Chapter 15: Banquet

[5 Months Later]

Lixue hasn't been able to leave the safety of a room and monitoring. Might be wondering what I meant by monitoring?

To answer that question, or if you have already figured out, due to the two species mating with one another, the one carrying must be monitored for a few months to make sure the offspring is safe and out of the red zone of miscarriage.

But even if your the same species mating, there is at least a month of monitoring before the omega is released with some restrictions on what he or she can handle during that period of time.

Lixue here spend a good few months in the castle, mostly in bed and cared for. He hated that especially when Valdemar was busy. Valdemar didn't like the fact he was copped up in the castle, or that he would come to check on his beloved or rest and see a pouting queen standing there waiting.

It would be cute at first then as Lixue opened his mouth, Valdemar is pierced with millions of complaints.

Yes, those were the days.

But now, Lixue was up and about. With his stomach enlarged with a unborn child, it didn't stop the Queen himself from going about his business and helping as much as the servents and people will allow.

Besides that, there was to be a banquet soon, meaning preparations for that had already begun. Eileithya even decided to stay for the few weeks just to keep Lixue some company and explain everything he needs to know before child birth and the ways they do it.

It was scary to hear, absolutely painful but he was reassured that it would be quick and painless when he does arrive to that time.

Lixue sighs in relief, placing his hand on his round stomach. "What trouble you put me through.." He talked to his stomach as if the unborn can hear his words. Eileithya chuckled. "You are strong. I could see it. My grandchild will be just as strong."

Lixue smiled at her words. "I trust so."

"Trust in what?"

Lixue looks behind him and saw his husband entering into the room and straight for him. Lixue smiled more at the sight of the Dragon King.

"I trust the your child will arrive quickly without much pain." He repeated to him. Valdemar placed his arms round Lixue hands placed under the protruding belly. "Is that so?"

Lixue nods. "Yes. I'm not up for spending long anyways." Valdemar hums, pressing a kiss to Lixue's forehead. "I don't want to see you in any pain anyways. So it's better like that." Lixue closed his eyes and enjoyed the affection. He was nervous but enjoyed the little moments.

Eileithya smiled more at their sweet moments, the love in their eyes truly show and it made her miss her husband.

"My King can I ask you something?"

Valdemar listened to his question, raising an eyebrow. "As away." Lixue thought of a way to ask him so he turned to face Valdemar, cuped his face down to his height and looked at him seriously. "Take me outside."

Valdemar blinked, the sound of his mother giggling behind was an addition and the realization to what Lixue asked.

"What?" The Dragon King takes those hands into his big palms. "Are you sure?" Lixue frowned and nods. "Everything is so crowded..I haven't been outside since I started carrying your child."

Lixue goes to pinch Valdemar's ear only for the Dragon King to take back the hand and hold tight. "Ok ok, you want the outside."

Lixue frowned switched into a pleasing smile. "Thank you my King."

Valdemar sighs but chuckled. "Your welcome my treasure." Valdemar turns to Rou and Vaayn. "Help get him ready." Rou happily bowed and excused herself before heading for Lixue. Valdemar just watched as they left.

Truly a piece of work.

Eileithya shakes her head at her son. "You have gotten so soft." She told him as she pats his shoulder. Valdemar side eyed his mother but sighs. "He has changed me into something I would have demised." He admitted.

Eileithya laughed. "That he did."

"At least someone had the stubborn attitude to tell you." Vaayn spoke up. Valdemar glared at his counselor and rolled his eyes. "Your one to talk about stubbornness. You have gotten to comfortable."

Vaayn chuckled at that. "I learned it along the way." Valdemar rolled his eyes again. "Whatever. Your dismissed to do as you please."

Vaayn bowed and lefted the mother and son duo alone in the room. Valdemar sighed once again.

Eileithya patted his back this time. "Everything will be fine. You guys enjoy outside. I think it would be better of Lixue and the baby." Valdemar looks to his mother and nods his head.

"I guess your right."

"You guess? Hunny I'm always right."

Valdemar just groaned. "I can't with you."

"I'm your mother you walking tyrant!"

"I supposed that's where I got it from." Valdemar shouted after her before he walked out of the room fully.

Eileithya chuckled once more and continued what she was previously doing before.

Right, food.

The King and his Queen left the castle grounds on Caesium. Caesium taking his time in carrying his favorite person who was with child.

When the stallion heard of the news he was galloping and prancing about, neighing in excitement. The war horse even nuzzled in for a hug from Lixue to which Lixue repayed with that action.

To all true, Caesium was protective of Lixue. It didn't matter what or who you were, there was going to be a 6 feet 3 inches built horse in your way. He was even more protective now that his favorite person was pregnant. That was definite no touching or coming near the Queen even if you wanted to talk.

But even though Lixue had the protection from both Caesium and Valdemar, they didn't have to be on such guard now that they were outside, on the same secret path of the waterfall.

That had them relaxed but alert.

Caesium reached the waterfall and breathtaking scenery. Valdemar moved off Caesium's back and helped his omega off the stallion right after.

Lixue took the help and looked about the never changing scene. It was some times where there will be new animals coming over or a deer family passingby for a water break, or a bird family preparing for their young to hatch.

It was always something that peeked the elf male's attention. Especially the kiss that was placed to his cheek making Lixue giggle.

Valdemar pulled away with a smile. "I was given things to eat. So where will you like to set up?" He asked.

Lixue hummed in deep thought and thoroughly examined the surroundings. His eyes matched a tree, hanging branches and a grassy bed to sit on. He pointed to it.

"How about there?"

Valdemar glanced over nods his head. "Great place." Lixue grinned at the praise. "Yes my eyes are gifts." Valdemar snuffed a laugh. "They're true gifts indeed. Just like their owner."

Lixue blushed at his husband's complimenting words.

"Your to sweet. Oh where were the days you used to hate me?"

Valdemar cringed as he guided his beloved to the spot. "Why must you remind me of the past...?" Lixue laughed. "Oh darling, cause I can't wait to tell our child all about their father and his ways of running away."

Valdemar was flabbergasted that his wife will say such things like that. Even to their child. "That story will never be said."

Lixue chuckled. "Is that challenge?"

"I dare you."

"Oh my King, never do that. It will said whether you like it."

"Lixue our child will think I feared omegas."

Lixue smiled. "No dear..you just hated love-"

"Ah-"

"And omegas."

Valdemar snapped his head down to his now seated wife. "Listing me to such slander and humiliation. I thought you loved me." Lixue caressed Valdemar's cheek. "Of course I love you. I also loved your past attempts. It was adorable."

Valdemar scoffed but didn't get angry with it. His beloved thought of it lightly despite how he treated him in the past. Either way, he was happy to see that smile more often. It all ended with a good ending.

"Right of course."

The Queen and King sat besides one another, talking and embracing their new chapter of life.

Talking about embarrassing stories they had with each other and thinking about which will be a better story to tell their child.

It ended with laughter. During those moments came Valdemar and Lixue sharing foods with one another while enjoying the silence.

After, Valdemar decided to show off some skills to his beloved. Wanting to show off what he learned and impress Lixue. Lixue watched with awe and affection as Valdemar showed him some tricks with the bows and swords.

Serious yet ready to smile as Lixue applaud him after his performance. Caesium decided he wanted to join his master and Lixue enjoyed the show.

But as those performances continued Lixue felt a movement within him. He stopped for a second, thinking he was feeling stuff. Only, he wasn't.

He waited for it again and he did feel it.

Their moving.

Lixue got a strong kick and he gasped. Valdemar stopped his show business and snapped his head to Lixue. The king dropped anything that had taken his attention and goes to Lixue's side.

"What's wrong? Are you ok? Is our child ok?" He asked as he placed his palm on Lixue's stomach. Lixue smiled up at Valdemar. "Yes I'm fine. Just, their a strong kicker."

Valdemar blinked. Kicker? Did he mean..

Then Valdemar felt it. Right under his palm was movement. The Dragon King lit up with an itching smile and growing love. First movement which ment their unborn was fine. Alive and well.

Valdemar locked eyes with Lixue and Lixue smiled more. "I told they're ok." Valdemar relaxed at the countless reassurance. Since the days Lixue has been locked away in the castle, in bed, he always would check in on the their child's movement, or if there were any.

But now he didn't have to worry himself think that this pregnancy for his omega and himself will go down in sorrow.

Thank goodness..

Valdemar was so relieved that he rested his head ontop of his beloved's belly, caressing it and just reveling in the moment.

Lixue has been smiling way to much at this point but he couldn't help it. Not when his husband was showing this display and pressing his forehead onto his stomach.

Love within and the bond that between him and Valdemar had his heart expanding with adornment for this Dragon King. He allows this moment to go on, his finger combing through Valdemar's hair.

But as usual, they weren't alone and the moment between them was interrupted as Caesium snuggled his nose in.

Valdemar looked to Caesium and stared. "What now you giant mule?"

Caesium took that very personally and snorted in retaliation. Lixue hits Valdemar ok his shoulder with a heartfelt laugh. "That isn't nice. Caesium is a beautiful stallion."

Caesium neighed with a bow of his neck in agreement and show. Valdemar shakes his head and gets up.

"Fine, you won this time, Caesium."

Caesium snorts up happily and moved his nose back to Lixue's stomach. The stallion pressed his muzzle on the bump and moved to sit beside Lixue.

Lixue was surprised as this massive horse planted his body down onto the ground and bended his head to come in contact with his belly just the way Valdemar was.

Lixue looks to Valdemar and Valdemar just smiled, leaning to press a kiss to his beloved's temple.

"Better don't bother him." He said jokingly. Lixue showed his white teeth in a large smile and pets Caesium. "Of course not.." Lixue replied as he kept scratching and caressing Caesium as he just stared in that spot and didn't move his head whatsoever.

It was adorable and very peaceful..

Music filled the ball room of the castle.

The ball room was packed with the people of the village, some coming and more staying outside to dance, drink and celebrate.

Upbeat music, people locking arms and spinning around; Cheers and clapping engulfed the very large and enchanting room.

Everyone was happy and excited. Their kingdom was about to have an heir. Who would have known these things will happen so quickly in the span of a few months.

Even royals from the neighboring kingdoms came for the festive tradition.

Bastian and his Empress Eitri, Hadeon was surprisingly here talking with someone that seemed to peek his interest, Valdemar's parents were there and even Lixue's father was attended without his siblings joining unfortunately.

Everyone seemed be really enjoying themselves and patiently waiting for the King and Queen to arrive here.

"May I have everyone's attention!" Vaayn yelled out, the stump of spears hitting the grounds of the surrounding knights in glistening armor and serious expressions.

The room quiet at the sound of that and turned to the counselor. The counselor smiled.

"I am pleased to welcome, his lordship, King Valdemar and his Majesty, Queen Lixue."

The people watched as Vaayn stepped out of the way in space for Valdemar and Lixue's entry.

The people's eyes grew with awe as they witness their King and Queen in their royal and exquisitely pleasing attire. The Queen more taking the attention since he hasn't been seen by the kingdom's people in so long.

They dressed in the Kingdom's signature color of red, Lixue dressed with a fluffy white coat that represented the Ice Kingdom from once he came.

Lixue seemed to have become even more beautiful, he was practically glowing. Maybe it was the pregnancy, who knew, all they knew was that everyone was as good as silent as the powerful royal couple stood above the staircase, linked arms.

Everyone got a grip and bowed in unison and respectfully at them. Smiles plastered the faces of the invited citizens at the sight of the queen.

His stomach after all was already large making people thing he was already close to giving birth or so.

6, 7, 8 9- Wait, Yeah not even close.

Besides, they were more marvled on how Lixue was even more ethereal, like a fallen angel from the highest heavens just descended and married their King.

Such blessings they thought when they saw him.

Dragon King Valdemar was proud of his wife. Drawn, strucken by him, very much. His wife deserved all the praise and awe looks in the world.

And he was glad he was able to gain Lixue as his own before anyone decided otherwise.

The Banquet commenced. Lixue was gifted and praised beyond any stop by the citizens. One by one, child and adult, came to wish him the best and congratulate him in his healthy carry.

It was all good things, positive, loving and kind. Everyone was happy and got their turn to speak with him. Even the orphanage came to.

Orian had raced passed everyone and clung to Lixue's leg. His face was brightened with a large smile that got contagious and had Lixue smiling down at him.

The rest of the orphan children all gathered round Lixue and stayed there and played round him and the throne chair he seated on.

The sight brought even more love to the people. They got very lucky in a queen like him.

After the gifting ceremony, party and music started up again and everyone danced about in the ballroom.

Lixue stayed with Empress Eitri, the pink haired fair omega male telling him stories and just enjoying himself as he talekd with another male queen like himself.

Valdemar was stuck in a conversation with Hadeon and Bastion, the parents of the Valdemar and Lixue conversated with one another instead.

The night was going good. Lively and joyous. No one thought anything will interrupted this moment.

Thought they thought.

Selin came over to Valdemar and whispered something urgently into his ear. Valdemar looked to her in confusion.

"What." He said, staring at her with a burning anger.

Selin bowed her head in a nod. "It's urgent. They've burned half of the outside village. Assassin squad Commander Klein has already taken care of the flames. I had the rest of the men set out to help in relief."

Valdemar growled into his throat and glanced to his wife. He didn't want to bother him. Stressing him wasn't on the plate either. He needed to enjoy himself and not worry.

Valdemar looked to Selin. "Get your men. We're leaving now." Selin saluted and hurried back out. Hadeon and Bastion looked to Valdemar.

"I hate to ask, but , mind if I join you?" Hadeon asked him. Bastion raised his hand aswell. "Yes I could join. I'll bring some of my guards to help." The mortal smiled.

Hadeon rolled his eyes but waited for Valdemar to speak.

"Do what you just don't get intervened. Vaayn, spread the news to my wife that'll I'll be back."

Vaayn bows. "You have my word."

With that, the two Dragon Kings and one Mortal Emperor headed out of the castle grounds. Straight to where the situation burned and raged a clear message.

WAR.
