A King's White Rose
A King's White Rose
Chapter 3: First Dinner
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lixue watched as the Dragon King turned off as usual, giving a look that wasn't very much friendly.
He kept his eyes there for the few seconds before he looked away completely and enjoyed the rest of the garden.
Rou, bless her eyes and heart, saw the exchange and piped in next to him.
"Is everything ok?" She whispered to her prince.
Lixue gave her a small smile and nods his head. "Everything is fine. Don't worry about it."
Rou narrowed her eyes but released the questions she wanted to ask. Her eyes looked up to where the prince looked, the sight of the counselor standing there and watching down at them. He even wanted to say something, but it seemed to not have gone good on his side.
"Rou?"
"I'm coming my prince." She followed besides him, pulling out an umbrella to shade him from the sun. They kept at this walking pace, inspecting all that was awe so beautiful to the eyes of the omega.
This arrangement marriage thing wasn't all that good at the very moment. With the King practically running from Lixue and Lixue, being who he is, not giving a look of care.
He respected his boundaries but then doesn't want to associate to such a stubborn mule that is the Dragon King.
She sighs. This was going to take some time..for both parties..
The morning sun lowered it's brightness and direction before the castle. The sky bursted with color of purple and pink, a mix of a honey yellow texture.
It was majesty and eye capturing to all but also the sign for a unsuspecting activity the counselor was putting up.
So he called Rou, the head maiden always accompanying the omega elf prince, and asked her to get his highness dressed for it.
His task is to now convince Valdemar to agree willingly to his proposal of a dinner. They had enough trying to not bump into each other. They can't be strangers in this castle forever and Valdemar can't keep running from Lixue either.
So Vaayn knocks the door of Valdemar's chambers, the knock loud enough for the king to hear but soft for the hall to not echo out to far.
There were a few moments of silence before the door groaned opened. There standing before him, tall, built, fixed with brood strength and might, was King Valdemar.
He dressed himself in one of his silk robes, lazily tied to his barely covered body beneath the robe.
Valdemar looked into the eyes of his counselor and rose and eyebrow. "Something you want?" He asked, his voice deeper than normal and showing he was possibly sleeping.
Vaayn sighed mentally. Calm Valdemar was about to go flying out the window....
The sacrifices I go through..
Vaayn looks seriously up at the King and replied. "Yes. I need you dressed."
Valdemar froze where he stood. He was confused and it showed when he didn't even move. "For what?" His lower tone bubbled when asked.
"A dinner. So you, My King must dress yourself." He said again, looking directly into Valdemar's eyes without blinking or fear.
"What dinner? And why am I now being told of a dinner? Who is coming?"
"Your soon to be wife will be joining you in this dinner."
Valdemar stilled again at that. Lixue was joining him in this dinner. That brought an annoyed puff of carbon dioxide from Valdemar.
"Then no. He can eat alone."
"Unfortunately that is not going to work. You will be joining. And as your old friend and counselor I want you to go."
Valdemar scoffs. "I said I didn't need to know him. Is that being ignored?!" Valdemar's voice boomed as far as the hall went. He was outraged that his wishes to be left alone are being straight up ignored!
Vaayn elevated an arm. "No. You have freedom and wish to do as you please. But you can't have a guest and you refuse to talk with him. Pretend he isn't an omega if you so desire. How about that?"
Valdemar knew that won't work and he said it.
"He has pheromones you thorn to my side." He sneered in dissatisfaction.
"This omega is obviously different. Just try to have a conversation with him." Vaayn persisted again.
Valdemar and Vaayn exchanged a look with each other with that being said.
"Please.."
Valdemar frowned more. The Dragon King let's go a frustrated sigh. He just wanted the answer to his question. Why was everyone so passionate about him sucking faces with a damned omega?!
Valdemar was quiet, still going on and on about this dinner in his mind. But he looked to his counselor and saw the look in his eyes. Some might not have seen it but he knew that look. It was a pled.
"Fine." He agreed with a huff. He wanted to walk out of here and go to his safe space away from everyone all together. But, again, he couldn't. Not right now though.
And that brings us to the dinner itself..
The darkness had peeked from behind the mountain range, enlarging it's exquisite light all over the kingdom. It was a sight to see it's colossal size, the people either outside and pointing at the moon in a daze and awe like behavior.
They were enjoying their night with games, food, beer, entertainment and pleasure. That was the people's enjoyment below.
But in the castle, it was..well..a completely different story.
The Lixue sat across from the Dragon King, Valdemar sat across from the Elf Prince. These two were silent, the dining room as quiet and uncomfortable as this dinner dragged on excruciatingly.
The clattering of forks and chiming of spoons on the plates was even more ear ringing. Lixue wanted to leave this room, so badly. He even dressed in Something different this time. Nothing dragging or long.
He was grateful for that part but then it was the creature that sat right across from him. He glanced to him quickly, pretending to sip up some soup and averted his eyes after.
Valdemar was no different. He could see this omega across from him. He took a munch of his meat, looking to Lixue before looking off into the distance.
He hated every part of this. Why did he agree to this?? Yet..he was silently examining the omega. His elegant ways, especially the way how he maneuver that spoon under that annoying veil.
Then he spots Vaayn, giving him a look.
'Speak to him.' That expression spoke.
Valdemar arched a lip to show his canine but tsked and downs his wine. He sighs, tapped the table, observing that omega again, then he spoke.
"How is your stay at the castle?" He asked, unsure what to ask the omega or start a conversation.
Lixue didn't reply, his eyes looking up to Valdemar like he didn't expect him to talk to him.
Trust me I'm here against my will.
The Dragon King just kept looking at him for an answer. He tapped the table again. "Going to answer? Or stare?"
Lixue blinked his eyes, Valdemar almost getting taken in from that look, those eyes and grown eyelashes that just sets him off from the rest of omegas he unfortunately encountered.
"Ah, well.. it's very large. Very awe praising." He admitted. "It's been quiet and pleasent thus far."
Valdemar swallowed a gulp of wine again, looking Lixue up and down.
"Don't you live in castle?"
"I..I did. Not anymore."
Valdemar stops drinking his wine for a second and looks to Lixue. "Not anymore?" He repeated slowly. "Then where do you live then?"
Lixue was now one to drink his own wine, swirling around the cup in his hand and taking more than one sip.
"I live in a Manor." He softly replied, not looking the king in the eyes. "But I wasn't kicked out.. It's just I was moved out." He takes another gulp of wine.
Valdemar didn't know how to act. He sat here with an omega that moved out from the safety of his castle to live alone in a Manor? What ludicrousness was he hearing?
"Your an omega. You shouldn't be out of the castle let alone by yourself. Plus your a prince."
Lixue stopped drinking his wine and slowly looks to Valdemar with a furrowed look. "Can you clarify what you mean?"
Valdemar placed his cup down. "Your an omega prince. An Elf and a prince of one of the great Kings and Emperors order. You shouldn't be moved out."
"Are you trying to say that I'm some damsel in distress because I'm an omega?"
Valdemar sips his wine. "You seem to understand."
Lixue sets his utensils down, his eyes burning with irritation. No more averting eyes with this king. His eyes met deep red ones. So capturing yet.. infuriating.
"With all due respect, I don't understand anything you just said. Please repeat what you said." He asked again, his voice lurking with anger.
Valdemar however didn't reply. He doesn't like to repeat himself either. But he did notice the look on Lixue's face. It changed drastically.
"I think you heard my words."
Lixue clenched the fork tightly. Valdemar could see a change to the surface of the fork but he didn't quite see it much.
His eyes was taken when Lixue tsked a laugh.
"Do you think every omega that throws themselves at you are needy, damsel material or needs to be protected?"
"That is your nature."
Lixue gritted his teeth behind his vail but kept it down. He sighs a calming breath. "I apologize that those omegas had you thinking all omegas are the same. But I know for one, all alphas are the same. How about that?"
Valdemar was now the one to get irritated. "I am not like those vile creatures that yearn to be top. To be above."
"Doesn't sound nice now does it?" Lixue mumbled, eyeing him coldly.
"Excuse me?"
Lixue stood up from his seat. "I'm finished eating."
Valdemar slammed his hands on the table and stood up. "Where are you going?"
"Away from you. I know how much your precious silence is to you. Don't let my needy ways bother your night further."
His tone was not friendly at all. He gave a short bo and left the diner room, not evern looking back once.
Now it was just Valdemar in that room, alone..silent.. questioning and another feeling he didn't want to dig up.
He was pissed. Pissed he was spoken like that, pissed that Lixue was pissed at him for something he's seen far to often.
He hasn't seen what he's seen!
Just how dare him! Walking out on him for just stating a truth!
Or was it the truth..
Valdemar breathed heavily, his eyes lidded when his inner thoughts spoke to him. Why was he so infuriated with the very idea of an omega not being like what he thought or seen..?
Valdemar sat down with a huff, a throbbing headache making his neck swell with it's own pain. His veins pulsing and making him growl.
He looks to Vaayn, the look of disappointment. He didn't say anything wrong! Why was he even getting on so furious about it?
It's only their nature. Or..was it for all?..
He shakes his head and ordered for another bottle of wine, pulling the cap off and downing half the bottle in one gulp.
He can't be feeling sorry for what he said. Or rethinking. He was right. He saw it with his own eyes what omegas are like. It's not his fault for thinking that!
'But I know for one, all alphas are the same. How about that?'
Valdemar growled and sank down another bottle of wine down his throat.
Fuck all of this! Fuck it all!
