Chapter 17: Anything for you..

Lixue slowly sat up from his bed, his hand reaching to his back as he groaned and moaned in uncomfortable pain. This whole pregnancy thing wasn't the best for him.

And with this straining time of carrying a child, came the want of food. To be exact, something sweet and a bit sour.

Strawberries..

Lixue's eyes looks over to his husband, his fast asleep husband and he thought. Should he wake him up? Would he be mad he woke him at this hour? After all the sun isn't even near it's woke..

Doesn't matter.

"Val.. Valdemar.." Lixue whispered as he tapped the back of the sleeping King. "Darling, my King."

"Hm.."

Valdemar groaned heavily into his sleep as the constant tapping and shaking and name calling caught his attention.

Lixue tapped again. "Valdemar wake up."

Valdemar slurred in base deep volume and tone, his eyes peeling open and dazed with sleep. "I'm awake.. I'm awake." The Dragon King said as he turned his face to Lixue.

Lixue watched down at him, hand rubbing his back and frowning when Valdemar became silent again.

The Dragon King however wasn't awake. He was still asleep as he said those words. Lixue, his wife to speak of, was very aware. He frowned deeper and slapped Valdemar on his bare back.

"Valdemar!"

"I'm up!" Valdemar's hands lifted him up, his eyes flown open and creased when the stinging feel of pain vibrated on his back. He grunted. "Love..yes I'm up what is it?.." He asked now that he was alert and not half asleep.

Lixue watched his husband and scowled this time. "I'm hungry." Valdemar sniffled as though his nose scratched and blinked to Lixue. Lixue's expression didn't change and realization to what Lixue just said dawned in the King's mind.

"Your hungry?"

"I'm sure my husband isn't deaf."

Valdemar.. wasn't impressed and frowned himself. He glanced to the balcony to see if the sun was up or at least peeking but..it wasn't. The moon was still shinning and the darkness still loaned thick over their Kingdom and it's vast forest lands as far as the eyes can see.

Valdemar blinked more when he noticed the hour and back to Lixue who was looking restless and rubbing at his belly. Valdemar sighs. He was at first thinking of saying something about the situation but then with that expression and behavior of his beloved he couldn't do it.

After all he isn't the one carrying the child now is he? So complaining about hour and time to his pregnant wife was like verbal suicide.

"What do you want my treasure?"

Lixue turned his pained face to Valdemar and thought of his first answer. When he did, he replied excitedly. "Strawberries oh and that...what was that pink and green fruit?"

"The Dragon fruit?"

"Yes the rare one." Lixue smiled happily. Valdemar smiled back and leaned in to press a kiss to his lover's temple then down to his stomach where his unborn squirmed within.

Lixue revoled in the affectionate and caring way of husband before Valdemar left to get the things for him.

Ah to have a husband like him is a dream come true. A true alpha if he does say so himself.

Valdemar came back after, taking off his coat and bringing the bowl of sliced Dragon Fruit and strawberries. The red succulence of fruits were cut and proceeded to be consumed by that crave.

He sets down the book he was once reading and taken the bowl given to him. The first taste of the garden picked strawberries had him smiling wildly. Valdemar chuckled at him, shaking his head.

Lixue frowned. "What are you laughing at?"

"Your adorableness. Our child seems to have a sweet tooth tonight. He or she have gotten something from you."

Lixue flushed the color of the strawberry and kept eating at it shyly. "Stop complimenting me while I'm eating. It's rude.."

Valdemar layed on his side of the bed to only place his head ontop of Lixue's rounded bump. Lixue was confused on the sudden use of him as a pillow but it didn't matter now since Valdemar was taking his hand and taking the strawberry into his mouth.

Lixue blinked at the action and looked down to Valdemar, the don't care Dragon King, who just ate and layed there.

"I won't ask."

Valdemar snorts a laugh. Lixue bubbled in his own sets of laughter with him. "God your head is heavy.." He groaned as he tried to push the Dragon King's head off of his stomach.

Valdemar faked a dramatic hum. "Heavy? My head is rightly proportional." Lixue rolled his eyes. "None of you is rightly proportional. Your massive and not human."

"Neither are you, so how about that?"

Lixue snorts. "My King I didn't need clarification. But I'll like you get off of me."

Valdemar rolled his eyes and turned to his side, his ear now pressed onto the bump instead. "I'm rather comfortable. I'm sure my offspring wants me near."

Lixue whined at his stubbornness. "Are you sure your a Dragon King? Your right now acting like a child."

Valdemar didn't answer him, just stayed there and laughed. Lixue let's out an exhausted breath before wheezing out. Valdemar lifted off his beloved in fear.

"What is it? Are you ok?"

Lixue nods his head but his expression showed something else. It was obvious he was paining. He felt sorry and kisses Lixue on his lips. The elf was confused for the sudden kiss and looks to Valdemar in question.

"I shouldn't have teased you so much."

"My King doesn't need to apologize to me. Plus it isn't your fault Valdemar, your child just kickes alot..that includes my ribs. I don't know what they're doing in there but they need to stop it." He glared at his stomach only soften and sigh.

Valdemar hums and sat next to Lixue instead. "Are you sure you still want to hold that thing for the orphan children?" Lixue frowned at the question. "Yes. I promised. Especially for Orian. He really wants to come to the castle and learn a few things from Selin."

Valdemar wanted to fight about it. From what he was seeing these passed days, Lixue seemed to be in pain from time to time. Lixue saw his hesitation to speak and his eyes narrowed.

"If you don't lay the egg, don't talk to the hen."

Valdemar rose and eyebrow. "Lay an egg..?"

Lixue narrowed it more. "It's a saying. My sister said it to me once when she was conceiving for her first child." Lixue explained, sitting up more and grabbing a piece of that dragon fruit and adding a strawberry slice.

"I see.."

"Yes and it means for you to not be worried about me. I'm in the castle. I'm not gonna be waving an arrow at the enemies."

Valdemar was now one to frown. "I know..but you look in pain."

"... Valdemar.."

"I'm serious. I hate seeing you in a way that is uncomfortable or painful. Remember last time you didn't tell me what was wrong with you?" Lixue was the one to scowl and cringe at the reminder. "I thought we weren't going to talk about that.."

"And we're not. I'm talking about the present that is now and with my wife's present issue." He rested his hand on the bump.

Lixue kept eating, not even wanting to continue this conversation. He didn't want to be weak. He hated when his father babied him. He knows what his second gene is, he knew his status and where he stood from the rest but even though he showed his father that he can care for his own, he was kept and moved to somewhere else for better "security".

"Treasure look at me."

"..."

"Lixue." Valdemar goes to turn Lixue's chin only for Lixue to shake off his hand and ignore him fully.

Valdemar grumbled in distaste at his attitude but didn't let his anger get the best of him. He knew the problem. Lixue didn't like being babied as said last time. He loved affection, not being treated like a damsel in disress. His wife can care for his own. He will protect their unborn.

Troublesome omega of mines..

Valdemar grabs Lixue's chin and turned it forcefully. Lixue hissed. "Stop touching me. I got what you said."

"Your flaring up again."

"I don't care!-Mph!"

Valdemar brought their lips together, shutting Lixue up from trying to get away from and grabbed his hands so he doesn't push him or scratched him out of retaliation.

Valdemar pulled away, Lixue glared with a pout. "Stupid King."

"Cause I want to protect you?"

Lixue gritted his teeth and looks away. "I'm sleepy. You have somewhere to be and I'll just sit and be bored-"

"My Queen."

"Stop kissing me Valdemar."

Valdemar didn't listen and instead cuddled his beloved, snuggling his face into his neck and scent glands where he kissed.

"I know you don't like my words but listen." He whispered. Lixue flinched at the kissing of his sensitive skin, on the tip of his ear nipped and almost had him capsizing into the trancing feeling; Key word, Almost.

Lixue closed his eyes instead of watching him. "Hurry up."

Valdemar sighs. "This is our first child for us both. I know you are safe, protected and can protect yourself and I'm sorry for rethinking what we discussed."

Lixue swallowed and opened his eyes. "You know I have been waiting to do this for them..they were so eager..I don't want cause I'm in this state, that they can't do as I promised.."

Valdemar saw the hurt in his beloved's eyes. He hated how it looked. Hated how it saddened. The Dragon King isn't one to show emotions but seeing it on Lixue brought him to act, act to bring that smile.

Valdemar hugged, lifting Lixue as if he wasn't weighting more than before and placed him on his lap. He peppered him in butterfly kisses, rubbing his back and caressing his cheek.

"I'm sorry my love.. I hate that look on you."

Lixue leaned on Valdemar's shoulder. "I understand you want me to be safe.. I'm sorry aswell...but please let's not cancel this for them." He pled with his eyes onece again. Valdemar broke with a smile and defeated sigh. "I wasn't gonna cancel it. But I want you safe, both of you." A large palm caressed the large bump. "So don't cause me a heartache and be careful."

Lixue beamed and his tears spilled out. Yes he was emotional right, it wasn't the matter. He probably looked so ugly but Valdemar kept that real and beautiful smile on him throughout his tearful beginning.

"Thank you darling.."

Valdemar kissed him passionately and pressed his forehead to Lixue's.

"Anything for you."

[Next Morning..]

Valdemar had to attend to business outside of the Kingdom for a while, leaving his wife within the castle with servents and guards.

He was still hesitant of leaving his 8 month pregnant wife, omega and Queen alone with him. But he trusted Lixue. He was reassured by his beloved even that he would be fine, their child is fine and he wasn't going to do any vigorous exercises of any kind; Doctors Orders.

So Valdemar left the castle with his counselor Vaayn and goes to the construction site of where the rebuilding of the village last month was being conducted.

Meanwhile, back at the castle, Lixue was patiently waiting for the arrival of the orphan children. Selin stood besides him while he did.

There the gates open and a announcement of the children sounded his ears. Lixue calmly smiled as the awed looks of the young children was seen.

They gleamed and sparkled at the inside of the castle gates. There were guards, a large grassy bed of trees and bushes that were well cut. It didn't have a fountain like some had in those books. It was massive to accommodate a giant Dragon King for instants.

Rou was guiding the children along with Dionne watching over the youngest who were even more eager to get free and look about.

Lixue wanted to greet them directly but he kept at the top of the stairs. For reasons being, he didn't want to be running down the stairs and struggling to get back up without being out of breath.

No thank you.

So he waited and greeted them when they came up to him.

"My Queen." Dionne curtsey low with a kind smile. Lixue tried his best to do the same and replied to her. "Miss Dionne welcome. Children aswell welcome to the Castle."

They cheered with larger smiles.

"Are you ready for this journey and have fun??" He asked them enthusiastically.

"Yes!!"

Lixue chuckled. "Wonderful. But before we leave. I know you have met her before but she will be joining us, especially Lady Rou here." He pointed to Rou who held a little girl. The children looked to her and waved and smile. "Great. Now our other guest, is, Chief Commander of the army, Selin Acoff-Sereno.

Selin flashed her sharp tooth smile to try and seem friendly. It did scare some for the children but the other half was strucken with even more amazement.

Then the ones scared started to whine and whimper, hiding behind Dionne and Rou. Selin sighs but she knew it was a matter of time.

Orian, the boy Lixue saved before went up to Selin. "Your mark..is really cool ma'am Selin." Selin smiled and patted his head. "Thanks kiddo. And just call me Selin makes me sound old when I'm called ma'am or madame." She frowned.

Rou was the one to laugh causing selin to give her a look, then Dionne also chuckled and lastly Lixue.

Selin had a smile back on her face and Lixue clapped his hand to get everyone's attention once again.

"So who's ready?"

"I am!"

"Mee mee!"

"Wanna go!"

"Journey!"

"Adventure!!"

Lixue chuckled. "Commander Selin."

Selin smirked. "Onwards my fellow adventures!"

"Yayyy!!"

[ Meanwhile...]

"We are in positions Lord Baltimore. Should we begin?"

"We saw the Dragon King leave his Kingdom unprotected. Gain the control and capture the omega of the King." Baltimore said.

The one in charge of this storming nods his head and looked to his men.

"Get your spears and swords ready! For this time, humans are going to claim the greatest land among them all!!"

"YEAH!"

No one would have thought that there will be a mob of mad men bursting into the Kingdom in great cry and red rage.

They lifted their weapons and fought with the knights at the front. With the knights busy the rest got through and began their troubles to the people and heading straight for the castle on the mountain.

Some brave men tried to stop them but got themselves injuried only for the soldiers and knights to come running in and fighting them off.

They were overwhelmed but didn't stop them one bit. Only made the soldiers even more angry and stronger.

Human and beasts weren't matched and these idiots were about to meet that.

[ At Castle ]

~~~~~~~

Lixue were with the children in the castle gardens, which his husband gifted to him. Another story, not the point anyways.

The serious issue had arised during a reading with the children. Selin heard the news and replayed it to Lixue secretly.

Lixue was in silence. He looked to Selin and she nods with a confirmation, looking antsy to go out there and help her men and women in battle.

"Is something..w-wrong pretty hero..?" Orian asked. Lixue watched the very attentive boy, so did the other children and puts on a smile to reassure him. "Nothing at all. Rou."

Rou stood and smiled at the orphan children. "Darlings it seems something has came up and Queen Lixue has to deals with it. Speaking of which, how about we play hide and seek inside?"

The children were now excited all except Orain who was skeptical. He glanced to Lixue who was already leaving in a hurry despite the kind of weight and pounds he was carrying.

Dionne looked to Rou and she whispered the matter. Miss Dionne was shocked and feared even for the worst at the news.

Orian knew then something big was going outside.

"King Valdemar!! My King!"

Valdemar looked back to see one of his men coming running to him, breathless and serious.

"What is it?" He asked.

"The Kingdom is under attack. We have the outside cleared but three got away. They are  searching for them as we speak."

Valdemar's eyes widened in horror. He was fucking furious. Just one day he left to do one thing outside of the kingdom and that ass is now causing problems within his Kingdom.

Then it dawned.

It didn't matter what was the matter now. The Dragon King shifted in seconds as the thought of his wife being in danger coursed through his mind.

A black collosal dragon showed itself as a replacement for Valdemar. Massive wings lifted it's body off the floor in thunderous drums and lightning speed straight to his wife and Kingdom.

Lixue stepped out of the doors and saw the chaos. The castle gates were open and the men and women came in dragging the bodies of the injuries tyrants or dead bodies and having them lay there.

He felt sick but he didn't let it get to him.

One of Selin's right hand women came over and bowed low. "The threats has been terminated... unfortunately we lost three of them. Their in the kingdom and we are searching." She reported. Selin tsked and looked to the Queen.

"My Queen, we will take care of this. You must head inside."

"Are you sure? But what about the people, are they ok?"

"A few brave souls tried to stop the barbarians and fortunately they are ok." The right hand women said. Lixue breathed out in relief.

Selin goes to say something till her ear caught something silent. Quiet and moving quiet. Then a shout caught her attention and in the air was a massive sized dragon. It was Valdemar coming his way.

Lixue got relieved and goes down the staircase.

But even though Lixue was happy to see his husband, he was moving to quickly and roaring out loud.

Lixue!

Lixue winced at the bursting voice in his head or wherever.

Then, Valdemar came diving, shifted mid-way and got inform of him before he exclaimed in agony.

Lixue was stilled in his placed as strong arms wrapped round his body. Lixue stared blankly at the sky as if the was dazed himself.

"My King!!"

"King Valdemar!!"

Lixue blinked and gazed at the pained look on Valdemar's face. He smiled at him, looking to be sweating already. Lixue cupped his face.

"Val..? Valdemar what..-"

"Are you ok..?" He asked through heavy breathing. Lixue looked at him more in confusion but answered. "Yes I'm fine. Are you ok?-Valdemar-!"

Valdemar dropped to his knees as Lixue held onto him as best he could. Lixue patted him to check for any wound and sees the arrow peeking at him. Lixue's eyes widened in trepidation.

"Your hurt."

"I'm fine.. Really."

"Valdemar your bleeding to much!-" He began to tremble as he kept holding Valdemar. Valdemar weakly caressed Lixue's face.

"I'll be fine..Just need some rest..plus I could rest knowing your fine.."

"No. No resting. You will be awake to get your help. Selin help me get him inside, now!"

Valdemar grunted, sluggish and dazed more. "How much am I losing..?"

Lixue took his arm. "Enough to have you dazed. Valdemar stay awake you'll be fine. Oh why did you take that arrow you stupid dragon?!"

Valdemar chuckled at the name. "I told you... I'll do... Anything for you...."

"Valdemar..Valdemar?.. Valdemar stay up for me please!"

"Darling please!"
