Chapter 370.1
Sir Your Wife Already Signed the Divorce Paper
Chapter 370.1 Died Long Ago I
On the set, Imogen, who had just finished shooting a scene, was reading the script in the dressing
room.
A crew member peeked in at the door and walked in after seeing Imogen, saying, âMs. Forbes, thereâs someone looking for you outside.â
âWho is it?â Imogen looked up from the script.
In this situation, the person must have some connection to the actor themselves. Otherwise, the crew member wouldnât have specifically informed her. If everyone could come without. notification, fans would queue up to see their idols.
âShe said sheâs your mother.â
Imogen was momentarily stunned but quickly regained her composure and calmly said to the crew member, âMy mother passed away over twenty years ago, so that person outside is definitely a scammer. Just send her away.â
The crew member was surprised and thought, âShe should mean her mother has died, right?â
âOkay, Iâll ask her to leave.â
The crew member went to the outside of the set fence by the cars and glanced at Irene sitting in the back seat, thinking, âShe looks decent enough. Who would have thought sheâs a scammer?â
Without hesitation, the crew member told Irene, âYou can leave. Ms. Forbes doesnât want to see
you.â
Irene furrowed her brows as a hint of impatience appeared on her face. âDid you tell her about my identity?â
âI did.â
âWhat did she say?â
âHey, come on. Iâm showing some respect! Do you know what Ms. Forbes said? She said her mother passed away over twenty years ago and that youâre just a scammer! Why are you still hanging around here? Youâd better leave quickly.â
The crew member turned and walked away.
Irene was speechless.
She thought, âNo wonder Imogen hasnât contacted me all these years. Has she been assuming that I am dead?â
The driver asked with a puzzled look, âMadam, what do we do now?â
âWait for a moment,â Irene replied.
She took out her phone and had someone check Imogenâs phone number.
They had spoken before, but it was on a police phone, and Irene hadnât recorded the number. A few minutes later, the number appeared on her phone, and she dialed it.
âMs. Forbes, someone is calling for you.â The assistant handed her the ringing phone. Because of busy work, Imogen hired a driver to take her around and two temporary assistants. One was responsible for her increasing number of photography appointments, and the other was in charge of her work on the set. In addition, there was a dedicated assistant for the foundation. In fact, Imogen didnât really like being called that way, but the assistant preferred it.
Chapter 370.1 Died Long Ago I
The assistant was a senior student who had been admitted to graduate school. She had a few courses last semester but none this semester, and her thesis was almost finished. Thus, she came to work temporarily for a few months, which Imogen thought worked out well because Imogen wouldnât have any more projects after finishing this film.
Imogen glanced at the phone, noticing it was an unfamiliar number from the Jubilian City, and inexplicably thought of Irene.
She told the assistant, âYou take the call and say that Iâm busy with work. Let the person know Iâll take the call after I finish shooting. From now on, handle all unfamiliar calls like this unless they mention itâs an urgent matter. Those with an accompanying note can let me know.â
âOkay, got it.â
Imogenâs gaze fell back on the script, but her thoughts drifted far away.
She thought, âIt has been more than two decades. Why would Irene suddenly come looking for me? It canât just be a matter of motherâdaughter love. There must be something else. But what could it be?â
Only when the people in the makeup room made a sound did Imogen snap back to reality and push the doubts from her mind, continuing to read the script.
On the side, the assistant answered the phone, âHello, Iâm Ms. Forbesâ assistant. May I ask whoâs calling?â
âItâs her mother. Let me speak to her.â
The assistant was stunned for a moment, thinking, âMs. Forbesâ mother? But if she really is Ms. Forbesâ mother, how could it be from an unfamiliar number?â
