Chapter 180
Rebirth of the Wife in Despair
Chapter 180 Are You Not Going To Ask What Happened?
A group this way.
of boys, who had just finished playing basketball outside, happened to be walking
Elm, wearing a black headband and holding a basketball, was chatting with a few buddies who were
trailing alongside him. His hair was still damp with sweat.
The people standing in front of the bulletin board all knew the drama that was about to unfold. Elm
threw the basketball he was holding, and Albert caught it steadily.
Watching Elm decisively leave his friend behind and walk toward her, he muttered, âWhatâs so great
about Eileen? He doesnât even go to the bar anymore, and heâs even given up gaming. Heâs been like
a completely different person since last semester. Iâm starting to wonder if Elm has been possessed!â
Charlie adjusted the glasses perched on his nose, smiling quietly without a word.
Heâs merely keeping pace with her. How can Elm dare not to work hard when the person he likes is so
outstanding? If Eileen is a ray of light, then Elm is the one who follows the light.
âDid
side.
you come over because you were worried, Ms. Eileen?â Elm asked as he walked up to her
âI just came to check my own results. You did well on the test, keep up the good work.â Having left a
word of praise, Eileen prepared to leave.
âYouâre just going to walk away like that? Donât I get a reward?â Elm asked.
âFrom now on, there will be morning study sessions every day as a reward. Anyway, Iâm off to class
now!â Eileen said as she turned around and left.
My goodnessâ¦
The afternoonâs exercise class was cancelled, and the entire class began to undergo a significant shift.
Suddenly, Elm moved from the classroom on the first floor to the one next to Eileenâs class.
Eileen, who was originally engrossed in solving problems, saw a slender, attractive hand with a tattoo
tapping on her desk. âShall we go for a meal, Ms. Eileen?â
âNo need, you go ahead and eat. I bought some pasta from downstairs, so Iâll just have some of that. I
still have a few questions to solve,â Eileen replied without looking at him.
Just as Vera returned from the restroom, he saw someone leaning against the windowsill.
1.4
What a coincidence, Elm. I heard you scored quite well on your exam. Congratulations!â The corners of
Veraâs mouth curled into a smile as he continued, âAre you here to invite Eileen for lunch? Letâs go
together!â
Eileen had started munching on a piece of bread. âIâm not going. You guys go on ahead,â she said in a
muffled voice.
Having failed to ask her out to lunch, Elm didnât go to the cafeteria with Vera either. He simply placed a
bottle of milk on the table and left.
After finishing their meal, the classroom was left with less than half of the people. Eileen took a sip of
water and immediately felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen. Sensing something was wrong, she
quickly grabbed a pack of tissues and rushed to the restroom.
In the restroom stall, Eileen took off her pants and noticed the bloodstains on her underwear. My period
isnât due for another ten days or so. Could it have come early?
She then went to the classroom to get a sanitary pad. As she approached, the cramping pain was
almost unbearable. In no time, fresh blood started to seep through her tights.
Before she could even step into the restroom stall, the person coming out from the other side saw
Eileenâs appearance and screamed in fright, âArenât you Eileen from Class One? What happened to
you?â
Eileenâs complexion paled rapidly, she was so weak that she could hardly stand. Suddenly, she thought
of something.
During the New Year, there was originally a plan for surgery, but it was delayed due to some
circumstances.
She grasped the girl who had come over to help, bearing the pain as she said, âCould you do me a
favor and find Elm? Tell him Iâm not feeling well and need him to take me to the hospital.â
âOkay!â The other person nodded and quickly ran out.
It was precisely during class time when that girl left. Elm rushed in moments later. Upon secing Eileen,
whose lower body was covered in blood, he immediately took off his jacket and tied it around her waist
to cover her up. Without asking anything, he picked her up in his arms, borrowed a car from Albert, and
drove straight to the hospital.
âCan you hang on?â
As if all life had left her, Eileen closed her eyes and slumped against the car seat.
âGo to the Serene Hospital. Once you arrive, call Eric. A family memberâs signature is required for the
surgery.â
2/4
âUnderstood.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Eileen found Zachary,
Before the surgery, Zachary performed a preoperative check on Eileen and discovered that her uterus
was infected, which caused the heavy bleeding.
âHow long have you delayed this surgery? Itâs already infected due to disease progression.â
Eileen lay on the operating table, her voice laced with icy sarcasm, âIsnât it thanks to all of you that I
ended up like this?â
Zachary flashed her a mischievous grin. âHeâs already been merciful to you. If it were me⦠Well, this
dose of drug wouldâve been considered far too mild!â
He glanced back at the person standing guard at the door, his smile enigmatic as he said, âOnce
youâve changed into the surgical gown, we can proceed with the operation. Think it through, though.
Once the uterus is removed, youâll never be able to conceive again.â
With a wry laugh, Eileenâs tears fell from the corners of her eyes, soaking into her hair. âWhat other
choice do I have?â she asked.
The sick beauty on the bed seemed as if she could slip away at any moment due to her frailty. On her
face, Zachary seemed to see the woman from years ago, who was also like this. Barely hanging on,
she didnât make it past the second year.
Eric rushed from the company to the outside of the operating room, where he signed the
consent form.
âHowâs the situation?â
âThe current situation leaves us with no other option but to remove the uterus.â
Fiddling with the lighter in his hand, Elm leaned against the wall while listening to their conversation.
âWhat have you done to her this time?â
âA Swan who is forced into a situation of despair. Well done, Eric!â
Zachary glanced at him, then at Eric. âDo you two know each other?â
Ericâs eyes were deep and mysterious, lacking in much emotion. Throughout the entire time, he didnât
even glance at Elm once. âWhen will the surgery be finished?â he inquired.
âIn about an hour or so.â Zachary glanced at Elm and continued with a smile, âItâs just a surgery for
appendicitis, no need to worry. Your girlfriend will be out soon.â
âNonsense! No one with appendicitis would bleed like that!â

this young man certainly has a fiery temper!
After Zachary entered the operating room,
bileen was brought out under partial anesthesia. As she was still conscious, she could feel the
sensintion of her uterus being removed.
da her previous life, she regretted not being able to witness the birth of her child with her
own eyes.
Now that she has lost her womb, it felt as if she had been condemned to death.
From now on, I will never bear my own children again!
Eileen lay on the bed with her eyes closed, aware of the dried tear stains at the corners of her eyes.
The nurse was setting up her IV drip. When Eileen opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was Ericâs
silhouette. With a blank expression, she said. âYouâve had a long journey, so you should head back.
Elm can stay and take care of me.â
Eric left, leaving Eileen all alone in the ward.
âElm, you should head back too. I can manage on my own.â
The school uniform that Elm had already dirtied was draped over the table.
Pulling up a stool to sit on the side, he casually picked up a knife and peeled an apple. Iâve requested
leave from the school. As for the Smith family⦠Well, youâll have to handle things yourself.â
âArenât you going to ask me what happened?â Eileen tilted her head, a hint of red tinting the corners of
her eyes as she looked at him with an icy gaze.
âThis is your affair!â
