A King's White Rose
A King's White Rose
Chapter 1: Beautiful Eyes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Warm sun bathed his skin as he viewed over his balcony edge. The cool smell of the breeze whisking by and causing movement to his lengthy hair in the process.
His skin got the touch of the invisible breath, his not so dressy robe giving less movement after being tied to his naked body.
The sight before him was something he admired whenever he had the chance. This was his moment to. Just watching off, the urge to shift into his gigantic form and flow with the breeze, bask in the heat of that sun.
Unfortunately, that wasn't going to happen. Not today it seemed.
The doors behind Valdemar, the clattering of shoes onto his floors yet the King didn't turn to look at the intrusive individual.
"King Valdemar." He said.
He grumbled, his calming feeling deteriorating into nothing. "What?" He bellowed, deep red eyes narrowed onto the horizon.
"I apologize for interrupting your free time, my King, but you have a visitor. A...Motherly visitor." The man said with a careful tone informed.
Valdemar didn't move for a while and looked back to his counselor. "Vaayn, didn't I say to lock the gates before that woman?"
"Yes yet she always finds a way to get onto the grounds."
Valdemar grumbled in distaste, absolutely annoyed that his mother was doing this again. Didn't she have a stop button? But this was his mother he was speaking about. An ancient dragon like her was bound to get her way even if he was King of Dragons.
With a rub on his nose, Valdemar sighs and turns to face the inside of his chambers. "Let's just get this over with."
Vaayn bows his head as Valdemar passed him with a gust of wind. The King of Dragons was one to be awed and feared. His demeanor radiated a aura to bow to and cower even.
But when it came to his mother, he knew that it was a matter of time before his whole dragon fearing aura to sizzle off round her.
But she was here for a purpose and Valdemar may know the purpose for her visit. That drew smoke to exhaust out of his nose.
Valdemar dressed himself in his leather jeans, high up boots with metal carvings at the soul of them. A blousing top that had laced pieces to hold the two front pieces together and cover the lower parts of Valdemar's physically toned body. It all put together and fastened with a leather thick belt and golden buckle.
Valdemar brushed the front parts of his long shadow hair out his way and came to the acception that he was going down there to tell his mother to go away and never bother him until it's a war breaking out from the Western Kingdom.
He took off out of the room, walking down the vast halls, passing his guards on the way who bowed their heads and soluted.
"Did she tell you why she came?"
"I would guess it was for the reason why she came so many other times. But I guess you already know that, my king."
Valdemar scoffs. His mother is always so passionate about this one thing. Couldn't he just stay lonely, without the company of an omega on his side. Gods he didn't need one of anyone.
His people didn't need to see him mingling with a potential partner and thinking he'll go soft for the creature that is an omega. Just thinking about it makes him uncomfortable.
He was going to have to protect another frail body, another person who wasn't as far away as possible from his lair or his castle.
So he had to do something about this. Give his mother what she wants for a period of time then send them off and never look back.
Most of the omegas his mother gave to him as temporary company to see how it will go didn't go anywhere but shipping the annoyances away from him and his kingdom. Most were in it for the power, money, fame, to boast. Nothing about love or becoming his.
And honestly he was glad when they were like that. Made it easier for him to place them on a boat and ship them off to wherever that sails took 'em.
Valdemar pushed open the large bulky doors of his throne room, the sights of his mother sitting there made him scowl.
Sitting on a side seat, drinking her tea in comfortable silence, was a ash blonde woman, ageless to the eyes of all but old in age. Her beauty outstanding and what took his father, the former dragon king, by storm.
Her name is Eileithya Sevillirion.
His mother dressed in her corset top, pulled on sleeved that were ruffled and long and pants dazzled in diamonds and gold laces and gems.
She placed on with shimmering heels and her hair wrapped in a high bun and tucked in were chained pearl.
"Mother." He rumbled between his teeth, stopping before her with his arms folded.
Eileithya placed her cup down and smiled with her eyes up at her son. "My lovely son. Look how I've missed you."
Valdemar didn't reply and narrowed his eyes lower. "Why are you here, again?"
"Oh hunny you know that so why ask." She chuckled as she stood up from her seat. "I came here just for the reason you think."
"Mother I respect that you don't want me alone but let me make it clear, all of this is going to vain. So stop while your ahead."
The woman dimed her smile enough to show her rhinestone red eyes. "Yes those unfortunate ones were surely disappointing." She agreed with a nod.
"Great so leave-"
"But." She held her hand up and grinned. "I have found someone very fitting for you. Especially for that untamed grumpiness you held on from your father."
Valdemar watched on as his mother walked passed him. He wanted to just pick her up and chuck her back to the carriage where she must belong, yet, he didn't do that and just rubbed his throbbing temple with his finger.
The headache was real and her stubbornness was realer.
"Why hasn't father come or stopped you?"
"Oh your lazy excuse of a father had other business. Like participating in javelin with the other elder leader dragons on their centuries retirement. You know him and his games now. Usually it would have been him lodging a spear through a poor unfortunate souls throat but now with you in rule he picked something absolutely boring." She complained, waving her hand about and scoffing at that fact.
Valdemar just blew more smoke and folded his arms as he stood beside her. Ok so using his father was out of the option. So Valdemar just sighed in defeat.
"So what are we waiting for then? Get it done with."
"Your so impatient boy. He will be here just now. Are you eager to meet him or something?" Her eyes looked up his own with a sly smirk tipping her lip up.
"No." He growled lowly, not even looking to her.
Eileithya chuckled unfazed. "Well your mind is about to change son. Well..sooner or later." She shrugs.
Valdemar looked to his counselor who only stood to his side and said nothing. They met eyes and Vaayn just nods his head. Valdemar grumbled again.
I should have flown off the edge when I had the chance..
The whole time they waited, Valdemar had his eyes closed and he just counted in his mind and thought of ways to get rid of the omega. So many options he could choose from.
But..his thoughts were cut off when his mother spoke out.
"Darling you've finally arrived!" She announced which caused Valdemar to open his eyes to peek.
Peeking wasn't on the list right now. Neither was getting fed up, or annoyed, or anything negative and downright bad.
He blinked, taking a good look to the person walking in here in white. His surroundings became cold but not in a way that was danger or a warner. It was like the cold winters wind coming into the throne room.
His peripherals caught the sight of this..white dressed in many layers of laced or thin clothes. Long sleeves that cover their hands entirely, crystals lining head jewelry on their forehead, the large gem touching that pale skin. One of those embroidery hanfu robes that Royal Chinese families wear.
Long white hair, curly and full. Small yet firm. The clothing will drift or dance but the heavier layed parts dragged against the carpet.
They came closer, they were in front of him, they looked up at him. Almost transparent crystalized blue eyes looked at his deep ruby eyes.
Such.. Beautiful Eyes..
But he didn't see the rest of their face. Where his nose and mouth were supposed to show were blocked by a coating white cloth. A face veil with their own lining of hanging ice crystals.
He didn't move. He didn't say anything. He just stared into those eyes, drawn in like a moth to a flame.
"My King."
Valdemar woke up and looked to Vaayn. "What?" He mumbled, staring at him in confusion.
"You zooned out." He replied in the exact whisper. Valdemar snuffed and looked back to that blue eyed beauty.
Valdemar's mother stood besides her son and couldn't help her smile. "My son let me introduce you to, your soon-to-be wife."
Valdemar kept his eyes on the other. He didn't snarl, or look disgusted at the words but he still felt unfortunate that he was doing this all over again.
"Name." He asked, nodding to the other looking to him.
The beauty bowed before the King, not to low and not to short either when he replied in a delicate voice.
"Lixue Elster, your majesty."
Valdemar hums. "Your from the Artic Kingdom aren't you?"
Lixue fixed his posture and placed both his hands to the front of him. "Yes. I am from the Frost Elf Tribe Kingdom."
Valdemar looks to his mother. "A Prince of a snowed over Kingdom?"
"Great match don't you think? Fire meets Ice." She said with a stared gaze, feeling proud she was able to get the Elvin Emperor to accept the request to marry off their last son to her only get heated and grumpy dragon for brains son.
Valdemar grumbled under his breath and eyed the other again. Eileithya cleared her throat. "Now I shall be on my leave then. I've gave you my purpose and now it's your decision to go with the arrangement or.. completely make me lose hope in even getting you a love life."
"Your input can put your efforts dull."
"We won't know till you stop being a grumpy ass like your father and embraced this beautiful omega as your own." She said, squeezing the shoulders of Lixue who just close lip smiled behind the cloth.
Valdemar growled again. "Just leave. You'll know how it went when you find him back at his homeland.." He said.
Eileithya was highly doubtful about his claims to ship off Lixue back to his Kingdom. If the first intense stare said anything, she was sure her son will fall very hard for Lixue when he sees his true beauty behind this veil.
Eileithya shrugs her shoulder and released the omega's. "If you say so my love. We shall see in three months then. Anyways, your father must be missing me criticizing him about his games so I will head back."
Valdemar looked away from her with that one, still mumbling. Eileithya didn't give mind and looked to Lixue.
"My dear, remember what we talked about on the carriage ride here."
Lixue nods his head. "Yes I do. Thank you for the advice."
She smiled and patted his cheek lightly. "Wonderful. Now have fun you two." She sang as she left the room, her right hand lady following behind her.
Silence fell between the two, no one said a word and Lixue rather waited for what the King of Dragons had to say. Maybe he just thought he would yell at him or something but he didn't.
The one said to have a heavy temper, turned his heel and stormed off after giving one order to his counselor.
"Vaayn, take him to his chamber. Let him pick what he wants."
Vaayn took that mental note already so he asked.
"And where may you be heading, King Valdemar?"
"Away from here." He said as a fog of black smoke hissed from between clenched sharpened teeth.
The King was now gone and now all was left was Lixue and the Dragon King's trusted Counselor.
"Apologies for that, Valdemar is one to like his peace and quiet. Loneliness is his only way of freedom. So don't mind how he is." The counselor said, gesturing Lixue out of the throne room.
Lixue hums. "It's quite alright. If space is what he needs then he doesn't have to worry about me. But..by chance can I get a room closest to the library?"
Vaayn looks to Lixue and blinked. "Your fine with being alone?"
Lixue nods his head. "It's very calming. I tend to like my own silence back at my homeland. Apologies if that is unexpected for you."
Vaayn smiles and waved his hand. "Not at all. It's just something to hear from a chosen omega to want to be alone. Especially when their soon to be wedded to the King of Dragons."
Lixue let's a breezy laugh. "Not something to expect yes..But I mean no harm and just going along with the arrangement."
Vaayn hums and nods. "I understand. Well I hope you enjoy your time here in the Kingdom, your Highness."
The Prince took a bow of his head and heads into the room that was said to be closer to the library. Lixue knew his father must be boiling with anxiety and muttering about how he let his son off to the Dragon King.
But Lixue wanted to take up on the offer cause, when will he ever go again? This was his only opportunity of freedom.
Even if the King didn't like him, he still was going to make the best of this and live his life in a new territory.
That sounds fun, no?
