Chapter 2932: This This Is Illegal

Min Haochu grudgingly explained what had happened to Ning Shu.

Her eyes widened as she looked at Min Haochu. “This… this is illegal. If I admit to it, I’ll go to jail!”

Min Haochu was a little surprised. He didn’t expect this lowly woman to know that it was a crime.

Ning Shu shook her head repeatedly. “I can’t do it. If something happens to me, what will happen to my brother?”

Internally, Ning Shu cursed. They wanted her to confess to slander? Then she’d likely be doomed after the press conference.

And he was trying to convince her that day to give her money afterward? Who were they kidding?

They want to turn their bullying into just harmless teasing and make it seem like she held a grudge over a small thing and did this to retaliate.

Her reputation would be destroyed after this and she would end up an object of scorn.

If she really went through with this, the original host Yi Xiaodong would have to bear this disgrace too on top of her already weak status in society.

Min Haochu only cared about his own family. He wouldn’t care about what happened to her.

After the press conference, she’d likely end up in prison. What would happen to Yi Xiaodong then? And Yi Xiaotong would return and find herself locked up in jail.

Her life would pretty much be over.

Her task would also be labeled as a failure and she would have to continue doing more tasks.

“This isn’t something you can refuse. If you do it, you’ll benefit. If not, think about the consequences for you and your brother,” Min Haochu threatened.

Ning Shu: S-so scary…

“Please don’t hurt my brother, let me think about it,” Ning Shu said softly, with her head down.

“Think it over carefully, and don’t even think about running. You won’t get away. I’ll give you a day to consider. But don’t try to escape, my obedient little one,” Min Haochu said with a sly smile as he looked at Ning Shu.

“If you run, there will be consequences. And if I find out you’ve run, your brother won’t have it easy either.” Min Haochu signaled the bodyguards to take Yi Xiaodong away.

Ning Shu quickly said, “I won’t run, just don’t take my brother, I swear.”

Min Haochu pointed at Ning Shu. “You better think carefully.”

Ning Shu waved her hands repeatedly, looking timid and fearful. “I won’t run, really, y-you can trust me.”

Satisfied, Min Haochu left some men to guard her and then walked away leisurely.

Ning Shu hurried into the car and saw that Yi Xiaodong was happily stuffing his face. When he saw Ning Shu, he quickly passed her some food. “Big Sis, eat.”

“That guy is not a good person. He used to bully you so badly, and you’re still eating his food?” Ning Shu said, slightly annoyed.

“But these things are really tasty! And since they bullied us, we should eat up all their food!” Yi Xiaodong said straightforwardly.

Ning Shu: …

That logic… well, it does make some sense.

She took a packaged bread and ate it while watching the guards outside.

Then as she looked at the naive and innocent Yi Xiaodong, Ning Shu felt a deep sense of worry.

She gathered all her savings, grabbed Yi Xiaodong, and stepped out of the camper.

“Where are you going?” one of the bodyguards blocked their way.

“My brother needs to poop,” Ning Shu explained.

Yi Xiaodong, his mouth filled with food, just nodded in agreement with whatever his sister said.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

The bodyguard glanced at Yi Xiaodong with disdain—eating while needing to poop?

Ning Shu led Yi Xiaodong to a secluded spot, with two bodyguards following closely behind.

“You go ahead and do your business here. Big Sis has something to take care of, so make it take a while,” Ning Shu whispered to Yi Xiaodong.

Yi Xiaodong swallowed his food and replied, “But I don’t need to go.”

“Then just squat there. If they find you, tell them I went to the women’s restroom nearby. The women’s restroom, okay?” Ning Shu patted Yi Xiaodong’s shoulder. “Big Sis will be right back.”
