Chapter 718 What Were You Doing Last Night?

They cleaned up and were about to leave the bedroom when Evan asked, “Is the villa next door still for sale?”

Caroline nodded. “Yes. Nobody came for the viewing. The price is a bit high.”

“Hmm… let’s go,” Evan replied casually, opening the door.

Caroline didn’t pay much attention to his question and joined him to head downstairs.

When the children and Kenny heard the commotion, they turned to Evan and Caroline.

Caroline felt their collective gaze with mixed emotions.

But Evan could clearly sense hostility emanating from Tyler.

Caroline felt too guilty to meet the children’s eyes. After all, she had stayed up late but hadn’t informed them about Evan spending the night.

Evan strolled over to them casually. “I’m taking you out to eat.”

Liora eagerly got up. “Great! Let’s go to Odin Palace, where you took me before.”

Tyler glared at Liora. “Good–for–nothing!”

Liora heard it and glared back. “Are you done sulking, Ty? Why are you so childish!”

Caroline approached them and looked at Tyl “Ty?” Caroline called out.

Tyler stood up, went to Caroline, and pulled her away by her hand. “I’d like to talk to you in private, Mommy.”

Caroline glanced at Evan, signaling that she would go.

Evan didn’t understand Caroline’s intention, so he took Caroline’s arm and told the sulking Tyler, “Talk to me if you have something to discuss.”

Tyler turned and glared at him. “Why would I talk to you?”

“Aren’t you a man? Talk to me if you are!” Evan retorted coldly.

“Evan, Ty is still young. You don’t have to be so stern, Caroline anxiously reminded.

Evan said, “His hacking skills are so advanced that he outperforms all the IT staff in my company. Do you think he doesn’t understand what I’m saying?”

Caroline was shocked to realize how skilled Tyler r was Evan walked up to Tyler and said, “Talk to me if you’re a man!”

Tyler was provoked. “So be it then!”

They went upstairs after saying that.

Caroline anxiously watched their departing silhouettes and wondered if Evan would scold Tyler.

Kenny approached Caroline and comfortingly said, “It’s going to be fine. What can possibly happen when a father and son talk?”

Caroline was still worried despite Kenny’s reassurance.

Kenny changed the topic. “Speaking of which, what were you doing last night?”

Caroline blushed at the memory of last night’s incident. “Nothing…”

Kenny looked suspicious, “Something’s not right, G!”

Caroline was rendered speechless.

Evan and Tyler sat facing each other in the study upstairs.

Tyler stared at him fearlessly and said, “Don’t play with Mommy if you don’t love her!”

Evan raised an eyebrow and adopted a feigned cold tone, “How can you tell that I’m toying with your mother?”

“Haven’t you made Mommy cry enough times?” Tyler asked angrily.

Evan leaned back on the sofa. “You label me as toying with her just based on that?”

“Or else? I can’t see that you love Mommy,” Tyler retorted.

Evan smirked. “A man’s love is in his actions and his heart. Anyone can say it out loud. If I didn’t love your mom, why would I help out when Liora and you were in trouble? Why would I add more trouble to myself?”
