Chapter 221
Sir Your Wife Already Signed the Divorce Paper
Chapter 221 It Would Be Indecent
Imogen quickly drew and raised her hand and said, âIâm thirsty. Please get me a coffee. Cappuccino, please.â
She thought as she held Grace in one hand and the coffee in the other, she wouldnât touch Erikâs hand again.
Erikâs hand froze for a moment and withdrew silently. He found a cappuccino with a straw from the bag and handed it to Imogen. âHere.â
âThanks.â
âYouâre welcome.â
When they got to the movie theater, Imogen searched the big screen for the animated films and shows currently in theaters, then searched the internet for descriptions, and let Grace pick one. The opening time was two oâclock, with about twenty minutes to go.
Imogen looked around, and there was a row of seats on the right side of the lobby. She led Grace over to sit.
When she entered the theater twenty minutes later, Imogen realized that most people there were with children.
The beginning of the movie was already playing on the big screen.
The three of them took their seats, Imogen in the center with Grace and Erik beside her.
Even though it was an animated movie, the plot was not childish, and Imogen gradually became immersed in it.
On the other hand, Erik wasnât as focused, turning his head to look at Imogen occasionally. The third time he looked at Imogen, he inadvertently met Graceâs pretty eyes.
With an innocent look, she asked in a small voice, âWhy do you keep looking at Imogen, Brother Erik?â
Erik treated Grace like she was a child who didnât know anything and rubbed his nose a little awkwardly. âNah, I was just⦠casually looking around.â
He withdrew his eyes and looked at the screen.
On his fourth look, Erik inadvertently locked eyes with Grace again. He immediately turned his head away, never daring to look Imogenâs way again.
The movie ended around four oâclock, and the audience continuously came out of the theater. Erik asked as if nothing happened, âWhere are we going next? Thereâs a new mall opening up north of the city. Do you want to go over there?â
Grace sneered in her heart. Did this man still want to keep following them?
She yawned and hugged Imogenâs thigh. âImogen, Iâm sleepy. I want to sleep.â Imogen touched Graceâs head. âLetâs
âOkay.â Grace nodded repeatedly.
Imogen looked up and gave another time.â
go
back then?â
Erik an apologetic smile. âWeâll leave then. Letâs have dinner together
Erik had to agree, âOkay. Did you park your car over by the restaurant? Iâll go over there with you.â
Imogen was about to refuse but held back when she was about to say it and nodded gently.
The three slowly walked back to the parking lot in front of the restaurant.
Grace let go of Imogenâs hand and ran to the car.
At this moment, a black car pulled in on the side.
Imogen quickly pulled Grace back a few steps. She suddenly stepped on her feet and fell backward unsteadily.
Erik held her up quickly. The sweet scent of her body hit his nose, causing him to wander. âAre you okay?â
âFine.â Imogen helped him to his feet and quickly got out of his arms. Her lips lifted into a smile, her beautiful eyes adding a little more charm as they curved up. âThanks.â
Erik was enchanted by her. It wasnât until Imogen called out to him that he snapped back to his senses, blushing slightly and shyly. âYou⦠Youâre welcome.â
âWeâll
âOkay.â
go first, then?â
Erik kept looking at Imogen. When Imogen got into the car, he looked back and went after her. âBy the way, Imogen, your coffee.â
Imogen stopped and took the bag from him. âI almost forgot.â
Imogen got in, buckled her seatbelt, and started the car.
Through the window, she waved at Erik outside and stepped on accelerator.
The car merged into traffic.
Imogen looked at the road in front of her and said to Grace in the back seat, âGrace, if youâre going to be sleepy, take a nap in the car first.â
Grace answered, âImogen, Iâm not sleepy.â
Imogen was speechless.
She looked in the rearview mirror at Grace, who was very much awake, with not a trace of sleepiness, and smiled at Imogen.
Imogen smiled helplessly, realizing that she had just pretended to be sleepy. âSo where are we going to play now? Or should we just go home?â
âI want to see the cat.â
âOkay, Iâll take you home then.â
As soon as they got home, Grace wanted to find Mochi.
Imogen had washed the fruit, taken the snacks, and had them all on the table.
Seeing the two cups of coffee on the table, Imogen thought of Grace and asked in a low voice, âGrace, come here.â
Grace was teasing her cat, and when she heard that, she turned her head to look at Imogen. When she saw her face was angry, she knew she would be counted out.
She felt very guilty, so she pretended to look at Imogen innocently. âImogen, whatâs wrong?â
âCome here,â Imogen said.
âIâm⦠Iâm playing with Mochi.â
âCome here first. You can play with Mochi later.â
Grace couldnât pretend anymore. She lowered her head in shame and walked over. âImogen, whatâs up?â
Imogen opened the page of her chat with Erik and placed it on the table in front of her. âExplain
this to me.â
Grace played with her forefinger and whispered, âYou told me to order it.â
Imogen pinched her bulging stomach. âGrace! How much can you eat? Dare you say you didnât order that much on purpose? Huh?â
Grace leaned back, almost lying on the couch, unwilling to admit it. She shook her head. âNo. I just wanted to eatâ¦â
Imogen scratched her crotch with her hand. âDonât you admit it yet? You just wanted to screw your Brother Erik out of his money!â
Grace giggled at the tickling. âImogen, no! Donât tickle me. Haâha. Donât tickle me. I admit I did it on purpose!â
Imogen stopped. âHmph. Youâre still trying to trick me?â
Grace still couldnât help but laugh. âItâs all because he wants to steal Imogen from me!â
Imogen transferred the lunch money to Erik and sent a message in front of Grace: [Sorry. Grace was thoughtless. I didnât realize the lunch would cost that much. Iâll transfer the money to you.]
Grace was very surprised to see Imogenâs transfer. With a puzzled look on her face, she asked, âImogen, why did you transfer the money to him?â
She muttered, âDidnât he say he wanted to treat you?â
Imogen explained seriously, âGrace, Iâm telling you, Brother Erik did say he would treat you, but you should consider his wallet as well when you order. He just got his internship and canât afford anything too expensive.
âIf you donât think about him, I have to think about him. Iâm his friend, and thereâs no way Iâm going to watch you humiliate him. Itâs normal for you to prefer Troy and dislike Erik and trick him. I wonât accuse you as long as you donât go overboard. Iâll take the blame.
âBut I donât want you to trick him. Heâs my friend, no matter what. Although you are still young and donât understand many things, I wonât blame you, but I will teach you. And then youâll have to remember and not make any more mistakes.â
Grace pouted. âOkay. Then I wonât do it againâ¦â
âGood girl.â
Erik quickly replied: [Imogen, we agreed that it was on me this time. I canât take the money.]
He had accepted the money last time in order to have the chance to spend time with Imogen again. But this time, if he received it again, it would be too indecent.
Imogen, however, replied to him directly: [You keep it this time. Iâll let you treat me next time,
okay?]
Erik: [Okay!] Erik didnât even think about it and replied immediately, sending a leaping emoji that didnât hide his inner joy.
As long as he could meet up with Imogen again, it didnât matter if there was a loss of demeanor. Erik: [Imogen, when is the next time?]
