Ch.4 Countdown - Finally (BL)

August 1, 20xx

Axel

It's 5:07.

Today is the day I may find my mate...

Only 2 more minutes now.

Right now, I'm behind this massive boulder at my training ground. I'm not the first to arrive; our Beta seems to be giving Forrest some information about today's plan and such. So I'm hiding and pretending not to be here.

.....

I look at my watch.

5:08.

AAARRGHGHG!!! I'm suppose to seek my mate and here I am to train!!!!!

I sneak a peek at the two again. Still talking....

I sigh deeply but quietly.

I look at my watch again as it begins the countdown.

I start to panic now. What should I do????? Do I stay for my training or look for my mate????? It's not even guaranteed I'll find my mate today, but still...

Okay okay!! I can just stay to train and once I smell my mate, I DASH OFF!! Yeah!! that sound perfect!!!

No...nonononononononono!! Bad plan! BAD PLAN!!!

No, once I start my training I'll be forced to stay!!!

I'll just make a run for it.

Ah, but I can't disobey my Alpha!!!

No, but this is my mate!! ARGH!!! I can't think straight!!!!!

As soon as I see that number I make a dash for it into the forest. As fast as I possibly can.

Forrest

It's 5:07, the wolf is probably going to be late.

"And then at 3:28, you will tutor him on his last training: healing.", the Beta informs me.

"That would be the last lesson.", I say.

"Yes, but you won't be done with him quite yet..."

I furrow my eyebrows in confusion.

"The Alpha didn't tell me the plans after that but...well, just cross the bridge when you get there! Since it's nearly time, I'll be going."

He morphs into his wolf and dashes off to the Alpha, most likely.

I stare at the direction he ran off to in confusion. I knew he was lying. The Alpha did tell him her plan.

I was going to look at my watch when I hear someone run off into the forest, running as if their life depended on it.

That's when it hit me.

The aroma....the fragrance...c-could it..be? My mate?!

My eyes dilated and I saw the trail of my mate's scent. An intertwining of purple and blue.

I immediately shift into my wolf and sprint towards my mate, following the trail rather than the smell.

I could hear them way ahead of me, they were terribly fast. Why is my mate running from me?! Don't they know how long I've waited for them?! 6 years!!! I thought they were dead!!!

I continue to sprint towards my mate, my heart aching at the reason they could have for running from me. Do they not want me?!

No. I've waited 6 long, depressing, tormenting, years. You won't escape from me.

Axel

I smell it. It's my mate!!! But where?? Argh!! I'm not seeing the scent!!!!! Man if only I excelled at my trainings, I'd know which direction the scent of my mate came from... Right now I just smell them everywhere!!

I continue to run. Then I heard the pounding of heavy paws behind me. Which scared the hell outta me!

I run faster, terrified.

I look back to try and see the beast, but instead lose my balance and trip. I crash hard onto the earth and continue to tumble further down a steep hill. I was about to crash into a tree when the world just went into slow motion.

I was still rolling down, but a massive wolf, silhouetted by the light of day, jumps over me and crashes into the tree, making me crash into their furry chest instead.

I was panting hard in my human form. My heart is racing terribly fast and I took deep breathes to try and calm it. Then my mate's scent grew shockingly strong and before I could realize it, the massive wolf shifts into his human. He pulls me up to sit so that he could check if I was hurt, and that's when I saw him.

"Forrest...?"

He crashes his lips onto mine and moves passionately. He continues hungrily while squeezing at my shoulders. Before I knew it, his tongue was inside and I quickly grew flustered. He tastes....amazing...!!

We continued on for a minute more before I tried to push him back for air but that seemed to scare him as he stops the kiss and pulls me into a tight hug. Then after a moment, whispering in relief.

"Finally...finally..."

Forrest

It scared me to death when he tried to push me back, that pulling him into a tight hug was a reflex.

"Finally...finally..."

I began to cry on his shoulder. I finally found my mate, and when I saw him fall down the hill I thought I'd lose him.

I began to sob, hugging him closer to me. He tenses then relaxes, his hands rubbing my back soothingly.

"It's...alright...", he slowly assured.

His voice is melodious. I immediately calmed down.

I wasn't ready to pull back from him, but I have to see him.

He's breathtaking.

His dark green eyes mesmerize me, and his features is flawless. He observes my features as I observe his. He's my mate. I couldn't be happier. I place a hand on his soft check and caressed it with my thumb. He reacted, his eyes turning soft and loving. I placed the other on the side of his head, over his ear, to feel his long-medium, light blonde hair. Perfection.

Axel

It's so weird. The face I was so terrified of, the face I imagined to torture me in hell, is the face of my mate...and I love it.

He has dark brown hair and brown eyes that appeared orange in the light. His features were sharp yet soft. The hands that were on his back slid to his side when he pulled away and I could feel the muscles. He lifts one hand to rest on my cheek, and it felt perfect. As if his hand belongs there. I couldn't help but look at him lovingly. Then he rest his other hand on my ear as he pets my hair. I leaned towards his touch, addicted to it, wanting more. The love in his eyes grow, his eyes dilate. He leans in and I stay still waiting for him, then our lips touch slightly before we kiss. I close my eyes, enjoying the kiss, as he deepens it. And we kiss and intertwine our arms around each other's bodies. Under the shade of the tree. The sun rising. The moment perfect.
