilyâs words, Grace pouted. âI want to talk to Troy.â
Emily knew this was just a way for Grace to avoid homework.
âNo cake if you donât do your homework.â
Faced with the choice between Troy and her cake, Grace ultimately chose the cake. She waved to Troy. âTroy, I will do my homework. Bye! Kiss!â
âGo ahead, study hard, and Iâll visit you when I have time.â
Only Emily remained on the screen.
Emily looked at Troyâs face and asked, âHavenât you been resting well lately? You look haggard.â
âYes.â Troy replied, taking another drag from his cigarette.
âWhen did you start smoking?â Emily was surprised.
âRecently.â

âYou know the results of the shareholdersâ meeting, right? Henry still cares about you.â
Troy lowered his eyes. âI know. I let him down.â
âWhatâs there to feel guilty about? Maybe in his last moments, Henry realized he shouldnât have tied you and Imogen together.â
Emilyâs speculation was unlikely, and Troy didnât respond.
Emily continued, âI heard Imogen is pregnant. Is she in the hospital for fetal protection?â
Troy paused momentarily, then said, âNo, she had a miscarriage.â
Emily was taken aback. âItâs probably for the best. Otherwise, it would be even harder to break with a child. Now that your grandfather is gone, when are you getting a divorce?â
âWait until sheâs recovery.â
âThatâs good. What about Sarah? After your divorce, you should marry Sarah quickly. Sheâs been waiting for so many years.â
âSarah caused my grandfatherâs death and is now missing. I wonât marry her. Emily, please donât bring this up again.â
âItâs okay if you donât marry Sarah. I know a girl here, sheâ¦â
âEmily!â Troy interrupted. âI donât plan to find someone else after the divorce. You donât need to worry about me.â
âIâm just looking out for you. Youâre almost thirty, and because of your grandfatherâs wrong decision, youâve wasted three yearsâ¦â
âMy grandfatherâs decision was right!â Troy said firmly, âIf not for him, I might never have understood my heart.â
Emily was shocked. âTroy, that Imogen hasnât bewitched you have you? Sheâ¦â
âEmily, I have things to do. Iâm hanging up now.â
Troy decisively ended the video call.
Emily called again, but Troy declined.
Troy put out his cigarette and was about to return to rest when he saw a black car approaching and stopping in front of his villa.
