Chapter 97 You Have My Word Lily spoke up, “Ms. Shenton, I can go with you. Just let me know in advance so that I can make the necessary preparations.”

At noon, in MK headquarters.

Draco arrived at the company to meet Evan. Taking a seat on the sofa, he commented, “You’ve found yourself a clever and articulate girl.”

Evan’s expression suddenly turned cold, and his voice carried a hint of gloom. “Did you meet Caroline?”

“When do you plan on getting rid of that woman?” Draco demanded.

“And when are you going to marry Ella?”

Evan closed the document in front of him. “I made myself very clear last night. You don’t have to worry about my personal affairs.”

“If you don’t want to handle it, I’ll take care of it for you,” Draco asserted with a harsh tone.

An icy chill swept over Evan. “If you dare to touch Caroline, I won’t hesitate to remove every post Adam and his family hold in this company!”

“You don’t have that authority yet!” Draco struck his walking stick against the floor in anger.

“Do you think you can intimidate me just by raising your voice?” Evan let out a cold chuckle.

“I won’t interfere with them as long as you don’t do anything about Caroline.”

Draco glared fiercely at Evan. “Well, it seems you’ve become quite rebellious.”

Evan replied coolly, “You should enjoy your retirement and not concern yourself with matters that are none of your business.”

“I can reclaim everything I’ve given you!” Draco’s anger caused him to tremble.

Evan reminded him, “Do I need to remind you of the consequences when my elder brother and Adam took over MK in the past?”

“You!” Draco abruptly stood up, gritting his teeth and saying, “I never took you for an affectionate man.” With that, he turned around and left.

At night, Grayson accompanied Daniella back to Xander Residence for her to recover. He offered her consolation, saying, “My dear, stay here and rest assured.”

Daniella wore a look of apology. “Grandpa, I feel so sorry for causing you so much trouble because of me.”

“How many times do you need to say that?” Grayson replied, feeling sympathy for her. “You are my biological granddaughter.”

Daniella nodded. “Okay, Grandpa. But can you promise me one thing?”

Grayson assured her, “Tell me, and I’ll make the promise.”

“Can you not be angry with Evan?” Daniella asked, her expression downcast.

“After all, I am partially responsible for this situation. I didn’t handle our relationship well.”

With a scoff, Grayson remarked, “What more can I say? You’re engaged to Evan, and I should have dealt with that shameless woman instead! Rest well and leave this matter to me.”

Daniella suppressed a triumphant smile. That was the promise she had hoped for.

“Grandpa, you’re the best! From now on, I’ll treat you even better.”

Neil overheard their conversation as he had just arrived upstairs.

Standing by the door of the room, he observed Daniella’s bright smile and furrowed his brow deeply.

‘Isn’t it too obvious that she wants to use Grandpa to deal with Caroline? She’s not my sister, no doubt about it. After all, Mom and Dad were never afraid to love openly and confront their enemies.‘

Neil averted his gaze and took out his phone, sending a text to Caroline.

[Caroline, I suggest you do your best to stay at Villa Rosa for now. Don’t go out.]

Caroline, who was about to start writing a manuscript on her laptop, received the message from Neil.

She quickly replied, [Mr. Xander, what do you mean?]

[Daniella is currently at Xander Residence. She’ll try to manipulate Grandpa into taking action against you.]

Upon reading the message, Caroline sneered. Daniella had no power to make Evan truly loyal to her, so she continuously tried to create trouble for Caroline.

Even if Daniella succeeded in having Evan, she would fail to win his heart.

Only Caroline would willingly accept such a losing deal.
