A King's White Rose
A King's White Rose
Chapter 2: An unwanted feeling
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's only been a day since he arrived at the dockside of Dracon City. His first night was pleasing, him mostly seated at the window seat and gazing off into the distance.
This was something completely different to him. The castle, he's never lived in a castle. The Manor he lived in was comfortable, low, but spacious enough to please his needs.
Now he was in this large room, massive, it's own bath and dressing space where his clothes were placed and stored. This room had a vanity mirror, enough space on that as well.
Just everything seemed so big and I meant everything here was large. But he wanted to see the library, maybe outside of the castle grounds. He just hopes he doesn't bump into that brooding grump smoke that is a King and a Dragon.
The farther he is from him, the best his experience will be. Just keeping distance..
The light tapping at the doors caught his attention. Lixue looks over to it and answered where he sat.
"Yes?"
"Crown prince it is I."
Lixue smiled and walks to the doors. He glanced down at the golden rounded handles and pulled them.
The doors followed on, opening wide enough for him to meet eye to eye with his maiden.
"Rou." He greeted her, his smiling ever so caring towards his trusted maiden. Rou bowed with a smile of her own and walked into the room with a tray, behind her were the servent of the castle.
Rou placed the tray on the table and turns to her prince. "How have you been holding up? Is everything ok?"
Lixue took his seat on the large canopy bed, dressed with thin see through and dyed cloth. He hums with his eyes meeting Rou's.
"It's very large and different but that just makes this even more better. Well..the marriage is a different story but just coming out and experience a new territory is..going well." He said.
Rou came to him and helps him undress and dress. "I'm glad your enjoying being out of the kingdom. I just hope everything goes well. I have to protect you after all."
Lixue laughed. "Yes for my father's sanity sake."
Rou chuckled. "Yes my prince." She takes out the robes he is going to wear and had them placed down by the other maiden waiting.
"Rou..?"
"Yes my prince?"
Lixue fiddled with a curl, bitting his lip as he thought of the words to ask. When it came he stops and spoke. "Do you think I'm allowed to leave the castle grounds..?"
Rou turned to him, placing down the open boxes of head jewelry, flower pins, hanging gems to tie into his hair and ontop of that his new colored veil to go with his outfit.
"I don't have the answer to that my prince. But don't you think it will be better to look about the castle then head straight for the outside?"
Lixue frowned at that. "But..Rou I don't want to do that. I didn't agree to this arrangement to tour about this massive castle. I want to see the outside world, the sun, a place without snow." He said, looking out the closed balcony door but he could still see the peek of the outside. The sun, the trees green and abundant. He's gotten so used to seeing white and only powdered substance, and now he was seeing colors, a lot of them.
And warmth..it warmed his pale skin just the kind of way but being a Frost Elf he couldn't stay to long in the sun.
He looks down to his now dressed body. "I wonder.."
Rou sighs and placed the last finishing touches to his hair, braiding down the middle sum of the hair and placing the hair chain onto his hair.
With those things down it was time to replace the face veil with a new one.
"My prince, I'm sure you will get your answer."
"Have you seen the king?" He asked with some bit of hope that he may get his only wish.
Rou frowned sadly and responsed. "No I haven't unfortunately."
Lixue frowned and sighed in defeat. Guess he was going to sit in the library and read till he gets bored.
"But you could ask Sir Vaayn."
Lixue lifted his head to look at the maiden for the Imperial Kingdom. "Sir Vaayn? Ah, the counselor of the Dragon King. But where can I find him?"
The girl beamed in response. "He's at the kitchen your Majesty. He's getting things prepared for the dinner."
"Dinner?- Tch one at a time. Sir Vaayn is in the kitchen you say.." A smile crept on his lips as he stood up. "Rou we must find him."
"And we shall my prince but before that let me put on your new face veil." She said, placing the omega back on the seat.
"Ah my apologies." He smiled apologetically to her.
Rou just sighs and smiled. But before she did she looks back to the maiden. "Kindly turn away please." The girl blinked.
"Pardon?"
"Close your eyes or look away." She repeated again, staring at her without blinking.
The girl flinched and turned her back away from the two. Rou looks back to Lixue and removed the white veil from his face. After that she placed on another colored veil to go with the entire garments he wore.
"You are finished, my prince."
Lixue smiled from behind it,taking his stand as she stood to the side and let's him passed.
There he was off to find the counselor of the Dragon King.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lixue had to make his way and navigate his way through the castle. He didn't want to ask for directions. Maybe he should have taken Rou's advice in just taking in the layout of the castle.
Lixue sighs mentally to himself and just followed to where the servants were coming from. As he walked they bowed to him, he awkwardly bowed back graciously and paced his way down the hall.
The smell of meats and other foods whiffed to the omega's nose and he instantly drawn towards it. That was the smell and his navigation to where the counselor was.
And he was right. Standing outside the doors with a tall man in chief garments was Vaayn. He slowed his steps and waited in the distance.
He should be asking something but he was having a conversation. He couldn't just bambard the man while he was working. The King wasn't here he can tell so he was in charge.
Lixue just stood and waited. Waited..waited..
"Your Majesty?"
The omega looked to the call of his name, Vaayn now freed and standing alone.
He smiled even though it wasn't caught, but his life cheeks could alert it for others. "Sir Vaayn." He bowed, bending his knees down a bit before straightening up. "Please to see again."
Vaayn smiled and replied kindly. "As well. How was your rest? Was everything to your liking?"
He nods. "It was, thank you for asking." He said shyly.
Vaayn nods his head. "That's wonderful news. Now..is there something of the problem?"
"Uhm..problem? No but I have a request..to ask. It's for the King."
Vaayn's smile dimmed as he groaned softly. "King Valdemar isn't.. available right now. Unfortunately the Dragon King had flown for the highest mountain."
Lixue noised in understanding. "I see."
"You could ask me." He said, giving Lixue that hope he oh so had in his glossy blue eyes.
"Can I?" He asked slowly, rasing an eyebrow. He didn't if he should. "I didn't read about the.. traditions for the Dracon Imperial Kingdom. So please bare with my lack of knowledge."
Vaayn shakes his head. "That is completely fine. Not many do when they first arrive at the city. Plus the most important traditions are for mostly the royal families."
"I see.."
Vaayn nods. "Yes. But I will have something prepared for you to learn that in due time. Now..the request?"
Lixue used his eyes in a way to express his gratitude and spoke. "I wanted to ask if I can leave the catsle grouds. Look about outside or even in the Kingdom itself."
Vaayn held in his breath and only let's it out for a few minutes. Leaving the castle is pretty dangerous and the king will probably have his head if something happened to the last son of the Elvin Emperor. If the King was here he could have answered much faster and easier.
He saw the way how Lixue looked. He was anticipating going outside of a place that wasn't littered in white coats of snow. Or frozen rivers and waterfalls. They were mystical. But now he was somewhere more.. breathtaking and vibrant of various amounts of colors and variations.
Vaayn gave a smile to hide that bit of worry floating within him.
Vaayn turns to a maiden. "Selin, take his Majesty to the garden out back."
A woman, built like one of a bear but her still being female had her toned femininity. Her eyes were hazel brown, her hair a honey color. Her face was firm but her response was soft.
"As you wish." She bowed.
Vaayn gave his attention back to Lixue. "Is that all you wish for?"
Lixue just smiled and nods his head. "Not at all but thank you Vaayn."
The man took a bow and watched as Lixue was escorted off to the gardens, the smile on his face, which he couldn't make out much, was calming. Makes him feel sorry for the omega. He just hopes in the end that Valdemar might change his way and accept this omega.

"Vaayn."
The counselor looks away from his last attention and gave it to the King. He had came back, coming over to him with his normal dull look on his face.
"King Valdemar, I see your back."
"Yes well I was looking for you. Almost thought I had to send Selin and her guards off to find you." Valdemar said, brushing off the greeting to now be standing near to his counselor.
Vaayn gave a small laugh but covers it with a cough. "I wouldn't leave the castle unattended. After all that is my duty and order from you." He said, looking away from him back to what caught his attention previously.
Valdemar threaded his fingers through his hair and grunts. "That's unarguable." He narrowed his eyes about and folded his arms. "Now where is that omega prince? Has he been trouble?"
Vaayn had to laugh but shaked his head as he responded with a calm explanation. "Actually. Quite the opposite. He's been..one eye catch since he's arrived."
Valdemar rose an eyebrow. "Eye-catching? More an eyesore." He mumbled off to the side. But when he noticed Vaayn didn't respond to him or agreed he asked again..
"What's got him so eye catching since I was gone?"
"Which part? The part where you stormed off and flew for the highest hill? Or when you made excuses about not being near him for..past reasons?" Vaayn rose his own eyebrow, side eyeing the King with a knowing side grin.
Valdemar scowled at that look and the facts he was spewing. "Your walking on a thin line, Vaayn." He bellowed warningly.
Vaayn payed no mind. He was used to his ways. If he really wanted to make this argument unwinnable he would have suppressed him with his aura and pheromones. But that would have put him in a coma most likely.
"My King, you know I mean no harm towards you and your personal reasons. It's just..your not trying to see him. I get the past wasn't..your finest but trust me..He is completely different from what I've seen so far."
Valdemar watched as his old friend looks out the window of the upper tower of the castle. Valdemar's lidded eyes took a look himself.
There in the gardens was..that omega. He was walking about the garden, talking with a woman who dressed in more of what elves wore. They walked besides one another, that omega pointing to his gazebo across the wooden pond bridge.
For some reason he wanted..to go down there. Be there..
And that was ridiculous! He wanted absolutely nothing to do with an omega or a mate or a wife or an anyone! Why did he feel so..annoyed that, that omega was walking about the gardens without a care.
"Doesn't he wish to see me at all?.." Valdemar found himself asking. He had no lid on his lips, something subconscious that should be mentally asked. Now it was out for his counselor to look at him oddly.
Valdemar cleared his throat after he stiffened. "He's an omega so wouldn't it be logical he'll want to be near an alpha?" He "cleared" up.
Vaayn didn't respond to him for long minutes, only till a lift of a smile on his face came on making Valdemar want to scowl deeper for his slip of the tongue.
"Lucky for you my King, he wishes to be alone. He said he won't cause you any problems or be near to you if you don't want anyone near you. He even admitted to liking his own silence and loneliness aswell."
Valdemar blinked his eyes. He blinked again. Then blinked again when he looks back down at that omega currently given a rose from a guard.
Something in him squeeze. He didn't even register when his lip curled back from his teeth to show the white rippers.
But before he even did anything stupid, Vaayn broke him out of his mind.
"He wants to explore the kingdom. Outside of the castle.."
Valdemar lifted his eyes, eyes still piercing down to that omega. "Let him do what he wishes."
"Are you sure?.."
"Do what you wish if you so want to protect him. But don't get your hopes up, Vaayn. He'll be home by the end of these few months.." He said coldly, his eyes holding no emotions as he said this.
Vaayn gave a flat look. He really want going to deny this omega till the very end, and even send him back sooner or later. This was saddened to watch. His hopes were more lingering on Valdemar that he'll try to accept him.
But yet he refused to even hold conversations with that elf. Unfortunately, fighting with the Dragon King was futile and bring nothing for his side.
So Vaayn just sighs..
"Of course my King.."
Valdemar gave one more look down to that omega...but something unexpected happened. The omega, Lixue, looks up and their eyes met.
Something him felt a bit of a chill. But just like yesterday when he first arrived, it had it's own way of warmth. Calming, irritatingly head spinning.
What was this and why was he reacting this? This was something completely different..He narrowed his down to him and then that omega flashed a smile at him. A smile at him.
Valdemar was caught of guard and it bothered him. He backed a bit and scowled. No, he isn't going to let this omega get to him. Not now.
Not ever.
