Chapter 174
Rebirth of the Wife in Despair
Chapter 174 Eric Has Fallen For Eileen
Upon seeing Ericâs silence, Elsie was on the verge of a breakdown.
Hasnât he taken enough lives already? Donât you also wish for his death? Why are you hesitating? Is it
because of Eileen?â
Elsie gave a desolate smile. âAh, I knew it Eric, youâve developed feelings for Eileen!â
Ericâs eyes turned cold. âI wonât let your affairs disrupt my plans. Itâs not just about the Swan family
anymore. If you want Will dead, heal your wounds first before coming to talk to me!â
He turned around and stormed out, slamming the door behind him.
Eric returned to his adjacent room. At the door, he became alert, noticing a faint noise coming from
inside.
He pushed the door handle and walked in. The sound was coming from the bathroom.
His eyes narrowed as a dangerous glint flashed across them.
In just a few minutes, the sound of the shower ceased, and the bathroom door swung open. Vera
emerged, wrapped in a Blake towel, her long hair cascading over her shoulders. Fresh from her bath,
her skin was flushed, while her eyes sparkled dreamily. She looked irresistibly alluring, like a fawn
stepping out of the forest.
âWhat are you doing here?â
Vera covered her chest with both hands, fear and shyness evident in her eyes. âIâm sorry, Eric. I
thought you were still downstairs. The water heater in my room is broken, so I thought I could shower in
your bathroom.â
âGo back and rest after youâre done,â Eric said as he turned to leave. Just as his hand touched the
doorknob, Vera rushed over and hugged his waist from behind. âEric, donât go!â
âIâve already gone this far, canât you tell?â Vera had set aside her sense of propriety and decency to
come to a manâs room, actively seeking intimacy. âEric, I like you. Iâve liked you since we were children.
You once said that you would always be with me. You wanted to wait until I went to college to give me
your answer, but I canât wait any longer. Iâm afraid that if I do, you might change your mind and fall for
someone else. I beg you, please make me yours, will you? Only then will I truly feel that I belong to
you.â
Ericâs voice was icy. âSo now, apart from getting into a manâs bed, is there nothing else you can do?
Vera⦠youâre still a student. What you should be doing is studying, not engaging in such shameless
acts. But Eileen did the same thing to you, didnât she? You could accept her! Why canât you accept me?
Eric-â
Enough! Erie cut her off fiercely. Over the years, Eric had always indulged her, never losing his temper,
but today was the first time he did so.
âIâm just scared of losing you. Whatâs wrong with that?â
Eric turned around. âLet go!â
âI wonât let go.â Vera held him even tighter. âIf I let go, you wonât want me anymore! When you went to
see Yvette today, do you know how scared I was? I was afraid⦠afraid that you would really be with
her, and that you would marry her in the future. Eric, I donât want you to be with her!â
Eric didnât know what to do with her, fearing that his words might be too harsh and hurt her.
âIâm sorry.â
âEricâ¦â No sooner had she spoken than Ericâs hand fell swiftly, landing a palm strike directly on the
back of her neck. Vera was knocked unconscious instantly.
Eric scooped her up around the waist and carried her out of the room. Suddenly, there was the sound
of hurried footsteps from upstairs, rapidly descending.
Eileen, leaning on the stair railing, hurried downstairs. On the third floor, she awkwardly ran into Eric,
who was holding Vera, clad only in a loosely draped bath towel. It was a sight that could be easily
misunderstood.
She held her breath, hastily averting her eyes, pretending she hadnât seen anything. At the same time,
she felt a sharp pain in her stomach. Without a second thought, she ran down the
stairs.
Eileen had already made seven or eight trips to the bathroom upstairs.
No wonder Father doesnât allow me to eat street food here⦠This pain is unbearable!
After Eric carried Vera downstairs, he saw someone bending over and rummaging for something under
the TV cabinet.
âWhat are you looking for?â
âMedicine!â
There were always spare medicines at home, put there by Sharon. Eileen finally found the one for
stomachaches.
After glancing at the instructions, she swallowed two pills straight away before going to the kitchen to
pour a glass of water and wash them down.
Eileen casually pinned up her hair with a hair clip. The loose strands falling by her ears gave off a
carefree and languid vibe. She was dressed in a Blake cashmere nightgown, and the attached hood
had two long rabbit ears hanging off it.
Eric looked at her with a deep and mysterious gaze. His eyes were like bottomless black holes, inaking
it impossible to decipher what he was thinking.
Eileen drank quite a bit of water, set down her cup, and prepared to return to her room.
As soon as she turned around, she noticed him looking at her.
Eileen felt a little fearful, afraid that he might lose control again and do those things to her.
Eric looked at Eileen, the voice in his mind reminding him.
Thatâs exactly how Will treated Xena back then! Heâs nothing but a beast! Hasnât he taken enough lives
already? Donât you also wish for his death? Why are you hesitating? Is it because of Eileen? Ah, I knew
it! Eric, youâve fallen for Eileen!
Fallen for her? She will never be more than a dispensable pawn.
As Eileen swallowed nervously, she quickly ran past him, only for her wrist to be suddenly seized by his
grasp.
The way he was looking at her then was completely off.
Usually, Ericâs gaze held desire, anger, and the wicked intentions he hid deep within his heart.
Whenever he wanted to do something to her, Eric would never bother to hide it.
However, the way he looked at her then unsettled her.
âWhatâ¦what are you doing?â
Suddenly, Eric grabbed her hand and pulled her directly into the first-floor bathroom.
Eileen dared not call for help loudly, for if her father found out, she would be in trouble.
With a swift motion, Eileen was flipped over and pressed against the wall.
âEric, stop fooling around. I have a stomachache!â
If he doesnât mind, Iâll relieve myself on him.
Of course, she simply couldnât bring herself to say something vulgar.
Before Eric could react, Eileen suddenly clutched her stomach.
This actions came to a halt.
Eileenâs face was somewhat pale. âYou need to leave quickly. I need to use the restroom!
Sheâs afraid of having an accident at any moment.
Eric frowned, a hint of disdain flickering in his eyes.
âPlease step outside for now. We can talk after Iâm finished.â Eileen gently pushed Eric out of
the door.
The door slammed shut shortly after.
Eileen emerged half an hour later.
However, it was Sharon who was waiting by the door.
âYou poor thing. You had a stomachache when I wasnât here. Isnât Mr. Snow keeping an eye on you?
Why didnât you ask him to find you some medicine? The medicine in the drawer has already expired.
You should have checked it first!â
Sharon helped the weakened Eileen to the couch, pouring her a glass of plain water.
Eileen clutched her stomach, curling up on the sofa. âI didnât know. It hurts⦠Sharon!â
âJust endure it a little longer. Mr. Snow has gone upstairs to get the car keys. He will take to the
hospital soon.â
