A King's White Rose

Chapter 13: Unwell

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Ok, Caesium, begin."
The stallion neighed and chuffed, bowing low just for Lixue to climb onto his back. It was a bit hard knowing where Lixue's height lays but his wife was strong.
Lixue got onto Caesium's back and brushed the stallion's mane. Valdemar moved forward, arms folded.
"Ok love, we'll go slow. If you feel comfortable in trying on your own say so. I don't wish to take away your freedom by hounding behind you."
Lixue chuckled at his comment. "You already hound me, my King."
Valdemar rolled his eyes but his smile kept on his handsome face. "It's needed, my Queen. You are a jewel to me. But a strong and relentless one."
Lixue blushed and lightly brushed his fingers on Valdemar's jaw lovingly. "You flatter me to much. Now, enough of this tease and let's get to learning." Valdemar shakes his head in amusement and patted his war horse. "You ready Caesium?"
The horse neighed excitedly, lifting his head high and his body seemed to have grewn in strength and size. Valdemar was very pleased yet rolled his eyes at his behavior.
"Good. My treasure, make sure to hold on."
Lixue nods his head and Caesium walking forward, Valdemar keeping watch from where he stood. He found that giving Lixue his space to learn and experience his new life outside and new activities was good.
He liked the reactions too. After all he's been a bigger difference to the people. They had brute force and might as a king and their queen a delicate rose with thorns.
His omega isn't one to just coo at. Lixue didn't want to be cooed. He didn't hate the idea of being loaded with affection and quality time but disliked if it was taking away his freedom cause of overprotection and restrictions because of his gene.
That ment an earful and alot of attitude coming from his wife if anything. And he won't change that for anything. His wife was powerful that is for one.
Caesium came back and Lixue was all smiles. "Oh that was fun. Can we try a bit more speed?" Valdemar looked to Caesium who looked like he wanted to do the same. Show off his speed and what a true war stallion speed was like.
"I can't say no to you. Let's true outside where there is more space."
Lixue gotten more excited. "Wonderful."
"Bring me a horse. I and my wife will be going for a ride." He said out to a servent. The servent quickly nodded and went to the stalls where all the healthy horses were located.
Valdemar had gotten anothed horse for himself, hopping on his back and directing him next to Caesium and his beloved. "Can you keep up?"
"I'm sure Caesium and I will, right Caesium?" He asked the stallion, scratching under his chin and getting a neigh of agreement. Lixue smirked. "Can you keep up?"
Valdemar scoffed at the question. "Who ever reach's the waterfall will know the answer. How about that?" He smirked. Lixue smirked back. "Deal."
"Wonderful~"
Valdemar watched as the gates open and he rode off quickly. Lixue right behind him.
And so the days had passed on. Lixue has been doing very well in his ruling and gaining his new skills of riding.
The two will find some times to keep their bond and time together. And that ment in any ways possible that is.
But since those days passed, busy was a thing and especially when there was a war is pending. But even when a war was pending, other things were inevitable.
~~~~~~~~~~~

A simple dinner between the King and His Queen, dished out foods from the head cheif lined the dinner table before the royal couple.

They conversated, talking about what happened a few days before.

"So..he wants to cause chaos? Isn't his master dead?" Lixue asked his husband, eyes meeting his own. Valdemar nods his head, watching as his cup was filled with the red substance.

"Their master is infact dead. Baltimore killed the last one, putting the former at position. Then the war broke out and the mortals were taken in as slaves." Valdemar began to explain the gist of the situation.

From the fact that the late boss of the mortals died during the war, they were freed and scattered about the world. But some didn't like the fact they were disbanded.

Baltimore found that Valdemar was getting to much credit, practically licking at the praise and worship he was getting. He hated that.

The old man spend years plotting his way to get ontop, have the Dragon King fall from his prophecy pedestal he was born upon.

Now he had more people to believe his lies, be manipulated into their death by use of family and friends. Tricked and clouded by potions from mages and warlocks.

That was the kind of person Baltimore was.

Lixue's lips pursed at the story. He was a bitter old man who wanted to be seen, wanted to be in power. He didn't know why he ould have killed his first master or what had changed about him after the second one's death but he was barking at the wrong tree.

"I see.." Lixue spoke. "It's unnecessary however."

Valdemar rose an eyebrow. "How come?"

"Because you are a dragon shifter. A King of a large Kingdom. Who established a greater army by millions and soldiers who could while out a whole kingdom without breaking a sweat. That is just suicide." Lixue said.

Valdemar chuckled and nods. "That indeed it is. And tha bastard knows it. He already brought up something that can mess up my mind to madness, at this point only death can stop him.."

Lixue frowned but he knew he was right. He wanted to think something was wrong with the old man, try to talk with him, but what he have witness so far, talking was non-existent.

"But let's not worry about that now, my treasure. Let's eat." Valdemar said, breaking the silence that collected above them. Lixue smiled at his gesture to eat.

As Lixue looked to his food, the dish brimming with foods beyond his wildest dreams. It looked appetizing. But instead of eating said foods he stared at it blankly.

He was hungry then not hungry. The scent had his head spinning, stomach curling inward, and muscles stiffening. Something wasn't right. Everything on this table had the looks of something to drool but then the smell of something irritatedly disgusting.

He needed to spill whatever he ate and he didn't understand why.

Before he knew it he was excusing himself from the table.

"Pardon..I will be back ok?"

Valdemar stopped eating and watching his beloved in confusion. "Where are you going? Is everything ok?" Lixue only nodded before he was hussling off out of the dinning room.

Valdemar found it odd that he left. He looked a bit unsettled and upset with something. But he said he'll be back. So it will be fine.

Right?

~~~~~
Valdemar sat there watching at the empty dinning seat. His queen wasn't back. This was worrisome. Very worrisome.
Valdemar tapped the table, glancing back at the door and to the chair.
What is taking him so long..?
Valdemar grumbled and hold his tapping. He had to find him. This was getting ridiculous. Valdemar rose up from his chair and stormed out of the room.
"King Valdemar where are you going?"
"To find my wife. Don't follow me." He ordered sternly before he went off to their private chambers.
Valdemar passed by some servents, asked them where Lixue went off only to be told he rushed to the bed chambers, covering his mouth. They tried to ask him what was the matter but he only shaked his head and pressed on.
Valdemar quickened his pace till he arrived at the bedroom. He bursted through the doors with an exclaim of Lixue's name.
"Lixue!"
Silence..
Valdemar gazed about the large room, smelt about the scented room of both roses and roasting fire. Then their was a hint of distress. Maybe something else but that wasn't his problem now.
Valdemar headed straight for the bathroom where he was met with Lixue hovered over the smooth stone surface, warm water falling out the tap.
His beloved looked down eyes closed and clenching the oval edge, swaying a bit.
He went to Lixue and gently placed his hands onto his believes hips. "Are you ok?" Lixue flinched at the feeling, his eyes snapping open and head reeling back and lifted to meet worried eyes down at his.
"Valdemar?.." Lixue mumbled, his hand placed on Valdemar's chest.
Valdemar took that hand and squeezed. "You look pale, what happened? What is the matter?" He asked eagerly, trying to use his eyes to find out the reason but only seeing color drain more from Lixue's already snow white skin.
Lixue shaked his head. "I'm fine..I just was feeling unwell. It's all good now." He smiled softly at him before he wiggled out of the hold. Valdemar blinked and followed behind him after.
"Are you sure?" He asked, still watching his behavior and lack of walking in a straight line. Lixue placed his hand to his temple. "Yes I'm fine-"
Lixue's eyes rolled into his head and his body went limp. Lixue had passed out.
"Lixue!"
