Chapter 46
Rebirth of the Wife in Despair
Chapter 46 No One Will Bully You Anymore
Back in the office, the assistant who came continued on with the report that he was doing in
the meeting room. He reported everything word for word and left nothing unsaid.
Everyone who was on-site during the incident was here, except for Eileen.
ââ¦So that was all that happened, Mr. Jasper.â
Jasper nodded his head.
The assistant retreated behind him.
The atmosphere grew tense.
The three wives sat on the sofa, none of them dared to speak.
Jasper was an intimidating man. The air around him had a daunting aura, and everyone in the room
could feel it. âI want to see the contract signed in half an hour.â
âYes, President Smith.â Jasperâs new assistant, James Carver, replied.
From the moment Jasper stepped out of his house, he set his sights on taking back what was originally
his.
Jasper could only be able to protect Eileen by doing that.
Everyone dared not say a word, because they did not know about the truth of the
company, and why Jasper was looking for them. They were only wives after all, they didnât have a say
in company affairs.
Then a soft voice broke the silence. âMr. Jasper, I know I am not in any place to say anything about the
company, but⦠I know you mean well, so why did you terminate the cooperation?â
âThatâs none of your business.â Jasper muttered, and left the office.
The wheelchair he was on was a newly developed one from overseas. It could move automatically with
just a press of a button.
It turned out that Jasper had a surgery in the hospital, but after knowing that Eileen was bullied. He
rushed over as soon as he could
Cutside of the offer he heard the sound of a girl crying
Silently he wan hed the gut as tears rulled dow
Lave
The door of the meeting room was still open. He went in to get closer to Eileen, but she had not noticed
him yet.
âWhy are you crying?â Jasperâs voice was surprisingly more delicate than before.
Eileen squeezed her nose, and the sound of her crying stopped immediately. Tears hung on her
eyelashes, and her eyes were still wet. She was kneeling on the floor, and stared blankly at the person
in front of her.
âWhat⦠What are you doing here?â Eileen answered with a hoarse voice, and rubbed the tears off her
cheek with her sleeves, her nose still red.
She was the only one in the meeting room. The teachers had left, and Gavin was on a call somewhere.
âI was just passing by,â Jasper narrowed his eyes and saw the scar on her face. âDoes it hurt?â he
frowned.
Eileen bit her lips and nodded. Tears started falling from her eyes again. âIt does.â
âWere
you wronged?â There was a hint of pity in Jasperâs voice.
She had felt a bit better after crying, but because of what Jasper just asked her, she felt even
worse.
There are so many grievances in two lifetimes.
Her teardrops crashed onto the floor.
Jasper was wearing a black button-up shirt and slacks. His sleeves were rolled up, exposing a green
and mysterious tattoo that stretched all the way from his forearms, to the back of his palm and the tip of
his fingers. He gently laid his tattooed arms on Eileenâs face, cold as they were, and wiped away her
tears with his thumb.
Eileen could not take it anymore. She was not as strong as she thought she was.
She really envied Lany and the others. They could go back into their parentsâ care and embrace when
something went wrong.
But she had no one. Her mom passed away when she was young, and her father⦠He has not liked
her since she was a kid. Even if he tried to care, it was not genuineâ¦.
And her brother⦠The brother that was not hers
She only had one personâ¦
Gavin was actually on the phone with Ene
III
Eric had already sent Vera home. All of her things at school were already packed and ready to be taken
home.
Vera had fallen asleep, so Eric was just starting to deal with Eileenâs problem.
âMs. Swanâ¦â Gavin sighed frustratingly. âWhy donât I just pass the phone to Ms. Swan? You can
console her!â
Eric did not have the energy to coax her. âAfter this is all over, you donât have to bring her here
anymore. Just send her back to the house.â He replied emotionlessly.
âYes, sirâ¦â
Gavin did not put down the call, and put his phone directly into his pocket.
On the other end of the call, Eric walked into the kitchen to get himself a glass of water. Just as he was
about to hang up, suddenly he heard the sound of Eileen crying through the phone.
Apart from her, there was also the voice of another manâ¦
âNo one will bully you anymore okay? Itâs okay. Donât cryâ¦â
Jasperâs hand was warm. It made Eileenâs heart warm up too.
He was the first person to ever say such words to her.
Eric had never been the one to console her when she was sad. He would tell her that it annoyed him a
lot that she was a crybaby and shoo her away.
âCan I⦠lean on your shoulder?â Eileen asked with a tremble in her voice.
Jasper smiled slightly and stretched out his hands towards her. âAnytime.â
So just when Gavin walked in, he saw Eileen crying in another manâs arms.
put
him in a dilemma, he didnât know what to do.
Eric heard Eileenâs cries, and his eyes deepened.
Eileen had put some ointment on her face Jasper had bought it for her
It was only the third time that they had met, abeâs already held her in his arms when she cried she had
wer his clothes from all her cars even more embarrasingly, her shot as
well
Apart from this incident, Eileen knows deep inside that she couldnât take another beating again.
So, she let Gavin take her for a car ride.
âDo you think my father will know about what happened today?â she asked in the car.
Gavin looked at her through the rearview mirror and nodded. âIf you feel wronged about it. Ms. Swan,
you can always tell him. Even though he may not look like he cares, Iâm sure heâll take care of it for you
behind the scenes.â
Eileen stared out the window and enjoyed the seaside view. They were at the border between Hulbury
and Pearltown.
There was a painting in her room that depicted the very same scene she was looking at. Her mom was
the one who drew itâ¦
â⦠Letâs not trouble him today! Heâs already busy enough.â
âGavin, letâs go home a bit later today. Can you⦠help me hold him offâ¦?â Eileen bit her lips as she
said that.
Gavin took a deep breath. âI will try my best, Ms. Swan.â
âOh, forget it⦠I have to go back and deal with it anyways. I was the one who caused all the mess.
Letâs just head back, Gavin.â
âSure thing, Ms. Swan.â
Back on the road, Eileen saw a vendor selling ice cream, so she asked Gavin to stop the car and buy a
couple for them.
He had a blueberry one, and she had a strawberry one.
She was just a girl after all, so having something to eat before a scolding was not a loss to her.
Back at Undella Mansion, the sky was already dark.
She took a dayâs leave from todayâs training class
teen carried her school backpack and walked into the mansionâs entrance. She could smell the went of
burning flames the second she passed the door.
Everyone was already sitting on the dining table
bar had beland Cavin
He could feel a sense of tense eeriness in the room. âMr. Swan, sir, everything is settled. Ms. Swan is
aware of her wrongdoings, and apologized to all of the ladies.â
Will Swan could see Eileen through Gavinâs frame. âYouâve worked hard today. Go home.â
âYes, sir.â As Gavin turned around to leave, he shot Eileen a look, as to wish her good luck.
Will did not look at his daughter at all. He only picked up the spoon on the table, took a bite of food, and
said. âGo kneel in the study.â
Eileen lowered her gaze. âYes, father.â
Sharon looked at her worryingly. She really couldnât help her this time..
