I watched her as she walked away from me in her sexy ass yellow dress. Her brown legs looking as long as ever, just begging to be wrapped around me. Every man in the room stopped and stared at her big round ass that jiggled with her every move, and it pissed me off that she would even think about coming to such a placeâespecially dressed like that.
Everyone in the room believed she was now my girl thanks to Kyle. Little did she know, it put a gigantic target on her back. Anyone desperately craving revenge would go after her, and she had no clue how many enemies I made.
Her friends joined her. Three males, and the girl I recognized from the club. I didn't like how one of them stood too close to her, but I knew it wasn't my place to say anything. The second they made it out of the arena, I turned to where I could feel eyes glaring at meâKyle.
He was in the corner of the room, watching me watch her. I couldn't wait to fight him and I was sure the tm were mutual based on the way he held my stare. I didn't like the way he held Everleigh, whispering in her ear. He looked at her like a trophyâa prizeâhe planned on winning. Even if she wasn't, she was every bit of mine and I was guaranteed to make it known. He couldn't have her because I would never allow him to... even through death.
My attention was grasped by the sight of the door opening. Walking in was my little brother and two of his friends. One was actually a fighter I seen once before my own fight... he always looked scared to take a punch. The other friend was someone I didn't recognize, but his face was covering in piercings from his eyebrows to his lips. Dimitri had a smile on his face up until he saw me. His friends are probably the idiots that introduced him to the club.
I never wanted my brothers to know about the underground arena. My duty was to protect them from all the dark shit so they never have to know what it's like to fight for their lives. It was a slap in the face to see my younger brother standing beside his friends in the one place I never wanted to see him at.
"Dimitri," I called, walking over to him. As I stood in front of him, I noticed how much taller he got. Now, he stood just below my neck which was pretty tall for his age. He couldn't be any taller than 6-foot.
"You know Kayo?" one of his friends whispered, but it clearly wasn't quiet enough because I heard every word. I mentally cringed at my nickname falling from his mouth.
"Find us a seat I'll be there in a sec," Dimitri told them. They sparred one last glance at me before walking off in the opposite direction.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked my little brother. He had a smug look on his face as he looked me up and down, taking in the blood I still had me from my last fight.
"I could be asking you the same thing, Kayo," Dimitri stated. Him calling me Kayo stung more than when Everleigh did it. The way the word stabbed me in the chest, making sure to twist the blade, left me wanting to grasp my heart in hopes to save it.
"There's a lot about this that you just don't understand," I justified but it wasn't enough.
"What do you think would happen if Ivan saw you right now? Fuck the rest of us... Ivan looks up to you! He always has!" Dimitri argued.
Again, the blade was just turning and turning, killing me slowly with his every word. Seeing Ivan's disappointment was what kept me away for so long. I couldn't bare the thought of looking into his eyes and seeing some monster looking back at me in the reflection of them.
"I used to, too. Until I realized you were nothing but a phony that ran off like a coward and a hypocrite," Dimitri shot at me.
"Don't worry... I won't tell him," Dimitri whispered.
I couldn't even come up with words to say as he turned back to his group of friends that looked ready to bombard him with a bunch of questions about me. I didn't want to be there for another second. I walked out of the facility and over to my car. I didn't bother hesitating as I started it up and drove off. If it wasn't one thing, it was always a-fucking-nother.
The moment I got in the car, I received a call from no one other than Hastings. I rolled my eyes as I answered it.
"What?" I grumbled.
"Siciliano wants to talk to you... about Kyle. He heard about what happens, and needs to know more. He wants you at his office immediately," Hastings said. I hung up the phone without another word.
Great, I thought to myself.
I hurried down the road as I took the familiar route to the bosses office. He would only contact Hastings to inform me he needed to speak with me if I did something wrong, or if I had to do some torturing or to send someone a message. I only did it when I needed the extra money. I had a simple rule, though, no kids and no women.
His office was quite a drive but I made it to his very tall building. Despite it being late, it looked like there were a ton of lights on and vehicles in the parking lot. I parked my car and pulled a hoodie on just before covering my head with it. Getting out of my vehicle, I made my way into the office building with my head tucked low.
A receptionist was quick to greet me with a big smile.
"What can I do for you today?" she asked.
"I gotta seeâ"
"Kayo!" Mr. Siciliano smiled as he appeared in the doorway. He beckoned me to follow him as he made his way deeper into the office. There weren't many of his employees lurking around because we both knew that after hours were for his other secret business. The only people left in the building were all apart of his famiglia, his mafia.
"Man, what did I tell you about coming dressed like that? It's a professional business..." Mr. Siciliano stated as we walked.
"Hey!" he pointed at one of his guards as we made our way into the elevator. "Get him a suit!"
The guard gave a curt nod and hit the up key just before the doors of the elevator closed.
"I wasn't prepared for no meeting," I told him gruffly.
"You should always be prepared," Mr. Siciliano said. The elevator began to go up all the way to the very top level. Slowly, the doors pulled apart and we entered his office where a woman was standing there holding up a suit for me. She flashed a kind smile as she handed it to me and walked away.
"Now..." Mr. Siciliano began. He unbuttoned the last button of his suit jacket before sitting down in his office chair. "If it weren't for all the excitement you built up for the fight you and Kyle will have, I would be pissed."
I clenched my jaw to refrain from saying anything that could get me killed.
"No fighting will be done unless it's in that god damn ring where both you and I can make money, am I understood?" he asked.
I nodded.
"Of course, I didn't call you all this way to scold you like my child. I called you all this way because I wanted to talk about that girl," he said.
My eyes practically shot open. Everleigh. I knew it was terrible that she came, and now my boss had gotten wind of her.
"She was the bottle girl at your party, no?" he questioned.
"What does this have to do with her?" I asked him.
"Well, you and Kyle were about to fight over her in my arena! If it weren't for Hastings, I don't know what would've happened. I don't know how much you would've cost me," he said.
I shook my head. "Leave her out of it."
"That's the thing, Kayo, she's in it," Mr. Siciliano stood up. "I got message after message about the incident... everyone trying to figure out who this 'girl' is. Everyone anticipating the fight over who wins the 'girl'. Every fucking body dying to see this fight with some WWE plot-line. I got somebody willing to bet a million! Yes, a million!"
I stayed silent.
"So, you're going to give it to them," he said, looking me directly in the eye.
"How?"
"Take her out, bring her to your fights, rock her fucking world, and when it comes down to your fight against Kyle, you make it known the winner takes her," he explained.
"Takes her? Meaning, what, exactly?" I asked.
"Guess," he chuckled.
"So if he wins, he can just have her? Like that? What makes you think she would want that?" I questioned with furrowed brows.
"There are methods. Let's just say, you better hope you win. Especially since there's a million dollar bet in our favor."
