Chapter 269
Sir Your Wife Already Signed the Divorce Paper
Chapter 269 Breakup
âNow, just call Erik and tell him to break up.â Troy looked at her expressionlessly.
Imogen was silent for a few seconds, then moved her fingers with a hesitant expression on her face.
Regarding Erikâs love affair, she did it immorally. She originally wanted to break up with Erik face to face and be more solemn, and she could appease Erikâs emotions.
Breaking up on the phone and in front of Troy was not within the scope of Imogenâs plan.
Seeing Imogenâs silence, Troy glanced at her, with a sense of pressure that couldnât be ignored in his tone. âDonât want to call him? If you donât want to, then let me do it.â
He took out his mobile phone from his coat pocket and made a gesture to call Erik.
It was easy for him to get Erikâs phone number.
Seeing this, Imogen immediately grabbed his wrist, frowned, and looked at him dissatisfied, with a tense expression and tight mouth corners. âTroy, you should not do that!â
Troy raised his eyes, and their eyes crossed. His brows were slightly raised, and his eyes uncompromising. âShouldnât? Iâve always been like this, didnât you already know?â
Imogen was speechless.
This man played a rascal!
firm and
The two looked at each other, sparks flying, as if they were engaged in a war without gunpowder. After a few seconds, it was Imogen who finally took a step back, lowered her eyes, leaned against the back of the chair, took out her mobile phone, and called Erik.
âHandsâfree,â Troy reminded.
âYouâre really meddling.â
Imogen rolled her eyes and clicked on handsâfree.
The phone was answered, and Erikâs voice came from the other side of the microphone. âImogen?â
The interior of the car was unusually quiet, and a male voice with a faint sense of electricity came out, with obvious temptation in the tone, which was exceptionally clear.
Imogen hesitated for a moment. âErik.â
Erik, over the phone, seemed to have noticed Imogenâs emotional change, and his voice suddenly became flustered. âImogen, you⦠Do you want to break up
with me?â
âIâm sorry, Erik. I think we should break up.â âImogenâ¦â
Imogen interrupted him and continued, âYou also know that the reason why my last marriage ended in divorce was because my exâhusband and his exâgirlfriend were ambiguous. This incident. had a profound impact on me. I thought about it. After a long time, I found that I still couldnât accept this matter.â
The exâhusband next to her, who was alluded to, glanced at her and lowered his eyes.
Troy already understood that he was very wrong, but the damage had already been done, and now he only wanted to pursue her back and make up for her.
Erikâs voice choked up over the phone. âImogen, Iâm sorry. Iâm really sorryâ¦â
âErik, I donât blame you. I really donât blame you. I know itâs not your fault. Donât blame yourself.â
After saying that, Imogen glared at Troy fiercely.
Troy was like an evil capitalist.
He had no morals, only preferences.
If it werenât for Troy, Erik wouldnât blame himself so much.
Imogen was really afraid that Erik would be too selfâblaming and under too much pressure to get over this hurdle.
But she couldnât tell him the truth.
A few days had passed since that day, and Troy had already cleaned everything up.
With Erikâs youthful heart, he was unwilling to make a fuss, and if he didnât have evidence, he would easily get revenge on Troy, and he was the one who suffered.
It was because of Imogen that Erik was harmed. She lied to a man who was all about her, but now she still wanted to accuse him.
Imogen felt that she was extremely hateful.
Troy rubbed his nose and looked away.
Erik did not stalk but blamed himself very much.
Imogen comforted Erik for a long time and only ended the call after he calmed down a bit.
She turned off the screen, put away the phone, and looked at Troy coolly. âIs it all right?â
âThatâs it.â Troy started the car.
Then, Imogen said, âI have done what you said, and I hope you will fulfill your promise and respect my opinion.â
Troy stared ahead and drove seriously.
Respect her opinion?
That depended on the opinion.
The two returned to the Marshall villa.
Leoâs family and Aaronâs family had all arrived.
As usual, the whole family would celebrate Christmas Eve together tonight.
It was just that there was one person missing from Christmas Eve this time.
Thinking of it, Imogen felt a little sad.
In the living room, Agnes and Judith were sitting next to Layla, chatting together. Leo was sitting on the sofa on the other side, talking to Nicolas next to him.
Grace and Wesley were at the table in the dining room, talking childishly.
Imogen greeted them and sat down beside Agnes. âAgnes.â
Agnes nodded with a smile.
But her smile was a bit forced, as if it was forced out.
Looking at her face again, it seemed that her spirit was not in a good state, and there was a faint blue under her eyes.
Imogen asked concernedly, âAgnes, are you feeling unwell?â
Leo glanced at Agnes upon hearing this.
Agnes was taken aback, then smiled at Imogen again. âNo.â
Agnes glanced at Troy, who came in behind Imogen, leaned towards Imogen, and asked in a low voice, âAre you reconciled with Troy?â
âNo.â Imogen raised her head and glanced at Troy.
Troy sat down beside Nicolas, and his long legs crossed, and his posture was elegant.
The three brothers sat side by side. At a glance, it was clear that Leo and Troy were bloodârelated brothers from the same family. But Leo looked somewhat similar to Nicolas, and Troy was the exception.
Layla and Judith also looked up.
For some reason, Judith began to complain to Nicolas, âHe is 27, and he doesnât have a girlfriend.â Nicolas leaned against the back of the sofa, smiled helplessly, and reached out to stroke the back
of his neck.
The scars from the resort were still there.
Nicolas said, âMom, donât worry. I already have a girlfriend candidate.â
Judith looked surprised. âReally? Tell me who it is?â
âYou will know when the time comes.â Nicolas left suspense.
After talking for a while, Imogen felt bored, greeted Layla, and went upstairs.
After Imogen stayed in the room for a while, there was a knock on the door outside.
Imogen got up, opened the door, and saw Grace outside.
Grace turned her head and looked left and right. Like a thief, she rushed into the room and quickly closed the door.
Imogen asked amusedly, âWhatâs wrong with you?â
Grace said solemnly, âIâm afraid of being seen by my grandma.â
Imogen stopped laughing when she heard this. She lowered her body, hugged Grace, and said in a warm voice, âItâs okay. Donât be afraid. Itâs okay if your grandma sees it. You can play with whoever you want.â
Grace looked at Imogen with big eyes. âBut, Iâm afraid grandma will be angry with me and leave me alone.â
Seeing the little girl being sensible, Imogen felt heart ached. âIf your grandma doesnât want you, and there are Troy and me.â
Imogen said, âTroy said that if you want to stay in New York, you could register with him.â âRegister with him?â Grace asked, tilting her head.
âWell, you register with Troy in the name of father and daughter, and then you will be the daughter of Troy and me, so donât be afraid, and we are all your relatives.â
Graceâs eyes lit up, and she threw herself into Imogenâs arms, almost throwing her on Imogen. The two lay down on the bed together, head to head.
Grace talked childishly about her playing with her new playmate, Wesley.
Grace said, âWesie said that he was very unhappy. His parents had a quarrel, and they havenât
spoken for many days. His mother also said that she would divorce his father.â
