Chapter 27

"So . . here are our ID’s . . " Ali said, and interrupted Mei’s train of thought

The guard looked at the ID’s, and replied "There is no need for ID’s . Both of you are honored employees here, and Sir Boss instructed me to tell you two that you will be living in Sir Boss’s house . . "

"WHAT . . ?!!" Mei and Ali both practically yelled

"Please, follow me this way to your new workplaces . " And so, Mei and Ali followed the guard to their new work area

Mei noticed that they went all the way up to the very top floor

’Why are we on the top floor?? Isn’t that only reserved for the very top of all people, like CEO Sora, for example??’ Mei was trying to piece together their situation

Ali didn’t pay mind to anything, she was busy looking around and admiring the top floor . .

"And here are your workplaces . " The guard announced, to which Mei and Ali looked at the office in-front of them

’What?? What the heck is going on here?!?!!?’ Mei was deathly confused

They were obviously in front of Sora’s office

It even had his nameplate on top of the door for crying out loud!

Not to mention how extravagantly decorated it was . .

"Umm . . excuse me, but WHERE exactly are our offices??" Mei wanted to get to the bottom of this whole thing

The guard turned around and faced the office directly across from Sora’s office, and said in a calm voice

"This is Ali’s office . . " the guard turned around again and faced Sora’s own office, and said

"And Ms . Mei will be staying in Sir Boss’s office temporarily . . " this time, the guards voice wasn’t AS calm as it was before when talking about Ali’s office quarters . .

"WHAT??!?! Why?!?!???! Why don’t I get my own office, like Ali?? This place is MASSIVE! There has to be many other places I could work at!!" Everything up to this point was confusing Mei, and just now basically made her brain explode

"Ahem . Sir boss said that you would stay with him for a while, at least temporarily, because there are no available ’high-class’ offices . . He said that he would prefer you to stay with him than be with the other ’normal’ employees . " This time, it was definitely obvious that the guard was losing his composure little by little

I mean, who could really blame him?? His boss pretty much hated or despised every human on earth, and yet his cold, arrogant boss actually allowed someone to work in his office, and to top it off, it was a girl!!!

This was obviously not a common occurrence, so no one could really blame the guard for losing his cool a little

’What??! If there are no other so called ’high-class’ offices available, why doesn’t he just let me stay with Ali??! We’ve obviously worked together for a long time now, and we get along excellently! Something just doesn’t make sense!!’ Mei’s brain has definitely exploded at that point . . !
