Chapter 279
Sir Your Wife Already Signed the Divorce Paper
Chapter 279 Old Acquaintance
âSorry to keep you waiting.â
âWe have just arrived.â Yohan looked Imogen up and down. âWhatâs the matter with the injury on your forehead? Is it severe?â
âItâs okay. I just accidentally fell.â
âWe havenât seen you for a few years, but you are still as beautiful as you were in college.â
âYouâve got to be kidding.â Imogen said with a sheepish smile, âHann, let me introduce you. These are two of my close friends. This is Charlie, and this is Alex. Alex is also a photographer. The one who doesnât get out of the car is my niece.â
Charlie smiled and said, âHello, handsome, I am Charlie Franco.â
The feeling of sadness would not last long in Charlie. She could always digest it by herself, and soon she looked happy again.
Alex nodded to Yohan. âHello, I am Alex.â
Yohan moved his gaze to Charlie, paused for a moment, looked at Alex, nodded and smiled gentlemanly. âHi, Iâm Yohan Harrington, Imogenâs teacher. When we get to Leeds City, we can discuss with each other.â
Th
latter sentence was addressed to Alex.
Alex responded with a smile, âSure!â
Behind Yohan was a man who just got out of the car. He took the initiative to introduce himself, âHello, three beauties. I am Mr. Harringtonâs assistant. Just call me Caleb.â
Imogen raised an eyebrow. âSo youâre the assistant teacher from the village, Caleb?â
âYes, itâs me.â
âItâs getting late. Letâs get in the car and set off,â Yohan suggested.
âOkay.â
They each returned to the car and headed for Leeds City.
Leeds City was in the neighboring province, south of New York City. Due to its geographical location and terrain, the climate was warm and the seasons were like spring. The natural scenery was beautiful and a good place for folk art collection.
In the car, Grace, who was sitting in the passenger seat, looked back at Imogen in the back seat. âImogen, did you pay attention to their car?â
âWhatâs wrong?â Imogen was puzzled.
âI just saw that there seemed to be another person in their car who didnât get out.â
âIs there any?â Charlie sat in the driverâs seat, looking straight ahead, and answered casually, âI didnât pay attention.â
âYes, you are here to look at other handsome guys!â Alex joked.
âI didnât pay attention either,â Imogen said.
With a straight face, Charlie asked, âWhatâs wrong with appreciating handsome guys? Who wouldnât want a glimpse of someone goodâlooking? Oh, and Imogen, is he taken?â
âI have no idea.â
Alex guessed. âI guess no. He doesnât wear a ring on his hand. If he is married, will his wife allow
him to invite other girls out to play?â
âThatâs right, so I still have a chance,â Charlie said seriously.
âWhat?â Imogen was shocked.
âCharlie, you decided to pursue him so soon?â Alex asked in surprise.
Charlie spared time and glanced at Alex. âI checked his identity before coming here. Guess what I found?â
âWhat did you find?â
âYohan isnât just a renowned photographer. Heâs also the eldest son of the Harringtons from Jubilian City. He used to live abroad, but last year, with his fatherâs health declining, he was called back to take the helm of the family business. Now, heâs the head of the Harrington family.â Alex looked at Imogen in surprise, and asked, âAnd then?â
Charlie laughed. âMy dad is pushing me to go on these blind dates, thinking of handing the family wealth over to his mistressâs son. I couldnât let that happen. But managing the company? Not really my thing. I need some leverage. So⦠Heheâ¦Iâve got to find someone who can handle it. Someone who can keep my dadâs mistress in check so that I donât have to work to get the company back. Yohanâs family is already pretty established, so he wonât be looking to take anything from the Francos. Itâs a winâwin!â
×ת××.
you think Yohan is particularly suitable? Although our identities are quite different, we still have to give it a try. What if he is in love and has to date me?â
Alex couldnât help laughing.
Imogen was silent for two seconds. âIt makes sense. Come on, try to win him over.â
âCharlie,â Just then, Grace called out childishly.
âYes?â
âYou are very good at dreaming.â
âHa ha ha haâ¦â
At around five oâclock in the afternoon, the group arrived in Leeds City, and the car drove into the underground garage of the hotel they had booked.
After Imogen got off the car, she took Grace down, took out her luggage, and walked to the elevator with Alex and Charlie.
Charlie dragged her suitcase and looked around. âWhere are they?â
âTheir car is parked over there. Letâs go up and check in first,â Imogen said.
Charlie muttered, âThere are empty spots here. Why do they have to park so far away?â âWho knows?â
The three of them plus Grace took the elevator to the first floor and checked in the hotel. After entering the identity information, the lady at the front desk gave them the room card. âOkay, your room number is 1605. Take the elevator here to the 16th floor, and turn left to the fourth
room.â
They still booked a threeâbedroom suite together, each with a bedroom, and Grace followed Imogen.
âOkay.â
13:00
Imogen took the room card and walked to the elevator.
Just as the elevator came down, the four of them walked in.
As soon as the elevator door closed, the elevator door coming up from the first floor opened. Then, Yohan and the other two people walked out.
Seeing that there was no one in the hall, Caleb looked around and said to the young man next to Yohan, âThey should have gone up.â
âProbably.â The
young man remained calm.
After resting in the room for a while, everyone was hungry. Imogen asked, âShall we go to the restaurant to eat?â
Charlie, who was slumped on the sofa, immediately sat up and said, âOkay, letâs invite Yohan and the others to join us.â
Imogen raised her eyebrows. âOkay, Iâll ask him.â
âHey, tell me his phone number.â
âOkay.â
Imogen sent Yohan a WhatsApp message, asking if they wanted to eat, and then forwarded his WhatsApp contact card to Charlie.
âHe said see us in the restaurant. Letâs go.â
âWhat?â Charlie took Imogenâs phone in disbelief and saw that Yohan really replied to Imogenâs message on the screen. With a sad face, Charlie asked, âWhy didnât he reply my message?â
Alex patted her shoulder comfortingly. âMaybe he didnât see it.â
Charlie was speechless.
She didnât believe that excuse herself.
Yohan and Caleb were already seated in the restaurant. Seeing that there were only two of them, Alex thought that he had seen it wrong before and forgot about the matter.
They shared a table to eat together. Charlie and Caleb made the atmosphere lively. Although they had just met, Charlie and Caleb did not feel awkward between them.
During dinner, Yohanâs history with Imogen came up. He fondly recounted a few instances, from helping her find a house to rent, to assisting with daily necessities and visa extensions. Every time, he was right by Imogenâs side, ensuring she got what she needed.
Once, Imogen lost her phone in a supermarket at a mall. When she sought help from the mallâs management, they seemed indifferent, likely due to her being a foreigner. It was Yohan who stepped in, persuading them to review the security footage. Thanks to him, they located the thief who had taken her phone.
Coincidentally, Yohan graduated from the same university as Imogen in a related major. He knew the personalities of Imogenâs teachers well and gave her a lot of guidance in her studies. Furthermore, during a Christmas event that year, Imogen was harassed by a wealthy individual who had studied abroad, often referred to as a ârich second generationâ. It was Yohan who intervened, ensuring the man didnât bother Imogen again.
However, what Yohan said became more and more unfamiliar to Imogen. She tried her best to recall it, but she still couldnât remember anything.
âWow, so you two were quite close before,â Charlie remarked, with her eyes shifting between

Yohan and Imogen with a suggestive glint.
Charlie felt that Yohan was also pretty good, not much different from Troy.
As for what she said in the car, although she thought about it, it was mostly meant as a joke.
Imogen pretended not to see Charlieâs eyes and turned to pick up food for Grace.
Grace had long been aware of this photographerâs intention toward Imogen. Grace told herself that she must tell Troy about it when she went back.
When she was almost done eating, Charlie got up and went to the bathroom.
The menâs and womenâs bathrooms shared a row of sinks. While Charlie was washing her hands, someone walked out of the menâs bathroom.
Charlie raised her eyes casually and froze.
