Chapter 194 You Who Canât Be Seen
Troy took Imogen to the hospital for a checkâup.
On the way, Imogen sent a message to Charlie. [Charlie, are you okay? I got stepped on and injured. Iâm heading to the hospital now. You go back to the hotel and wait for me.]
Charlie replied with an emoji that seemed to express relief after a close call.
[Iâm fine.]
[Goodness, these fans are like a cult!]
[Is your injury serious?]
Imogen sent. [Not serious. Donât worry.]
Charlie sent. [Did you go to the hospital alone? Where are you right now? Iâll come with you.] Imogen glanced at Troy in the driverâs seat next to her. [Iâve already left the airport now. Just wait for me at the hotel.]
After a few seconds, Charlie suddenly replied. [Imogen, I think I just saw dimwit earlier!]
Imogenâs heart skipped a beat, and she glanced at Troy guiltily. She felt like she had been caught in the act, just like you secretly met your ex but got stumbling upon by their current partner. [Are you sure you didnât mistake someone else for him? How could he be here?]
After sending the message, Imogen stared at the screen anxiously, her heart racing.
[Itâs probably my mistake. I canât talk to you anymore. The bus is here. Iâll head back to the hotel and wait for you.]
[Okay.] Imogen sighed with relief.
Imogenâs examination showed a mild concussion, and the doctor advised her to rest for a few days.
In addition, Imogen had numerous bruises on her body. The doctor prescribed an ointment to promote blood circulation and relieve stasis.
Troy held the ointment in his hand, then turned to Imogen and said, âLetâs go. Iâll take you back to the hotel.â
Imogen glanced at the ointment in his hand several times, but Troy acted as if he hadnât noticed. and instead put the ointment into his pocket.
Imogen had to speak up, âCould you give me the ointment? Iâll go back on my own.â
Troy stared at her with an unfriendly gaze. âAre you going to tear down the bridge now you have
crossed the river?â
Imogen averted her gaze nervously, tried to sound tough, and said, âIâve already been examined, and Iâm fine. I can go back to the hotel on my own. If you take me back, Charlie might see us.â
âWhatâs the problem if she sees us? Are we doing something we shouldnât?â
âItâs you who canât be seen.â
Troy smiled. âLet me put it differently then. Iâm heading back to the hotel, so itâs not a big deal to give you a ride on the way, right?â
Imogen found no words to say.
How could she forget? Since Troy had been following her, he would definitely be staying at the same hotel as her!
Back to the hotel room, Imogen stood at the doorway, glanced at Troy, and said, âIâm here now. You can go.â
Troy didnât even take a step back. âArenât you going to invite me in?â
Imogen shook her head firmly and said, âNo!â
âYou have injuries on your back. How are you going to apply the ointment by yourself?â
âI can ask Charlie to help me with it.â Imogen said cautiously. She kept a close eye on Troy to make sure he didnât overstep any boundaries.
âFine, then you go inside. Once youâre in, Iâll leave.â Troy conceded and handed her the ointment. Imogen looked at him skeptically, took the ointment, and asked, âReally?â
âReally.â
Imogen took out the room key from her pocket, swiped it, and with a beep, the door opened.
A sudden force struck her from behind as she turned to say something to Troy.
With a bang, the room door opened and closed.
By the time Imogen realized what was happening, she was already pressed against the inside of the room door by Troy.
Imogen gritted her teeth and spoke with frustration, âTroy! You tricked me again!â
She would be a damn fool if she trusted Troy ever again.
A triumphant smile flickered in Troyâs eyes as he raised a finger to his lips in a shushing gesture. Imogen was about to say something else when she heard Charlieâs voice from outside, âImogen, youâre back? What did the doctor say?â
Imogen clenched her mouth shut and glared at Troy.
After a moment, they heard Charlie muttering to herself, âHuh? Did I hear it wrong?â
When Charlie returned to her room, Imogen immediately pushed Troy away. âGet out!â
Troy took the ointment from her hand without changing his expression. He walked over to the sofa, sat down, and opened the ointment box. âIâll help you apply the ointment. Once itâs done, Iâll leave.â
Imogen raised her hand to her forehead in exasperation.
âIf you want to spend more time with me, you can keep dragging this out.â Troy said with a smirk. Imogen glared at Troy with eyes as sharp as knives.
Resignedly, she grabbed a box of cotton swabs and placed them on the table. Sitting down beside Troy, she lifted her skirt to her knees.
Her once flawless and fair legs were now covered in bruises of various shades. There was even a spot that seemed to have been pressed by a high heel, leaving a deep indentation with broken skin around the edges.
Emotions stirred in Troyâs deep eyes as his large hand gently stroked the bruised skin on Imogenâs legs. âDoes it hurt?â
To be honest, as long as you didnât touch it, it didnât hurt.
But Troyâs touch was too light, as gentle as a feather brushing over her skin, making Imogen shiver with goosebumps.
âIf youâre going to apply the ointment, do it quickly!â
Troyâs face darkened. He squeezed the ointment onto a cotton swab and applied it to one of the bruised areas.
âAh!â Imogen gasped, caught off guard by the sudden pain. âTroy, canât you be more gentle?â
âSorry, you said to do it quickly, so I forgot about the pressure.â Troy said it casually as he squeezed a bit more ointment.
Imogen glared at him again in frustration.
This bastard Troy must be doing this on purpose!
The ointment applied to her skin was cooling and soothing.
As Imogen looked up, she saw Troyâs serious expression. His gaze was focused and concentrated, as if he was dealing with something important.
From Imogenâs perspective, Troyâs long and thick eyelashes were distinct, his nose was high and straight, and his features were wellâdefined.
Suddenly, Troy lifted his gaze, locking his eyes with Imogenâs.
Imogen quickly averted her gaze, pretending to look elsewhere casually.
âIs there any other place on your body thatâs injured apart from your back?â Troy smiled lightly.
âNo.â
âThen lie down on the sofa.â
Imogen laid down on the sofa, remembered something, and turned to look at Troy as he lifted her dress. She quickly got up, holding her dress down, and said, âMy back is fine. You donât need to apply the ointment. You can go now.â
âDonât try to be brave. I promise not to look, and I promise to behave.â
Imogen hesitated.
Troy directly pressed her down, âDonât hesitate already. Itâs not like I havenât seen it before. The injuries are more important.â
Imogen knew that nothing good would come out of Troyâs mouth!
Her dress was lifted up to her back, and the cool breeze made her feel a shiver down her spine, especially on her thighs and buttocks.
The cool ointment was applied to the wounds, and after discarding the cotton swab into the trash bin and placing the ointment on the table, there was a moment of silence. After two seconds, Troy said, âIâm sorry. But you do realize I need to look to apply the ointment, right?â
For a few seconds, Imogen was stunned. Then suddenly, she realized what he meant, and her face turned red. It was hard to tell if it was from embarrassment or anger.
âTroy Marshall! You get out of here!â
Imogen grabbed a pillow and threw it at Troy.
Seeing Imogenâs annoyed expression, Troyâs eyes flickered with a hint of amusement. He caught the pillow and threw it back onto the sofa.
In her anger, Imogen picked it up again and hurled it at Troy.
Troy caught it again and said, âDonât be angry. Iâm leaving now.â
He
put down the pillow and turned to walk out.

âStop right there!â
Suddenly, Imogen called him back again.
Troy stopped in his tracks, looking at Imogen with a puzzled expression, and asked, âDid you suddenly realize you canât bear to part with me?â
Imogenâs lips twitched, and shouted, âDream on, you wish!â
She stood up from the sofa and walked up to Troy, speaking earnestly, âTroy, considering you saved me this time, I wonât hold you accountable for deceiving me. Iâm going back to my country now, and from now on, donât follow me anymore!â
