âKayo
They were chanting my name as I slammed my foot into the fucker's face. I could feel his jaw breaking underneath the pads of my feet. He fell to the floor with blood pouring from his mouth.
"End him!" the arena shouted.
"Kill him!"
"Kayo!"
I stalked over to him like he was my prey. I always earned more money when I beat my opponent to death, but I wasn't feeling too greedy. Instead, I slammed my fist into his face, knocking him clean out. His head lopped over to the side and his eyes shut.
The medics rushed in just as I held my fist up and yelled.
"Kayo! Kayo! Kayo!" they chanted.
I stepped out of the arena and made my way over to the restroom. The same girl from the other night was handing me a towel. I caught a glimpse of her. She had dark hair and blue eyes. She wasn't too bad to look at, but she just wasn't my type.
"Hey," she purred, pushing her breasts up so I could see them. My eyes seemed to have a mind of their own as I found myself stealing a peek or two.
"What?" I questioned.
"I've been watching you fight, and it really turns me on," she said honestly. She grabbed the towel and began to wipe away some of my sweat entwined with blood.
She made sure I got a view of her ass in her tight dress as she made her way around me.
"I'll find you later," I told her, walking away and toward the restroom. I closed the door behind me, making sure to lock it. Thanks to the fucker that disturbed my peace last fight, I made sure there was no one else in the restroom.
Just as I began to clean myself off, there was pounding on the bathroom door.
"What?" I shouted over the chanting of Kyle's name. It was muffled but I could still hear the crowd's excitement.
"Come on, man. We're going out to celebrate tonight!" I could hear the sound of Sean's voice coming from the other side of the door. I met Sean here a year ago. He was new to the whole underground fighting experience, but I could sense all of his potential. After losing his first couple of fights, I helped him become unbeatable.
I opened the bathroom door and took in the big smile on Sean's face. He was fully black but had a lighter complexion. His hair was thick and coiled, but recently, he started keeping it short and in waves. He was also the only person I knew who would go to the gym in a durag.
"I'm not in the mood," I grumbled. I wanted to go fuck that chick, eat some food, and go to sleep.
"I already booked us reservations at this nice ass club downtown," he explained.
I gave him a side eye as he stood at the entrance with his body support keeping the door from automatically shutting. I continued to clean myself of all the blood.
"I told you I'm not in the mood," I repeated.
"I'm paying the whole night. Drink whatever the fuck you want... get fucked up or don't. It's all on me," he said.
I turned off the water and faced him. The look on my face must've showcased my thoughts because his smile grew. Free drinks were the way to my heart.
"That's what I'm talking about!" He clapped. "I'll send you the address and I'll meet you there."
With that, he turned on his heel and walked away, allowing the door to close behind him. I headed out of the restroom where the towel girl was already out waiting for me. A flirty smile came across her face once she saw me. I sighed.
"You want to get out of here?" she asked, heading over to me.
"I'm going out," was all I said.
I didn't wait for her to say another word as I headed out of the arena, but not before catching Hasting's eyes. Every time I saw him, my entire mood would shift. I could be the happiest man in the world, but I would become the angriest in the blink of an eyes once I saw that man.
My jaw instinctively clenched as I left.

I was waiting in the parking lot of the club Sean told me to meet him at. It looked nice from the inside... packed enough to be forgotten, but not enough to not be seen.
I had gone home to shower and change into more presentable clothing. I settled with a white v-neck and jeans. The v-neck was a little tight fitting and exposed all of my tattoos through the thin fabricâjust like I liked it.
Sean's car pulled up right beside mine. As he got out of his vehicle, I exited my own.
"The girls here are..." Sean kissed the air to prove his point.
"We'll see," I told him. We headed into the bar and at the sight of Sean, we were led to the back where the seats were reserved just like he said. I thought it would only be the two of us, but to my surprise, Sophia was there. A few of our friends from the gym also managed to come, and Sean's very own coach.
At the sight of me, they all began to cheer like wild animals. I wouldn't be surprised if they were already drunk.
"Baby!" Sophia screeched, running up to me and throwing her arms around my torso. I fought the urge to push her away. I made it clear that a relationship was the last thing I wanted.
She pulled me to sit down beside her as the lights from the club danced around us.
I narrowed my eyes at Sean who laughed in response. I shouldn't have ever introduced him to Sophia.
"We have a fighter in the building?" A woman's voice came from the private entrance. She was a darker skinned female, wearing what looked to be a ring girl outfit. It was red and skin-tight.
Another woman came from behind her. She had nice round hips leading up to full breasts that practically spilled out the small ass top she was wearing. Her brown skin was glowing from the red of her outfit. Slowly, my eyes trailed up further where I caught the dangling of her curly brown hair. Then, I met her eyes. Eyes that I hadn't seen in so long. The moment she looked at me, I could feel my heart skip a beat. I knew her. Evie. My kitten.
All I could focus on was the fullness of her lips. She was even more beautiful than I remembered.
Suddenly, I could see her gaze drop down to the hands still wrapped protectively around my waist. Fuck, Sophia.
"Congratulations on the big win!" the other girl cheered. Even as she popped open the bottle of champagne, I couldn't tear my eyes away from Everleigh. I was scared that if I looked away, I would lose her again.
All my friends cheered, and Sophia's grip on me grew tighter.
"Baby, kiss me!" Sophia said, beginning to tug on my shirt. I ignored her.
I could tell Everleigh was getting nervous under my gaze seeing as she kept shifting in place and looking away.
"Who's ready for a drink?" the other bottle girl asked. Everyone cheered again and held up a cup. She was quick to pour it in their glasses.
"Now, who's Kayo?" she asked. This time, I actually broke my stare. Sean pointed at me, and I couldn't help but steal a glance at Everleigh. Even after all these years, she still reeked of innocence.
The girl came over to me with the bottle, ready to pour it directly in my mouth when I shook my head.
"I want her to do it," I said, tilting my head over at Everleigh.
The girl smiled and handed the bottle over to Everleigh before taking a step back. Sophia slowly released my from her hold and folded her arms across her chest as she leaned back in her seat.
I parted my lips and leaned my head back, watching my kitten nervously pour the contents in my mouth. She was shaking with her every motion. Once I had a mouth full, she pulled away.
"We'll be back with a round of shots!" the other bottle girl cheered just as all my friends did as well.
The moment they left, Sean tapped me in the chest.
"Man, what the hell was that?" he laughed. "I get it. That girl is something else, but Sophia don't look too happy."
I glanced at Sophia who had turned away from me.
"We're not together," I shrugged.
He laughed. "You're cold, man. You. Are Cold."
"I'll be right back," I said, getting up. I didn't wait for him to say a thing as I walked past all the people dancing in the middle of the dance floor and over to the bar. I could see her round ass bent over, fetching drinks. She had stretch marks covering both her ass cheeks, and I found myself wanting to trace them.
"Kitten," I called. Her entire body froze just before she quickly shot up to look at me with wide eyes. She had to crane her back back just to meet my eye.
"Sasha?" she asked.
My hand had a mind of its own as I reached out just to touch the waistband of her short-ass shorts. I still couldn't allow myself to believe she was real.
"ÑÑ Ð¾ÑÑавил менÑ," I told her. You left me.
"ÐеÑ, ÑÑ Ñделал," she responded. No, you did.
She looked down at my hand that was covered in bruises and scratches. Shaking her head, she took the tray of shots.
"I'll see you, Kayo."
With that, she walked away.
