Chapter 280
Rebirth of the Wife in Despair
Chapter 280 What Do You Plan To Do
A powerful force pushed her away, and she fell to the ground. The shards cut her palm, causing sharp
pain Blood flowed from her hand, staining her clothes.
Reluctance flashed in Jasperâs eyes. He took a step forward, but then stopped himself, suppressing his
emotions. He turned his back to her, staring out the window. âYou should leave first.â
He didnât want to hurt her. He just couldnât accept her betrayal.
He loved her deeply, giving her everything she wanted. Yet, she treated him like a fool, deceiving him
repeatedly.
Was she mocking him while she was with Eric, lost in their passionate encounters?
Eileen grimaced in pain as she pulled out the glass shard from her palm. She looked down and said,
âAlright. Letâs talk when youâve calmed down.â
She turned around and left the room.
Jasper turned around and saw the bloodstain where she had been. His gaze, filled with anguish, rested
on the firmly closed door.
The housekeeper was surprised to see the injured Eileen.
âEileen got hurt, but Jasper surprisingly didnât care. In the past, Jasper was very fond of Eileen. He
wouldnât even let her hold a kitchen knife, fearing she might cut herself.â
The housekeeper brought the first aid kit and treated Eileenâs wound. Thankfully, it wasnât deep.
Eileen said, âYou can leave now. Remember to bring some food to his room later and remind him to
take his medicine.â
âAlright, Eileen. Please rest well.â
As the housekeeper left, she glanced worriedly at Jasper sitting at the end of the bed.
After a long wait, Eileen finally had some peace and quiet.
Suddenly, the phone on the desk rang. Eileen didnât feel like answering, but it kept ringing. She looked
at the caller ID information.
Eileenâs heart skipped a beat. Just before the call was about to end, she picked it up, feeling anxious
and panicked.
âFather!â
âWhy did the Smith family call off the engagement ceremony?â
Will sounded angry.
âI⦠I donât know,â Eileen stuttered, lowering her head.

Will furrowed his brows and fell silent for a momet
Do you know that Jasper has been secretly meeting with Nancy these past few days
Eileen felt a heaviness in her chest âI donât knowâ
Will sad. âYou donât know anything What do you really know? Youâs been with the Smith family for se
Jong Havenât you noticed anything unusual about Jasper
Eileen didnât know how to respond.
Wil added. Just tell us if thereâs any problem No matter what happens, Eric and I will help you
understand I will handle the matter with Nancy and make sure you become Mrs Smith
Eileen hesitated before asking. What do you plan to do about her?â
âYou donât need to worry about that. Just focus on what you need to do. No matter what approach you
take you must ensure the engagement proceeds as planned. Understood?â
Eileen responded softly. âAlright, Father.â
In the study of Undella Mansion, Will hung up the phone and looked at Eric.
âHow did you find out that Jasper wants to call off the engagement?â Will looked at him deeply. He
realized that his son had become more shrewd and cunning over the years.
He was no longer the easily manipulated child.
âWhether Eileen can successfully marry into the Smith family also concerns the companyâs interests.
As her brother, I naturally have to consider this matter for your sake,â Eric replied.
Will was speechless. âKnowing that youâre thinking of the company brings me comfort. It shows that
over the years, youâve accepted me as your father.â
A sharp glint flashed in Ericâs eyes, too quick for Will to notice.
âYou planted someone in the Smith residence?â Will asked.
Eric nodded without denying. âJasper recently took over the company. Firstly, itâs to monitor his every
move, and secondly, itâs because he and Eileen might encounter unexpected situations.â
For example, Nancy who appeared out of nowhere.
Will patted Ericâs shoulder. âIâve always trusted you to handle things, and these years have proven that
I was right about you.â
Ericâs lips curled up slightly. âFor you, it should be so.â
The housekeeper brought a meal to Jasper, but he threw it all away in a fit of anger.
Eileen hurried over and helped the housekeeper up. âAre you okay?â
The housekeeper nodded fearfully. âEileen, you should see for yourself. Jasper has been coming home
every night these past few days. He hasnât eaten anything and has been drinking in his room. If this

Eileen, please take a look at this.â Another housekeeper climbed up the stairs and handed her a file.
âWe found this in Jasperâs car.â
Eileen took it. âIâll give it to him. You guys can continue with your work. I can handle things here.â
The housekeepers quickly left.
As Eileen was about to give the file to Jasper, a photo fell out.
She picked up the photo and her heart skipped a beat.
The person in the photo was captivating, effortlessly striking poses on the bed that were both alluring
and slightly menacing.
âItâs him again!â she thought.
Besides Eric, Eileen couldnât think of anyone else.
Eileenâs hand trembled as she held the file.
âIs he really so determined to destroy everything I have?â she wondered.
A sour sting in her nose and a painful lump in her throat left her speechless.
However, Eileen couldnât recall ever taking these photos.
If it was a still from a video recording, the pose wouldnât look like this at all.
Upon closer inspection, Eileen noticed something was off. âCould it be possible that the photo is fake?
Is Jasper so angry because of these?â
Hesitantly, Eileen opened the door to Jasperâs room, leaving only a small gap.
She overheard a conversation from inside.
âMr. Smith, your flight to Sloummont has been booked. However, all the recent flights are fully booked.
The earliest available is in a week.â
âAlright!â
