“Gratitude- the meanest and most sniveling attribute in the world.”

- Dorothy Parker.

DARYA P.O.V

My legs were literally shaking and I felt cold all over. I gulped and closed my eyes. Why was I so scared? It is just another pack and I have been to so many packs already.

This was once the enemy pack, my wolf reminded and I groaned. Quillon looked at me questioningly and I just faked a smile.

“I can smell your fear” he stated and the smile got wiped from my face.

“I don’t know why I am scared” I said honestly. I really didn’t know why I was so scared. It was very unlike me.

Closing my eyes, I inhaled deeply and soon unfamiliar scents hit my nose- All belonging to Serene Pack wolves.

“I don’t usually get scared” I muttered shaking my head. Nothing scares me anymore. But I didn’t know why the thought of some wolves scared me.

To divert my mind, I stared out of the window to look at the thick tree trunks, green grasses covering the earth. I smiled softly when I saw that but then all of a sudden an image popped in my head. An image, in which, all the trees were burnt and the green grasses were black and dry.

Wincing, I leaned back against my seat which once again had Quillon look at me. He asked something but I didn’t hear it. All I could think about was that image.

It was then I realized why I was so scared. I was scared for the Serene Pack wolves. I was scared that if I lose control, then I would hurt them. I could burn their whole pack down. That is why I was hoping no one would provoke me into losing my temper.

I rubbed my fingers over my forehead and closed my eyes.

Please don’t let that happen. Please don’t, I kept praying to the nature goddess.

“Darya” Quillon snapped and I opened my eyes. “Did you hear anything I spoke in the last five minutes?” he queried and I shook my head. I also realized that he had parked his car at the corner of the road.

“Sorry” I mumbled sheepishly staring at my fingers on my lap. “What did you say?” I demanded looking up at him.

“I wanted to know why you are so scared if you don’t usually get scared?” he asked and I sighed.

“I am fine” I answered softly. “I was just thinking about some stuff…. But I am fine now” I said and flashed him a brilliant smile.

Quillon narrowed his eyes and stared at me suspiciously. His stare, with those dark eyes, was really unnerving and so, I quickly looked away. It was then I spotted some wolves in the middle of the woods, looking at us.

Leaning forward, I narrowed my eyes and stared at them, “My friends” Quillon said when he began driving again.

“All of them?” I queried wide eyes. They were nearly ten-fifteen wolves, who were running on either side of the road.

“I am a very friendly person doll face” Quillon said with a grin and I knew why he used that word, friendly. I just grinned and shook my head when I recalled his outrageous proposal of having sex once and parting away like friends.

No way would I have accepted such demeaning proposal.

“You may be friends with others but you are not my friend and you will never be my friend” I said with a growl.

“Do you have any friends?” he demanded and I spun my head to glare at him. But then I recalled that he had me investigated and sure enough no one in the school knew who my friends were.

“I do” I said looking ahead. “My friends are those who love living a private life just like me and that is why none of your detectives were able to find about them” I retorted and Quillon frowned.

“Who are they?” he queried with a low growl but I didn’t bother replying him because I could see houses on either side of the road. We were in the residential area of Serene Pack.

“Most pack wolves stay here” Quillon murmured when I stared at a fifteen floor apartment building.

“Where do you stay?” I asked.

“A little far” he replied speeding down the road. It was already six thirty in the evening and I wondered how far his place from here is.

Well, his little far was actually twenty minute drive from the apartment. I climbed out of the car and stared at the house. It was a modest two storey house. There was already two cars parked in front of the house and I recognized one of them as Grace, Quillon’s mother’s car.

This is his parents’ house.

As if on cue, Grace called me. I turned to see her walking towards me. I still cannot believe she is Quillon’s mother. She is so young.

“Welcome darling” she beamed hugging me and I returned her hug. “I am so glad you came” she said pulling away and then turned to look behind her. I followed her gaze and gulped when my eyes fell on the former alpha. Quillon’s father, Scott Sanders.

“Alpha” I said and lowered my head.

“You can call me Scott” he stated and I nodded. “Welcome to the pack” he said like a trained robot extending his hand.

With a smile, I shook his hand. My hands were tiny on his. “Thank-you” I mumbled softly.

“That’s my youngest son, Quinton” Grace introduced and I looked at Quinton, who was standing beside Quillon.

When compared to Quillon, Quinton was quite short but then he was still in his teens. In looks wise, Quinton too was just like his father, with dark hair and dark eyes. However, Quinton’s skin tone was just the same shade as his mom.

“Hi” Quinton mumbled and I replied the same. However, I grinned when Quinton blushed and lowered his head. He was embarrassed about the way we met for the first time.

Good! He should be embarrassed.

There was a low growl from Quillon and I found him scowling at his blushing brother.

“Let’s go in” Grace said and I nodded.

“Mom, I will take Darya to my place. Let her settle in and then we will come here for dinner” Quillon suggested solemnly and my wolf perked up when she heard that we are going to his house.

“Excellent idea” Grace grinned. “Dinner is at nine” she said facing me and I nodded climbing inside Quillon’s car.

“How far is your place?” I queried interestedly.

“Another ten minutes” he replied.

Ten minutes later, Quillon parked his car and climbed out. Quickly, he took my bags and kept it in the middle of the driveway. He was about to pull out his keys from the pocket, but stopped when he saw that the door of the house was open.

“Quinn” he growled out and then turned to face me. “The door is open. The upstairs, left side fourth room is going to be yours for the next two months” Quillon said walking towards his car. And then, he got inside his car and within a minute, the car vanished from my view, while all I did was stare at his behavior with my mouth dropped open.

Chivalry is indeed dead!

As if I was depending on him! I just felt bad for my wolf.

Shaking my head, I picked one bag at a time and stepped inside the house. Quillon’s house was a two storey building too and it was beautiful inside as well as outside. The living room was wide and spacious.

The right side of the wall had floor-to-ceiling windows providing a beautiful view of the swimming pool. There was a white color couch, where six to seven people could sit comfortably, opposite to the wall having a large screen T.V. The white walls of the room complimented the wooden flooring. At the left end of the room, there were ten stairs leading to the next floor.

Sighing, I kept my bag and decided to bring the other bag. But I was surprised when I saw Quinton bringing them in for me. “Thank-you” I said with a smile and he nodded.

“I will take it upstairs” he said walking past me. I smiled and followed after him.

“Your brother said my room is on the left side” I told Quinton, once we were upstairs, when he went to the right side.

“But Q’s room is here” he said confusedly.

“I didn’t agree to share room with him, just yet” I muttered with a shrug and Quinton nodded. “He said the fourth one” I pointed to Quinton.

“Thank-you Quinton” I said once again after he kept the bag on my room for the next sixty days.

“No problem” he said with a shrug and was about to leave, but he stopped and faced me. “I am sorry… for the other day” he said with a guilty smile. “I really mistook you for my date” he defended and I cocked an eyebrow. “I am not lying” he said with a blush and I couldn’t stop the smile that appeared on my face.

Mistook my foot!

“I am sorry too” I said with a chuckle. “But it wasn’t me who put you inside the trunk” I stated honestly. “It was my guards”

“Oh”

“They did it. I asked them to just drop you out of the territory before Duncan sees you” I mumbled.

“But the Alpha knows” Quinton said and I blinked in confusion. “That I come to his territory.”

“Duncan knows?” I queried surprised to hear that piece of information.

“Yes”

“You have been to Emperor even before?”

“Yeah… five to six times” he said with a shrug before walking away. “And Darya, you can call me Quinn” he added and I nodded with a smile.

For some reason, I knew that Quinton and I would become good friends. The boy was nothing like his asshole brother! Quinton was all warm and friendly, while Quillon… Grr!

Shaking my head, I spun around to have a good look at my room. I sucked in a breath as I looked at the room. It was simply wonderful.

The floor-to-ceiling window of the room led to a balcony. The room had a beautiful queen size bed, an attached bathroom, a walk-in-closet, a coffee table, a study table, a large book shelf attached to the wall. This room was just like my room in my house. The only difference, this room was shades of white, black and grey.

I decided to unpack my things. At the same time, a woman, who seemed to be in her mid-forties, entered my room and introduced herself as Ms. Haley Owen, the part-time housekeeper.

“The Alpha sent me here” she said softly.

Oh! So this is the way, Quillon works.

“I can help you unpack, Luna” she said and I inhaled sharply.

“Call me Darya” I said and she, nodded nervously. I then decided to take her help because I didn’t know how to arrange everything neatly.

Thanks to Mrs. Owen’s tremendous help, my room was arranged within an hour. Once she left, to her house, I decided to take a shower. It was already eight-thirty and Grace had said the dinner would be at nine.

After having the quickest shower of my life, I pulled out a dress from the closet. It was a simple, boat neck floral printed dress. I just brushed a few strands of my hair sideward and then secured it with a barrette. Just when I was about to pick my cellphone, Quillon barged into the room.

For a second, I was startled and so I just stared at him with wide eyes. He looked so good that it caused my heart to beat very fast. He was dressed casually with beige trousers, a light color t-shirt and a dark color hooded jacket over it.

Snapping out of my stupor, I sat on the bed to wear my ankle length boots. “I know you have got no manners, but I do expect you to learn to knock whenever you come to this room for the next sixty days” I pointed out as I slid my foot into the boots. My cheeks were warm and so I didn’t dare look at him.

“This is my house and I do whatever the fuck I want here” he said glaring at me and I rolled my eyes. “Now Quick. Be downstairs in five” he ordered before going out of the room.

The way he ordered me around it made me furious and so I picked up the other boot and threw it at him. Unfortunately for me, Quillon ducked right at that moment and my boot fell downstairs.

“Oops. Bad aim” he chuckled and then went downstairs with his werewolf speed.

“I will kill you one day, I swear” I muttered walking down with one shoe.

Quinn was already there and he was smirking at me. “If you hit the target next time, I will give you thousand bucks” he dared extending his hand.

“Deal” I said slapping his hand. I will hit that nutcase one day.

After wearing another boot, I got in the passenger seat of Quillon’s car, while Quinn got in the backseat.

“You look beautiful darling” Grace told me with a smile as soon as I stepped inside their house.

“Thanks” I said smiling shyly and followed her to the dining room. Scott, Quillon’s father, was already seated in the head of the table. Quillon took a seat to his right while Grace sat on the other side. “Sit next to Q” Grace told me and I nodded nervously.

I suppose the seat belonged to Quinn, because he grumbled something and then went to sit next to his mother.

“Did you like the house darling?” Grace questioned.

“Yes” I replied truthfully. “It’s beautiful.”

“And you need any help in unpacking?”

“No. Mrs. Owen was of great help” I said to Grace.

“Oh Good. Glad she came to help you”

“Quillon called her” I said looking at Quillon, who was eating his food.

“Good” Grace said with an appreciative smile.

There was a minute or two of silence, before the former Alpha called me. I was so stunned to hear him say my name that I literally dropped the spoon on my plate.

“Yes?” I said uncertainly.

“Tell us about your wolf” Scott demanded.

“My wolf?” I parroted nervously and Grace nodded with an encouraging smile.

“What color is your wolf?” Quinn asked me.

“Black” I answered.

“Q’s wolf is midnight blue in color” the former Alpha said proudly and my eyes widened in surprise. I have never heard a wolf having that color fur. “It’s a very rare color” he added and I smiled.

“His wolf is taller and stronger than mine” the Alpha continued and I stiffened. I knew where this was going.

“Dad” Quillon called through gnashed teeth.

“So, naturally, we did expect his mate to be one with title and also a trained one” the Alpha pointed out. My wolf growled and I clenched my fist under the table.

“Scott” Grace called in warning.

“Are you trained, Darya? Do you fight?” Scott finally decided to be blunt.

I have killed wolves so ruthlessly that you would have chosen to be blind than looking at me doing it, I wanted to shout but I didn’t. I will not lose control to my wolf.

Taking a deep breath, I answered, “Yes, I am.”

“And who trained you?” Scott queried interestedly.

“Duncan and his friends.”

“You do know to fight and defend yourself?”

I can defend a whole pack if I want to. Slowly, I raised my head, “I know. I wouldn’t want to depend on any male, even if it’s my own mate, for my protection” I avowed looking at the former Alpha in the eye.

Scott’s eyes widened and he sucked in a breath as he saw me. Quillon who saw his reaction turned his head to look at me. He looked stunned for a second before he blinked.

“Your eyes…” Grace started and I immediately closed my eyes. Crap! What did I do? Clenching my fist, I pushed back my wolf.

“Red” Quillon said in a whisper and I opened my eyes.

“Red? Really?” Quinn said in astonishment and looked at me. He pouted when he realized that my eyes were back to their normal steel grey.

“That’s a very rare color” Grace continued. “Isn’t it Scott?” she turned to glower at her mate who flushed in his seat.

“It’s just an eye color” I mumbled uncomfortably.

“I have not seen any wolf having red color eyes” Quillon said. Apparently, now he couldn’t take his eyes of mine.

Gritting my teeth, I turned to face him, “I have not seen any wolf having midnight blue fur either. But I am not making a fuss of it now, am I?” I whispered harshly.

I was more than surprised when he smirked, “They are back” he said looking me in the eye and Quinn bent sideward to look at my eyes.

Scowling at him, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to calm myself.

“Damn! I missed it again” Quinn sulked.

“Don’t worry. You will see it soon” Quillon stated in confidence and I turned to frown at him. “I often tend to bring that side of her” Quillon grinned. I stomped his feet under the table, which caused him to mutter a curse.

“Just like I bring yours” I said with a cheeky smile, when he glared at me with dark eyes.

“Kids” Grace called and I blushed and lowered my head. For a moment, I forgot there were others sitting with us.

“I am not a kid mom” Quillon grumbled frowning at his mother.

“Whatever” Grace muttered shaking her head and then moved her gaze to me, “I am very pleased to hear you are trained to fight Darya. I too was trained to fight by my brother” she said in a sad voice and I stiffened in my seat.

I promise Grace, one day you will surely meet your nephew. Not everyone died that day. Cortez told me that I should never ever mention about his existence to his aunt because she never once looked back at her pack after she came to know it was attacked. He was furious at her.

However after knowing Grace, I could tell that she would never do that. It was obvious she still missed her former pack.

“Grace” Scott called her gently and she closed her eyes.

“I am fine” Grace muffled softly. She opened her eyes and stated, “I am sure all she-wolves in your pack are trained?”

I looked up when I heard Quinn chuckle after hearing her say it. Beside me, Quillon too lowered his head and smirked. I suppose it’s a family joke.

“Grace” Scott growled in warning.

“Yes” I said looking at all of them.  “It’s the same for every pack, isn’t it?”

“Not all” Quinn clarified and I looked at him questioningly.

“Serene Pack she-wolves would choose standing whole day in the kitchen over fighting” Grace supplied.

I couldn’t even hide my shocked expression after hearing that statement. What the actual fuck? The only way I would stay in a kitchen whole day, is if you chain me there.

I am not that interested in cooking and so I rarely go to kitchen.

Narrowing my eyes, I shot a questioning look at Quillon. There is no way we are going to work as mates, if he agrees to that.

“I will catch your hair and drag you out of the house if you stay in during a fight” he whispered in a barely audible voice and I smiled.

“I will kick you, where it hurts the most, if you make me stay in the house during a fight” I said before looking away.

Thank-god!

I am really glad Quillon isn’t a sexist! At least not when it comes to this.

__________

Meanwhile, at Konrad’s warehouse…

Ekon descended the stairs and immediately looked for Konrad.

His gaze first fell on Sanity, who was sitting in her chair at the dining table and sketching something. The table had six chairs. Just few months ago, all those chairs were occupied, but now…

One occupant of the chair, Jared, was dead. He was killed by Darya, four months ago, and another occupant, Rick, had left and formed his own group. Ekon knew that, Rick too would be killed soon by Darya. He was a lone wolf at the moment and Darya, without doubt, would target him first.

Shaking his head, Ekon looked at Sanity. For a moment, he paused and stared at the seventeen year old girl, with platinum blonde hair, light green eyes and an innocent face. To any outsider, she might seem like a lost little girl, who is in need of protection. But little did they know how malicious she is.

So far Sanity has killed fifty-three wolves, without batting an eyelash. She killed all of them by stabbing a Kerambit to their throat.

Sighing, Ekon walked towards her and looked at her sketch. It was a picture of a perfect family. The woman had a small baby in her arms, while the man had an arm draped over the woman’s shoulder.

Every time Sanity draws the same sketch.

The man in the sketch was her father. The woman her step-mother and the baby, her half-brother. They were all dead because Sanity had killed them all.

“Where is Kornad?” Ekon asked her placing the file he was holding on the table.

She stopped sketching and then, pointed her pencil towards the direction of a living area of the warehouse. Ekon, didn’t mind her lack of response for he was well aware that Sanity talks, only when she thinks it’s necessary to talk.

Ekon walked towards the living area, where all lights were switched off. However, he saw a figure sitting on a grandma’s rocking chair. Konrad!

“I brought the file you were asking for” Ekon began but he got no response. Instead, Konrad continued moving to and fro in his rocking chair. “I have kept it in the table” he added.

Ekon sighed and turned to leave but he had important information, which he had to share with Konrad. For a moment, he debated. He was hesitant to share it not because he knew Konrad wouldn’t like it, but because he knew, that someone else is going to suffer if he shares that part of information.

He decided not to share the information. Just as soon, time was taking him back to the memory of how he first met Konrad.

Ekon, pictured himself, as a sixteen year old boy, who was being repeatedly thrashed, with a belt, by his father. He was crying and begging his father to stop, but the cruel man that he was, continued hitting the boy harder and harder. Today was the first time he fought back, but even then, he wasn’t capable of standing against his father, who was stronger than him.

“You are going to regret talking back to me” his father spat in fury dropping the belt. Ekon, hugged his knees close to his chest and lowered his head. There were many flesh wounds in his hands and blood oozed from every one of them. Every time his father whipped him, the pain would increase. “I should have killed you the minute you were born” his father muttered and Ekon gulped. He gently blew air on a wound in his elbow, hoping it would soothe him. “But I am going to rectify that error now” he spat in fury and Ekon stared in horror at the iron rod his father was holding. He couldn’t run because he knew his father was faster than him. His wolf was just a pup, while his father was an experienced fighter.

As his father raised his hand, Ekon closed his eyes and prepared himself for another hit, braced himself to die, but that hit never came.

Hesitantly, he opened his eyes and gasped, when he saw the iron rod falling on the floor, followed by his father’s well-built body. He shrank back and noticed his father, who was lying on his stomach, gasping for air.

“Son” his father called and raised his blood stained hands.

Slowly, Ekon’s eyes ran over his father’s back until he saw a long, sharp and silvery sword injected on his father’s back.

“No one treats their son like that” an unfamiliar voice stated and nervously, Ekon looked up, until his gaze clashed with the green ones of a teenage boy.

The boy, looked at Ekon and smirked slowly. Ekon, was shocked and unable to move. All he could do was sit on the floor and watch as the boy pulled out the sword from his father’s back. Watch, his father dying slowly and watch, the boy gently wipe the blood from the sword.

“Are you going to sit there forever?” the boy asked Ekon, who slowly shook his head as a reply. “Please don’t tell me you are feeling sad for the death of this pathetic excuse of a father” the boy remarked and once again Ekon shook his head.

He didn’t. He didn’t feel any sort of emotion watching his father’s body. His father was a cruel man, who always hit him. He didn’t love his father because his father never loved him.

“Then get up” the boy commanded.

Slowly, Ekon stood up, holding the wall for support, and looked at the boy, who was younger than him in age but still looked stronger than him.  “You saved me” Ekon whispered slowly and the boy cocked an eyebrow. “You saved me” Ekon repeated and the boy rolled his eyes. At that moment, all Ekon wanted to do was thank god for sending this boy in time.  “Thank-you” Ekon murmured in a wobbly voice.

“You are crying?” the boy asked staring at Ekon in disgust. Immediately Ekon blinked repeatedly, cleared his throat and then shook his head. “Good” the boy said and turned to leave.

“Wait” Ekon called running after his savior. The boy growled and then glared at Ekon. “I don’t have anywhere to go” Ekon mumbled lowly, without staring at the boy’s intimidating green eyes.

“So?”

“Can I come with you?” Ekon didn’t know what he would do if the boy said no. He knew for sure he couldn’t go back to that house.

“Why would I want you with me? What can you do for me?” the boy demanded.

Slowly, Ekon raised his head and looked at the boy in the eye. “I promise to do anything you want without questioning it. I promise to serve you until my last breath” Ekon swore vehemently. He would forever be grateful to this boy, who saved his life.

As a reply the boy just smirked. “Ekon right?” the boy questioned and Ekon nodded, wondering how the boy knew his name. “I am Konrad” Ekon eyes widened and he stared at the boy in shock.

This is Konrad? This was the boy, who was created by his father’s friends? He had heard that Konrad was strong, incredibly stronger than all other wolves.

“And I do hope you always remember the promise you made today” Konrad concluded.

Emerging from that frightening memory, Ekon blinked and shook his head. He had made a promise!

Taking a deep breath, he turned to look at Konrad, who was still rocking to and fro. “Darya found her mate” he said abruptly. Once the words left his mouth, he regretted sharing it with Konrad but he knew he couldn’t take it back either.

The rocking stopped all of a sudden and then slowly, leaning forward, Konrad opened his eyes to reveal mint green irises. “Who is it?” he asked in a low voice.

“Quillon Sanders. Alpha of Serene Pack” Ekon replied, carefully watching Konrad, who got up.

“Ah… Quillon Sanders” he repeated and smirked softly. “As expected her mate is an Alpha, but unlike her, there isn’t anything special about him” Konrad mused. Sanity, got up from her chair and walked towards them.

“There isn’t” Ekon agreed. “But I have heard he is quite good in physical fighting” Ekon shared.

Konrad just shrugged it off. Physical fighting was never a problem for him! He could hypnotize hundreds of wolves and command them to attack his target if he wanted to.

“His parents are Alpha bloods” a familiar voice stated and Ekon looked up to see Cable, another wolf, who worked for Konrad. Cable, jumped from upstairs and landed gracefully on his feet.

“Interesting” Konrad said. “But is that it?”

“Yes” Ekon was sure of his answer. There was nothing special about Quillon.

“I know everything about that bastard” Cable replied, walking towards Konrad. Cable, a twenty year wolf, loved only two things in the world. One- women and two- watching his victims gasp for air, when he strangles them to death.

“He was my former Alpha’s son” Cable announced. After killing his first victim, using a cable wire, Nathan, who originally belonged to Serene Pack, renamed himself as Cable, once he became a rogue.

“Do you know anything else about him?” Konrad asked staring at Cable’s icy blue eyes.

“I know Quillon is strong. Insanely strong” Cable muttered and Ekon frowned. “But that’s just because he is an Alpha, whose parents too are Alpha bloods” Cable scorned.

“Quillon is after Cable ever since he left the pack” Ekon stated and Cable growled.

“We will not be able to kill Quillon in a physical fight” Cable pointed out after sometime.

“Maybe you cannot. But I can” Sanity said and three heads turned to look at her. “All I have to do is aim for his neck” Sanity said holding a Kerambit and then throwing it ahead. The Kerambit hit the throat of a picture of Darya, in a nearby board and Ekon winced when he saw it.

He knew he was working for wrong people, but he couldn’t break his promise. He would never break his promise. For that one promise he had made lots of sacrifice… including rejecting his mate!

Ekon gulped when he thought about Meryl. His beautiful mate. He wanted to be with her, but for her protection, he had to reject her. She deserved better than him and he didn’t need anyone telling him that.

“Easy there, Sanity” Konrad whispered tucking a strand of Sanity’s platinum blonde hair behind her ears and that snapped Ekon out of his thoughts. “Easy” Konrad whispered next to Sanity’s left ear, the half of which was cut off by Darya last year. “We do not want to kill him yet” he added softly.

Most wolves considered Sanity to be Konrad’s mistress, but Ekon knew the truth. The truth was that Konrad was incapable of feeling any sort of emotion except wrath.

“Then what are you going to do?” Cable demanded with a growl, watching them with narrowed eyes. To Cable, Sanity was a challenge. She was the only girl, so far, who had refused him. The only girl, who was not attracted to him and the only girl, who threatened to kill him if he got any closer to her.

But Sanity, just like Konrad, was an emotionless wolf. One could say she was the female version of Konrad. However, just like Ekon, Sanity does what Konrad asked her to do, without questioning it. The difference between Sanity and Ekon was that, Ekon wasn’t as coldhearted as her.

“We take one step at a time” Konrad murmured, walking towards the board, where there were pictures of Darya and everyone she considered family.

“Darya has already moved to Quillon’s pack” Ekon announced.

“Finally, without those five Alphas’, I see” Konrad mused removing the Kerambit and passing it to Sanity.

“But even then you cannot kill Darya” Cable spat in rage. “We tried everything.  Weapon, fire, electricity… nothing” he growled out running a hand through his blonde hair. “You go for a physical fight with her, all those curvy creepers come out of nowhere and soon you are dangling in the air upside down. Nothing kills her” Cable roared in frustration.

“You tried killing her. I never did” Konrad said with a smirk, turning to face Cable and Ekon gulped. That was true. So far, Konrad had tried to hurt Darya on various occasions, but not even once with an intention of killing her. It was only to give her some pain and see how much she can bear.

If Konrad tried killing her, then without doubt he can be successful.

Slowly, Konrad uncapped a marker pen and wrote the name, QUILLON, in the glass board.

“Are you going to use her mate, to fight against her?” Ekon questioned in a whisper.

“That would be fun” Cable said smugly. “Quillon will definitely kill her if you hypnotize him. Quillon doesn’t know what losing is because he has never lost at anything” Cable added and Ekon noticed the envy in his tone.

“Well, he would know what losing is when he stands against me” Konrad stated in a confident tone.

“So, what’s the next move?” Cable queried watching Konrad, curiously.

“Next move… I go and have a little chat with my friend Darya” Konrad said turning to face the others. “In the meantime you will send a gift, from my side, to Quillon Sanders.”
