Chapter 912
Trapped in Love
Reuben began organizing the documents on the desk upon entering the office.
After sorting them, he took shots of the important ones, intending to send them to Evan later in the night.
As he neared completion, a knock on the office door interrupted him. Without lifting his head, Reuben said, âCome in.â
The door opened, revealing a man in sunglasses.
âMr. Murphy, is Mr. Jordan ready? We should set off now,â the man stated.
In response, both Reuben and Julian looked up.
Reubenâs expression shifted instantly upon recognizing the helicopterâs pilot. âArenât you supposed to be in the helicopter?â
The pilot frowned and asked, âDidnât I text you that I was in the washroom?â
Reuben checked his pocket while Julian pointed out, âYour phone is on the coffee table.â
âCall Mr. Jordan now!â Reuben exclaimed.
Julian promptly made the call, but Evanâs phone was off.
Distraught, Reuben collapsed on the chair and lamented, âWeâre screwed. Weâve protected him so well, but someone still managed to take advantage of it.â
Julian sternly asked, âDid you tell anyone that Mr. Jordan is leaving?â
âNo!â Reuben responded vexedly. âI just informed the pilot!â
Julian punched the wall. âMotherfucker! There must be spies in the company!â
Reuben said, âItâs not the time for that now. We must find Mr. Jordan as soon as possible!â
Julian turned to the pilot, asking, âIs there another private helicopter in the company?â
The pilot shook his head, explaining, âNo, we rarely use the private helicopter.â
âThe monitoring screen!â Reuben suggested. âLetâs check where the helicopter has flown to.â
âCome. Letâs go to the monitoring room,â the pilot proposed.
Five minutes later, Reuben and Julian reached the monitoring room.
Seeing the black screen, Reuben realized the severity of the situation; their enemy didnât want them to know Evanâs destination.
Julian stood nearby and cursed profusely.
Reubenâs heart sankâhe didnât even know the number of people on the helicopter or Evanâs current state.
At the same time, Evan focused on the pilot in the helicopter, realizing he wasnât the designated pilot of his company. It looked like there were spies in his company, and he needed further screening to find them.
When the pilot felt Evanâs gaze, he explained, âStop looking at me this way. Iâm under someoneâs order.â
Evan sneered. âWhy not tell me your goal since I canât escape now?â
The pilot mocked, âItâs simple. Weâre going to let you fall off the sky and die miserably.â
He unbuckled and opened the cabin door, facing Evan.
âConsider yourself lucky. I donât use a knife. You wonât feel pain when you die.â
Evan clutched his phone. As the pilot approached, Evan scoffed. âWeâll see if you have the power to throw me off the helicopter.â
Infuriated, the pilot warned, âDonât resist. Weâve checked your background. You lack combat skills.â
Evan retorted, âWeâll see if you have the power to throw me off the helicopter.â âYouâre courting death!â
the pilot barked and extended his hands toward Evan.
