Chapter 213
Sir Your Wife Already Signed the Divorce Paper
Chapter 213 You Donât Want to See Me
Imogen was waiting for the food to be served when the phone on the table rang. Troyâs name was on the screen.
âAuntie, itâs Uncle Troyâs phone number.â Grace was sharp enough to see the name.
Imogen paused for a moment, picked it up, and answered it, âHello?â
âAre you at home now? Iâll pick Grace up.â
Imogen took the phone away, looked at Grace next to her, and said, âGrace, your uncle is coming to pick you up. Are you going back with me at night? Or are you going back with your uncle after dinner?â
Grace pretended to think about it and said obediently, âYou are very tired today. I will go with Uncle after dinner.â
back
âOkay, then Iâll let him come over.â
Imogen put the phone to her ear. âWe are in a restaurant, and the food hasnât been served yet.â
She glanced at the time. âCome around six thirty.â
Troy paused for a moment. âIâm just near you. Iâll go there now.â
Without giving Imogen time to refuse, he hung up the phone directly. Imogen was speechless.
The grilled fish was served quickly along with other side dishes.
This restaurant was famous for its grilled fish, which was quite fresh and tasty.
Grace was very satisfied.
But she didnât forget the business and kept paying attention to the entrance of the restaurant. After several minutes, Troy entered the restaurant.
Graceâs eyes lit up. She directly waved at Troy. âUncle, over here!â
Troy looked over from a distance and saw Imogen and Grace sitting together. Both Imogen and Grace were quite pretty. They looked alike and seemed to be the mother and daughter.
It would be great if Grace were really their daughter.
A smile appeared on Troyâs face, and he walked toward the dining table. He glanced at the fish in the pot. âDid
you just start?â
âYes.â
Before Imogen could speak, Grace said, âUncle, have you had dinner? Do you want to eat together? The grilled fish is delicious.â
Troy sat down opposite the two, looked at Imogen, and smiled, âI havenât had dinner yet. Do you mind if I join you?â
Imogen said indifferently, âI do.â
âAuntie, why donât we let Uncle join us?â Grace held Imogenâs hand and shook it gently.
Imogen glared at Troy but said nothing.
Troy pursed his lips, knowing that Imogen was still angry, so he sat down on his seat, asked the waiter to bring a set of tableware, and ordered some side dishes that Imogen and Grace liked. âGrace, where did you go with your aunt today?â Troy asked casually.
Grace narrated excitedly. Her narration was clear and very logical. She was so smart.
Graceâs
A woman at the table next to them didnât pay attention to them at first but was attracted voice later. She couldnât help but ask Imogen, âExcuse me. May I ask how old your daughter is? She speaks so fluently. My son is in elementary school, but he canât speak as clearly as this little girl.â
Grace said with a smile, âI am four years old, madam.â
âYouâre just four years old!â The woman was surprised, and she looked at Grace with admiration in her eyes. âOh, you are a good teacher to educate the children. The little girl is smart and polite. Sheâs so cute! The girl with such goodâlooking parents will be beautiful when she grows up.â
Imogen smiled and explained, âShe is not my daughter, but my niece.â
The woman was stunned when she heard this. âIâm sorry. This girl really looks like your husband. I thought it was your daughter.â
When the woman was talking, she glanced at Troy who was opposite Imogen.
Imogen was a little embarrassed and glanced at Troy, too. âHe is not my husband.â
âOh, I see. You must be siblings, right? The little girl is his daughter.â The woman slapped her forehead, pointed at Troy, and said to Imogen.
Grace explained, âMadam, he is not my father. He is my uncle.â
âOh! Iâm sorry.â The woman turned her head away in embarrassment.
Troy removed the fishbone and put the fish into Imogenâs plate. Then he said in a gentle voice, âDonât just talk. Eat.â
Imogen looked up at him and put down her fork expressionlessly. âIâm full. Since youâre here, you can take care of Grace. Iâll go back first.â
After saying that, she said goodbye to Grace. âGrace, I have to goâ¦â
Grace looked disappointed. âIâm so reluctant to part with you, and you didnât even eat fish, so you must not be full.â
âIâm fullâ¦â
Since Imogen bought a camera, she must go to scenic spots to take pictures as practice. She had taken Grace to wander around New York City and took pictures along the way.
Troy put down his fork directly, frowned, and stared at Imogen. âYou donât want to see me, right?â âYou know if I want to see you or not, Mr. Marshall.â
Troy was speechless.
She was getting more and more rude to him now.
âImogen, you donât have to be so aggressive. Sit down and eat.â
âIs it necessary?â
Troy was choked.
He didnât know what to say.
He never knew Imogen was so sharp.
Before marriage, she was always very polite to him, and after marriage, she was even more obedient to him.
He could feel that in their marriage, even if she didnât like him, she still wanted to go on
peacefully with him.
Now the child was gone, and they got divorced. She no longer wanted to respect him anymore.
Imogen ignored Troy and said to Grace, âGrace, goodbye.â
âAuntie, I want to play with you tomorrow, okay?â Grace raised her head. Her face was stained with fish meat, and he blinked her big eyes like a little cat.
Intellectually, Imogen knew that he shouldnât have too much contact with Grace because it would make her get entangled with Troy.
But emotionally, Imogen really couldnât refuse Grace.
Probably because her child was gone, she was easily touched by children, especially a cute and obedient girl like Grace.
âOkay, then tomorrowâ¦â
âCome and pick up Grace tomorrow. I have something else to do, so I canât send her,â Troy suddenly said coldly.
Imogenâs face darkened. She ignored Troy, looked at Grace, smiled, and said, âGrace, Iâll pick you up at 9:30 tomorrow morning.â
âOkay, Auntie. Goodbye.â
Imogen smiled and rubbed Graceâs head. âSee you tomorrow.â
âSee you tomorrow.â
Imogen turned and left.
Seeing Imogen leave, Grace turned her head and said to Troy with a smile, âUncle, a handsome gentleman wanted to invite my aunt to dinner this morning, but she refused.â
Troy frowned. âWho is that man?â
âHe said his name was Erik.â
Troy was surprised.
He thought it was Liam. After all, Liam was not able to have dinner with Imogen last time, so it was very possible to make another appointment.
Unexpectedly, it was Erik Imogen who met in Norway!
They were still in touch!
âUncle, Erik wants to take Aunt away from you. You must work hard and donât let him make it.â
Troy smiled, âI will.â
The biggest obstacle in front of him was not Erik but Liam.
After returning home, Imogen cooked some noodles for herself.
When she was eating, the phone rang.
-She checked it and found that it was a message from Noah.
She couldnât wait to read it.
Noah said: [Ms. Forbes, some information has been found out so far, and I will explain it to you in detail.]
