Chapter 330: I Thought It Was a Thief
Quick Transmigration Cannon Fodder's Record of Counterattacks
Wen Ruhua screamed in pain. When he felt that cold object stab deeper into his body, he screamed even louder.
âMiss, w-whatâs wrong?â Yue Lan started awake. Ning Shu said coldly, âLight the lamp.â
Wen Ruhua had collapsed on the ground groaning. He was terrified. When he heard Ning Shuâs voice, he cried weakly, âCousin, itâs me. Save me.â
Ning Shu pretended that she didnât hear Wen Ruhuaâs voice and acted as if she had only noticed Wen Ruhua when Yue Lan lit the lamp. By that time, Wen Ruhua was already lying in a puddle of his own blood and his face was unsightly pale.
âAaah!â Ning Shu screamed as shrilly as she could and immediately broke the silence of the night. As the dogs in the village started barking, the quiet night started getting lively.
âCousin, why is it you? Whatâs wrong? Please donât scare me.â Ning Shu forced herself to squeeze out two drops of tears while acting like she was too afraid to touch Wen Ruhua. She really was afraidâ of getting her hand dirty with blood.
âCousin, Iâm so sorry, I thought it was a thief. What do I do?â Ning Shu looked completely flustered.
Wen Ruhua was scared and angry. He felt like his life was draining away with his blood. When he heard the main culprit just standing there and talking without moving at all, he felt so much hatred that he could barely breathe.
âGo get a doctor,â said Wen Ruhua weakly. His lips were already starting to turn purple.
Ning Shu immediately said, âAlright, alright. Just wait, Iâll go look for a doctor right now.â
âThere are herbs to staunch bleeding in the courtyard. Get some for me.â It took Wen Ruhua a lot of strength to say these words.
Ning Shu seemed completely out of it and asked, âCousin, should I get the doctor first, or find the herb for you first? I donât know much about herbs, what does it look like? What if I grabbed something that caused bad blood clots? Oh no, Cousin, youâre bleeding so much!â
Wen Ruhua really wanted to just kill this wretch.
âLittle beauty, what happened? I heard your scream all the way over at my house.â He Dahua walked over with a bunch of villagers following behind him.
Ning Shu hastily said, âHurry and take a look at my cousin. Heâs badly wounded.â
He Dahua glanced inside the tent, then instructed the villagers. âYou, go look for the doctor. The rest of you, carry Mister Wen onto his bed.â
âHelp me over to get the herbs first.â Wen Ruhua had to struggle hard to speak. He Dahua said mildly, âThen you guys, carry him over to get herbs first.â
Once Wen Ruhua grabbed the herbs, Ning Shu put some in her mouth and chewed it before pressing it onto Wen Ruhuaâs wound. Yue Lan helped chew up the herbs as well. It was so bitter that her face scrunched up.
He Dahua didnât seem to care about Wen Ruhuaâs condition much. He lifted his caterpillar-like brows and asked, âHow did he get injured inside your tent?â
Ning Shuâs face filled with unease and guilt. âI didnât do it on purpose. It was just, Cousin came into my tent in the middle of the night. When I heard noise, I thought it was a thief so I pulled out my self-defense sword.â
âTsk tskâ¦â He Dahua clicked his tongue in disapproval. âAnyone that visits a womanâs room in the middle of the night definitely harbors bad intentions. Would any true upright nobleman do something like this? Heâs always flaunting the fact that heâs the son of a nobleman and has a nobleman air, but he acts like a complete rapist. If a person like this is a nobleman, I must be blind.â
