Chapter 290
Rebirth of the Wife in Despair
Chapter 290
Eileen was about to agree when Ariel interjected, âMs. Eileen, your room is separate. We have already
prepared it.â
Eileen said, âThereâs no need for that. Could you please cancel it for me?â
Eileen arrived with just one suitcase, as she didnât bring much luggage. The room she was assigned to
was quite spacious.
Delilah informed Eileen, âOnce you finish tidying up, Iâll introduce you to two people. They also came
with Professor Combs and, based on seniority, they are your fellow senior apprentices.â
Eileen asked, âWhere is Professor Combs?â
âHe went to meet with several leaders from Pillere Art Academy. He has a social engagement tonight
and might return late.â
At that moment, there was a knock on the hotel room door. Delilah went to answer it and found the
hotelâs concierge and room service staff.
After a brief exchange, Delilah called out to Eileen, who was inside the room, âEileen, theyâre here to
see you.â
Eileen put down what she was holding and approached the door.
Delilah looked at her and asked, âDo you need my help with translation?â
Eileen smiled slightly and replied, âNo need to trouble yourself. My Uprian is quite good.â
During the conversation, no one noticed the furrowed brow on Delilahâs face.
Eileen also noticed that the clothes rack by the door was filled with the latest seasonal trends. From
dresses and outfits to lingerie, everything was tailored to her figure. There was also a considerable
amount of makeup and bags.
All of these items were prepared according to the standards of a presidential suite. However, their room
was too small to accommodate everything
Originally, Eileen only wanted to take a few sets of clothes, but they insisted on opening another room
for her, turning the hotel room across the way into her personal wardrobe.
Eileen didnât want to spend too much time on this matter, so she simply went along with their
suggestion.
After sorting everything out, Delilah took her to the restaurant downstairs.
As they headed towards a corner by the floor-to-ceiling windows, Delilah introduced her, âThese are the
two seniors I mentioned. This is Grayson Zarate, and this is Isaac Travers. Weâre all in our third year at
the academy.â
The moment they saw Eileen, they were filled with awe and admiration.
Eileen shook hands with them and greeted them.
After they all took their seats, Grayson said, âI never expected you to be even more beautiful in person.
Eileen.â
Isaac laughed and agreed, âIndeed, now that Eileen is here, it seems like the title of campus belle has
found.
a new owner.â
Eileen maintained her smile throughout. She wasnât skilled at socializing, so her hands under the table

were clenched cautiously.
âYou two must be exaggerating.â
âWeâre just being objective, Eileen. Thereâs no need to be modest. By the way⦠I heard that all the
expenses. for our trip, including this hotel, were covered by the Smith family. If it werenât for our good
fortune, we wouldnât have been able to stay in such a nice hotel. We owe you our thanks. Letâs raise
our glasses to Eileen.
As he spoke, Grayson grabbed Eileenâs glass, poured a drink into it, and then raised his own.
Eileen had no choice but to go along.
Isaac turned to Delilah, who was sitting silently beside him. âDelilah, why are you staring? Raise your
glass!â
It seemed like Delilah had something to say, her eyes filled with unspoken words. However, she
remained silent and simply raised her wine glass for a toast.
Eileen, always perceptive and alert, noticed the hint of dissatisfaction in Delilahâs eyes.
She just didnât understand where Delilahâs dissatisfaction was coming from.
Eileen subtly lowered her gaze, concealing her emotions.
During the meal, Grayson and Isaac chatted with Eileen and shared gossip about other people at
school.
Eileen responded half-heartedly and occasionally asked a few questions.
Delilah suddenly spoke up. âItâs getting late, so Iâm going back to my room to rest. You all continue
eating. Iâll take care of the bill.â With that, she waved her hand.
Eileen stood up. âAllow me to pay. Itâs my first time meeting my seniors, so itâs only right that I treat
you.â
Grayson, sitting next to her, grabbed her wrist and made her sit down. âHow could we let our junior
pay? Donât worry; we have enough funds for this outing.â
The blonde-haired, green-eyed restaurant manager approached as Delilah was about to pay the bill.
To everyoneâs surprise, the manager said, âMr. Smith is a valued member of our hotel, so his wife can
also enjoy our full services. All your expenses are covered; thereâs no need to pay. Additionally, you
may enjoy all the entertainment provided by our hotel.â
After the manager finished speaking, Delilah, Isaac, and Grayson simultaneously turned their Eileen.
Eileen remained silent. This indeed seemed like something Jasper would do.

But for some reason, the more Jasper did for her, the heavier the burden she felt in her heart. Even
though he thought what he was doing was right and proper, she still felt indebted.
After finishing their meal, they returned to their respective rooms.
Delilah barely spoke during the meal. Eileen, following behind, was sending messages to Jasper.
Delilah took her pajamas from the wardrobe and headed to the bathroom.

âWhy arenât you staying in the room I arranged for you?â His voice sounded somewhat weary.
Eileen replied lightly. âIâm not the only one who came this time. There are other students of Professor
Combs staying in standard rooms. If I stay in such a high-class room by myself, people might accuse
me of seeking special treatment. When will you come over? I⦠miss you.â
As she uttered those three words, Eileen could feel her heart pounding in her chest and her breath
hitching.
Jasper chuckled softly, âI miss you too. Give me a few days to sort things out here, and then Iâll come
over to be with you. By the way, shall we make up for our missed wedding night, hmm?â
A blush instantly heated Eileenâs face, making her feel somewhat shy.
She gazed at the stars in the sky, realizing that it must already be daylight in Hulbury.
In an unfamiliar environment, with no familiar faces around, she felt a sense of emptiness in her heart.
Jasper said. âTry to get some rest earlier. Iâll give you a call tomorrow.â
âOkay.â
âGood night.â
After ending the call, Eileen went back to the bedroom. Half of the roomâs lights had already been
turned off. Delilah had finished her shower, tied up her hair, and was lying in bed reading a book.
Without looking up, she said, âIâm used to sleeping with the lights on at night. I hope you donât mind.â
Eileen replied, âThatâs fine.â
Delilah turned a page of her book and continued, âAlso, about the skincare products on the table, I
made some space so we can share them equally. Most of the items on the table are yours, so I moved
some into the drawer when there wasnât enough room.â
âOkay.â
Eileenâs initial impression of Delilah was that she was somewhat difficult to get along with. There was a
certain aloofness about her.
Perhaps sheâs a little cold towards me because itâs our first meeting. We probably just need some time
to adjust and get along.
Eileen didnât pay much attention to these matters.
Eileen walked out of the bathroom with her hair wrapped in a shower cap. She then moisturized her
face and applied body lotion.
âHow much longer until youâre done?â an impatient voice interrupted.
Eileen quickly responded, âYou can go to sleep first. Iâll go to the room across to blow-dry my I donât
disturb you.â
