Lavender
I sat bored on my throne that only served for dramatic purposes. Violet opened the dramatic doors with the fat Hikkums at his side.
God, that little, stuffed shit is gonna need a wheelchair soon...
I smirked when Violet handed me my phone back. I watched the video and only smirked through it all. If any other but these guys were here, I'd be howling out an acted laugh.
I watched the video again and again, remembering when me, my mate, Violet, and Hikkums's mother reenacted our own scene of my mates favorite movie. I watched it until tears began racing their way down my chin from the familiarity.
"Well,", I chimed after wiping away the tears, "the tradition has made their way to the 2nd generation! Congratulations, Hikkums!"
Hikkums wagged his tail at my praise. Violet on the other hand....
"Thanks to you too, Vio-"
"Don't even force yourself,", he looked me dead in the eye as I clenched my jaw to hold back more tears, "just call me Beta."
"Tch,", I smirked as I leaned back on my throne, "not my fault you guys have the same name~ plus whaddya think'll happen to me when she finds out I call you that?"
It was the Beta's turn to clench his jaw to refrain from crying. They've been together far before I was even in the picture. Traveling rogues in which one of them found their mate and so they both stayed at the pack.
Hikkums's mother was taken in by Violet (my mate) after her owner never returned to pick her up from that dog daycare. The place has done lots of fixing since last time.
"Alph-"
"Stop. Rules aren't the same between you and I.", I said.
He cleared his throat, "Lavender...Axel knew the object for his scent test. That means he's been improving quite drastically.", I didn't expect the Beta to change the subject but I didn't show my surprise.
"Well, obviously! At least he's caught up to the basics. At this rate, he'll be able to join the rest of the pack in their trainings, but then again...he only improved with Forrest."
"So we keep them together?"
"Yeah.", was all I could say without boiling over with jealousy.
The Beta and I closed up our conversation and he walked off with Hikkums tailing him. That dog never did leave his side...
I sighed and looked around the empty throne room. It was lonely and boring in here. I sighed and sunk back into my throne.
Violet it's been 14 years...I'm waiting like you told me...when can I see you again?
Tears made their way down my face once again. It turned into loud sobs echoing in the large, empty, and lonely room. And it made everything dramatic and unreal.

Beta
I knew she was crying right about now, but I knew staying wasn't going to help this time. It's one of those days where she ponders over Violet's words from back then, but with suspicion.
"Stay alive. Wait for me."
It's all her fault. All Violet's fault for causing such pain to Lavender. What mate would wish their beloved to live the rest of their life as a lone wolf? However, it greatly proved the strength of the Alpha. That's why rival packs waited as long as they did. They fear the Alpha that's rumored to be unfazed by the death of her mate, and that's a werewolf's greatest weakness. They just don't see how much it truly affects her. Only I do.
I was deep in thought the entire time as I headed to the house of the Saroon's. Axel's parents. A meeting was scheduled to inform them of the Alpha's words last time. Hikkums, however, I dropped off in my apartment on the way.
I looked up at the house of the family and judged they were doing well by the looks of the house. Us werewolves live in different parts of the city except for the Alpha and Forrest who live in the woods to look over our territory.
I knocked 3 rapid and even knocks.
Footsteps rushed their way to the door with Mrs. Saroon calling out a "Coming!". When the door finally opened, I was splashed with the freshness of their homely scent. They smelled like they usually did but with...pumpkins...
"Oh my! Honey, it's our Beta!", she turned my way again, "Oh yes! Do come in! Do come in! Make yourself comfortable! Alex is baking at the moment. Wanted to use up ALL the pumpkins! Now he's gotta finish them all up or so help me I will KILL him!"
I chuckled at their cute cliché couple ways as Alex yelled from the kitchen, "I'm not wasting! This is how I planned it!"
We took a seat as he cleaned up and covered his baking bowls of whatever so he could join in the conversation.
They stared at me expectantly.
"Well, I will fill you in on the umm important parts from your absence.", I coughed out.
Though they looked like they wanted to ask, they didn't. I continued on.
"We have been concerned, as you know, about the cause of Axel's lack of...skill.", oh if looks could harm, "So we tried a different approach. Instead of training with others, or in private with the leaders, we paired him up with Forrest, his mate, to train him."
They both looked shocked, "So it is true!", the mother gasped, "our son is...he's mated with...oh is he alright? How is he doing? Oh Alex I think we've been a bit to harsh on his punishme-"
"Ms. Saroon, don't worry. Axel is doing fine and yes, Forrest is his mate. But don't worry! Like all mates, they're attached and all...lovey-dovey if you can imagine that...", I looked away knowing that would be impossible for the Forrest to be, not act, lovey-dovey.
They relaxed and let out a sigh of relief. Time for the training report.
"Moving on, Axel's training with Forrest has proved successful! He has greatly improved since the start and actually knows the basics to both healing and fighting. Just recently, the Alpha has assigned the last training to him. Which means, the Alpha believes he can handle 3 trainings at once!"
Alex was mostly excited with the news, "Alexis! Did you hear that? Greatly improved, he said! I can't wait to congratulate our pumpkin!"
By now, they were both lost in their own world filled with only their son. I mentally laughed at Axel's nickname. Pumpkin. Oh this will surely get the gears in Forrest's mind turning. I smirked at the thought.
I answered any questions they had such as why were they not informed that their son found his mate, but I told only what the Alpha said herself. We wrapped up the conversation and I left with the first pumpkin pie that finished cooking. They insisted.
"Have a good night, Alex and Alexis!"
"You too, and thank you Beta!"
"You're welcome.", I laughed at their cheesiness with their names too. Of course they'd name their son with a similar name.
I walked back to the Alpha's throne room to find her asleep from exhaustion in what seemed like an uncomfortable position. I carried her bridal style to her bedroom and laid her on her bed. Leaving a note of where the pumpkin pie came from on the top of the foil that covered it, I placed the pie in the fridge and left.
I opened my apartment door, greeted by Hikkums's wagging tail and dancing self.
"You're finally home!"
"Yeah, sorry for being out so late. Did you sleep?"
"No,", his ears and tails lowered, "I couldn't sleep without you.", he whined.
I smiled at his sweetness, "Let's go to sleep."
"Okay!"
