Chapter 6: Rescue

Lixue was truly something towards Valdemar. And it showed. He would glance to Lixue whenever they had a dinner or breakfast together.

This time he didn't feel like..well.. letting him go. Yet that is. Lixue just was someone entirely different. It's both his attitude and the way he is that perked the Dragon King's mind. He completely turned his assumption of what an omega is.

Valdemar couldn't keep his mind on work so much after that kiss either. Lixue really kissed him and he wanted more. The Dragon King stood to his balcony and placed his index finger to his lips.

I can't be addicted now.. right?

Valdemar hadn't had much time to think about his answer to his own question. The exact addiction he's been taunted to kiss again coming into his study room.

Valdemar removed his finger from his lip and turned. "Come in Lixue." He said, gesturing for the omega male to come into his office fully.

Lixue came into the room and smiled. That vail igniting his irritation once again. "I apologize for the sudden entry." He said, stopping a few feet from the table and Valdemar. Valdemar dismissed the apologies and looked him in the eyes. "Something you want?" He asked carefully.

Lixue fiddled with his waist jewelry and nods. "Yes.. It's a small request."

Valdemar arched one eyebrow. "One? You've making alot of requests lately." He joked, standing straight and folding his arms over his large chest.

Lixue felt very offended by that accusation and defended himself. "I did no such thing. I was asked for my opinion and so I gave it."

Valdemar verbrated in laughter, finding his facial expression intriguing and adorable. His eyes opened and he met Lixue's slightly widened ones. He wasn't moving, wasn't saying anything more, just staring up at him..

"What?" Valdemar's smile disappeared and his brows creased.

Lixue was now one to let out a lulling giggle. Valdemar relaxed and shakes his head. "Your not going to tell me anyways, now that request?"

Lixue calmed his laughing and looked back to the King. "Yes, well I wanted to ask..if I can be allowed to leave the castle grounds. To visit the rest of your Kingdom."

Valdemar silenced at the request and watched at Lixue who gave him that look of plead. He didn't think Lixue was doing it with thought but it was working.

"Alone?" He enquired, volume like a deep base drum.

Lixue spoke quickly. "No I was going with Rou, my maiden. But if you want to send someone with us as well that will be fine..as well."

Valdemar tapped his finger on his dark oak desk and thought for a while. He could let him be free outside of his castle walls. The people was yet to meet Lixue anyways. But he'd rather be with Lixue than have him deal with those people. They are queen starved as Vaayn said.. it's a problem.

Valdemar raised his finger to Lixue for his patients and looked to his side. There a rounded circle of fire and ashes appeared next to him.

The face of his head guard came into the view. "Selin."

"My King, how may I assist you?"

Valdemar glanced again to a awe strucken Lixue at his floating vortex of communication. His lip almost formed a smile but he threw that thought out and answered.

"The elf prince wants to go visit the village and it's residents. Will you accompany him and his maiden?"

"Anything for you my King. I will ensure his safety is at full during this trip."

"Very good he'll be on his way soon." She saluted and Valdemar wiped away the ring of fire into nothing. Lixue blinked and looked back to Valdemar who was just sitting there with his palm resting on his face.

"I know." He said jokingly at his facial expressions again. "Now you should met with Selin and her men. They'll protect you and your maiden."

Lixue was excited and he takes his bow quickly. "Thank-thank you.."

Valdemar takes in how he practically ran for the doors out of excitement. Now it had him thinking if he's even been outside. This excitement was to raw..

Lixue stepped out of the large carriage. Rou was right there to help him out of it and take a careful step on the gravel surface.

The Elf prince's pointed ears twitched with every little sound made. The village was just passed the gravel road, houses tall and placed with cobble stone walls and decored with their own vines and mosses.

He looked about, fixing his coat on him by Rou and looked about the scenery in a daze. This was outside, this was what the outside of protective walls are like.

"How beautiful.." He whispered with a smile.

"This is what you've missed for most of your life my prince. But.. beware. The outside world can still be cruel."

Lixue sighs and nods. "Yes I was told by my father. I just wish he'd at least let me out of the castle for only a few more seconds or a minute. I just..this is just so beautiful."

Rou smiled, more genuine towards the prince. He's still so much like a child despite his age. All those years he's been cooped up in a Manor playing games or practicing a bit of swords or his talent. But this..this was something he's always wanted and here he was.

Lixue dusted his garments:

And proceed his way. Selin and her hand picked few all made a circle. They were on each part of Lixue, watching like hawks.

Lixue stood right in the middle, speaking with Rou while Selin, the head guard escorted.

The people of Dracon Kingdom saw this person walking, and they whispered amongst themselves about this person. After all these are the King's Royal soldiers. A ruthless bunch.

In the war between a cocky king and his men, the general and her men decimated the lives of all that crossed their paths without a second thought.

The king was left alone after the one sided massacre. The cocky bastard, Moore was his name, was a fat glutton abuser. His time of reign all came to a holting end when he decided that fighting the most powerful of the 5 Kings/Emperor and queens were smart.

King Valdemar wasn't a Dragon for style. He is the Dragon King. Prophecy had it in their scrolls when that king was born. Raised to rule the world for eternity.

Now back to tha soldiers, they were guarding someone just between them. They didn't mess around with him either.

Some tried to get a glance, twisting their heads to catch that glimpse of this person. Some only saw a face veiled, white hair and quieten crystal transparent blue eyes. Such a beautiful with those eyes.

Just who was this person?

Lixue walked about the village, seeing so much and witness a crowd starting to form.

"Your getting popular my prince."

Lixue chuckled at the saying. "I guess so.."

Rou chuckled and picked a fruit. Exotic fruit at that with a purple color to it's skin. "Would you try these?"

"What are they?"

The owner of the shop answered the question instantly. "They are southern dragon fruit. Their very rare to the other dragons fruit. Please have a try." He gestured to the fruit.

Lixue looked at it and Selin hold whatever was going to happen. "Hold it. Your Majesty please let me cut it for you."

Lixue looked to the fruit and back to Selin who have him a small smile on that hard face. Lixue gave it to her. Selin takes out a small knife and sliced the fruit effortlessly.

"Here." And Lixue took it. He brought it to his lips after he smelled it. There he takes the first bite could have melted. His eyes fluttered close and he chewed it to savor that taste.

"This is delicious."

The owner blushed at his praise, trying to seem inconspicuous with his tilting just to see his other half of his face under that half lifted veil. The owner heard a growl and Lixue looks to Selin.

The owner flinched at the werebeast growl and stopped trying to see under that veil. He held up more baskets of the fruit. "Please take as much as you want. And since your new to the kingdom, a discount?"

Rou nods and starts to take out her pouch. "Yes thank you very much."

"No worries madame."

After that they were walking again, the owner bathing in his coins. Lixue enjoyed the other piece of that fruit till they ran into children.

Lixue stopped the procession from advancing further. His eyes going to the children. One boy pulled the other young child, a fat grin on his face. That was a face filled with mischief. The other boy was small, frail and look like just with a small amount of wind can blow his body into the air.

The boy looked terrified as he was pulled into the alley, away from the eyes. Their eyes met the two he had before he was yanked into the alley.

Rou went to his side. "My prince is everything ok?"

"Rou, stay here I'll be right back."

"My prince!-"

Lixue stormed out of the circle, Selin going to stop him till Rou held her arm and shakes her head. Selin backed down and watched on as Lixue went into an alleyway.  People began to peep in and Selin went in and blocked the entrance.

"Back it up please. Nothing to see here get back to your daily routine!" Seline lent in to Rou's ear.

"Do you know why he left in such a hurry?"

"No but it has to be something worrisome. But prince Lixue will deal with the issue." She reassured with a smile. Selin nods her head.

Lixue walked down the narrowed alley, moss growing here more than the other places he's seen.

He kept his ears sharp for any cries or yells and that was successful at the end. Grunting and shouting of pleads had him hussling down the alleyway.

As he reached the end, in an open space stood a few older boys standing tall and dominating. They are just beta boys yet were holding authority to another beta.

It was the little boy he saw. He was on the floor, crying and begging for them to let him go and that it was all he has left.

The young boy who grabbed the other was standing there laughing...

Lixue was the one to speak out now.

"Hey! What are you doing to him?" He pointed to the little boy. The group of boys flinched at his presence and frowned at the sight of him.

"We were just playing. Right?" The one who he can suspect as the leader said, grabbing the boy to stand and wrapping his arm round his shoulder.

The little boy shaked in fear, looking up at Lixue and looking to dejected. He probably thought he was going to just back off and say ok. Well he was wrong.

"Those tears look rather real and I am not stupid."

The boy tsked and rolled his eyes. "Who are you anyways? We haven't seen you before."

"I am someone that you should worry about. Now let go of the boy." He ordered again, his voice chilling and devoid of emotion and softness. The boy gritted and shoved the other to stumble and fall on the concrete ground.

"Ah-.." He sniffled and wiped his eyes. Lixue goes to him and knelt down. "Are you ok little one?" The boy looked to Lixue and nods his head. "I'm sorry for causing trouble."

"Ah dear you didn't cause any problems. How about we get you out of here and fed something, hm?"

His eyes brightened at that. "Really..?"

Lixue nods his head and smiled. "Yes."

The boy beamed and took the hand offered for him. Then those boys spoke again.

"Hey, you look rather rich and new." He smirked. Lixue looked to him then saw men now coming out. Ok..things are going south now.

Lixue guided the small boy behind him. "I don't want to harm anyone. Please just go home with your tails high."

The man stood beside the leader boy and scoffed at him. "Your an omega. Omegas are known for being wusses. What you gonna do? Use your call to attract help?" He laughed.

"No but I have a question?"

"What?"

Lixue saw the other men who was with the guy start to walk different directions to corner him and hold him down. He saw them but didn't move. He pulled the boy closer behind him and asked the pending question.

"Have you ever been to the Artic Kingdom before?"

"What fuck can of question is that? Do I look like I want to be in that icy place?"

"No. So why don't I show you?" He smiled.

"And how exactly are you going-"

All of sudden the guy's attention was taken when a white patch kissed the floor in front of him. Seeping out of the cobblestone ground was a stem like vine.

It grew and grew and it's color was as translucent ice, cold whiffs of smoke coming off the stem. The adult beta looked at his other friends and they to stopped before they can advance towards Lixue.

Then it that stem bloomed into a rose. The rose petals were of ice that glistened in the sun other than melt. It was beautiful. Like jewel before their very eyes.

The center of it held a diamond like gem and that caught his eyes more.

He then looked to Lixue who was petting the victim boy's head and whispering something into those big rounded eyes that sparkled with awe.

He too couldn't explain this feeling but it was like nothing he's seen before. Then the flower pounced and shot up. It collided with the bully's nose.

"ARGH!"

"Big brother! You- You, what did you do my brother!"

The two other men with the adult beta looked at Lixue with dangerous intent to cause him harm for what he did.

"Your gonna pay!"

"Yeah!"

They yelled out in pain next, getting the exact same fate as their leader. One fell back and hit the ground while the other held his nose and cried out.

The man removed his hand from his noise and growled. He roared out and there before Lixue was a large werewolf. He stood about 6 feet and 8 inches tall and bared his teeth that dropped drool.

Lixue stood his ground when the two other guys did the exact same thing. They were small and that was because they aren't alphas. They were a pack and living in a dragon's domain.

How interesting...

The three wolves growled and snarled furiously, scratching their claws onto the floors in a way to scare the omega into submission. But Lixue, as cheesy as I'm going to make it sound, isn't like other omegas. Not entirely.

The boy he was protecting cowered behind him in fear and Lixue knew that he couldn't leave him to deal with these mutts. Just what and how is he going to do this with the little boy?

That beta adult little brother will only run after the boy and this cycle will continue under his nose. He isn't about to let that happen.

So Lixue just had to shield himself and the boy till the fools calm down and give up-

That was the plan, still in process before it was put in action. The three mutts raced their large bodies and charged at Lixue.

But they didn't collide, they didn't come anywhere close. All of a sudden there was a loud whine. More whining and-

"Valdemar?"

King Valdemar was here and holding the leader by his throat, tight on his windpipe and squeezing. The werewolf cried and tried to get free. It was futile.

Valdemar calmly looked to Lixue, the change from deep red and slitted became unslitted in seconds when he saw Lixue.

"Are you ok?" He asked, his tone lukewarm yet held the heat of rage.

Lixue nods his head. "I'm fine. But it's not me I was worried about." Lixue petted the boy's head who hid his face in his coat.

Valdemar gazed down and hums. There he turns his head and faced the fluffy grey fur and fear blown eyes of the werewolf.

"I remember there being a rule about no violence. What exactly are you three going on about at the very hour?"

The wolf quivered to the point he...peed himself?

Lixue lifted his hand just to not laugh but the fact that a grown man pissed himself right in front of the Dragon King was something hilarious.

Valdemar scowled at the sight in disgust. At this point talking to him wasn't needed.

He looked at the other two who backed up, tails behind their behinds and adverting eyes with his own said everything.

"Now be good dogs and go back home." He dropped the werewolf. "In human form."

The three shifted back into their human bodies, nudded and no spare clothes in sight and sprinted off. They didn't even look back, just kept running with their ears down.

Valdemar wiped his hand on his pants and turned fully to Lixue. Lixue attended to the boy and whispered to him. The boy smiled before looking up to him.

"How did you even end up in this mess?" Valdemar asked the omega. Lixue stood. "I wasn't trying to. But this little one needed my help."

"I see." He glanced back to the boy. He hides slightly behind Lixue again, uneasy written on his face. Valdemar knelt on one knee and held his hand out. "Come here you small one."

The boy watched the hand of the King and up at Lixue. Lixue nods his head and gestured him towards Valdemar.

The boy watched Valdemar and came out of his hiding spot, fiddling with the string of his top. The boy bowed before Valdemar but Valdemar chuckled and placed his large hand on the boy's head.

"You did well in standing up for yourself. Brave even to stay. Were you afraid?"

The boy nods. "Was..afraid in.. leaving pretty hero..alone."

Lixue became bashful at that and chuckled.

Valdemar wiped dirt from the boy's cheek with his thumb. "Well how about that. You did very well. Just what a knight is."

"Knight?" His eyes beamed. "Like.. royal guards?? Or..Want to be brave and..protect pretty hero and Kingdom!"

Valdemar nods his head. "But let's slow down now. You have enough time to became a knight or guard or warrior or anything, ok?"

The boy nods his head. Lixue knelt down. "Now what is your name?"

"Orian, Orian Riu."

"Beautiful name." Lixue smiled and patted his cheek. "Thank you pretty hero." The boy smiled bigger.

Lixue stood. "Are you hungry?"

He nods his head. "Mean took coins.." he pouted at the memory. Lixue wanted to give him a hug and so he did. He brought the boy close and hugged him tightly. They pulled away and Lixue cupped his face.

"We'll repay all that was taken. Those bullies won't bother you again. Ok?"

The boy sniffled and nods again. "Okay.."

"Great. Now let's get you something to eat."

"Food food."

Valdemar watched this all go down, the two smiling with each other and even when the boy took Lixue's hand they smiled.

Valdemar felt his heart swell and race. Even faster his heart beated when Lixue turned to him and called for him, asking him if he was joining them.

Valdemar agreed he was, not wanting to leave him alone. But yet..it made him want to show some kind of emotions back to Lixue. Or praise him for handling them out there.

Maybe..just maybe..he was starting to find himself.. attracted to this omega.

What are the odds of actually..trying out this..love thing..It shouldn't be so bad, especially if it was Lixue by his side, right?
