Chapter 79
Edgar’s Relentless Pursue for The Love of His Life
Chapter 79 Traps
Jean received a message from Winnie when she reached home last night, hoping that she would not tell the Reece family about their previous relationship.
Jean took a sip of the juice on the table. After calming herself down, she continued to watch the entertaining show put on by the three of them.
Jean was wondering when to tell Winnie that Edgar, who was sitting opposite her, also knew about their relationship. Edgarâs attitude was one of bored indifference.
âEdgar, Iâve talked to Gigiâs father. Iâm sorry that we didnât handle the incident well. I hope you donât put the blame on Gigi. She knows nothing about the incident.â
Winnie smiled while serving herself a cup of tea, âEdgar, Iâll finish this cup of tea as an apology for my husband.â
Winnie spoke very loudly.
Those who donât know them must have thought that she is Gigiâs biological mother.
Jean propped her chin and looked at Edgar.
The man slightly raised his head, âDid you guys come here just to tell me about this?â
He asked fiercely in a burst of impatience.
âNo.â Gigi pushed Winnie anxiously, âTell him quickly!â
Before going out that morning, Winnie promised Gigi that she had full confidence in restoring the relationship between Edgar and the Reece family.
Winnie patted Gigiâs hand, âGigi, donât worry. You are pregnant with Edgarâs baby. No matter what happens to the Reece family, Edgar will not draw the line with us. Otherwise, who will take care of you and the baby in the future?â
Geez.
Jean admired Winnieâs courage.
How dare she threaten Edgar with Gigiâs pregnancy?
Normally, a guy would pretend to compromise for his own reputation.
However, Edgar warned them coldly, âI will take responsibility for the baby, but we mustnât lump our personal affairs and the Royden Group together.â
âOf course theyâre related. If the Reece Group does well, you will benefit from us too. Besides, Carlâs car accident is still under investigation. How can you make sure that itâs related to the Reece family? Whereâs your evidence?â Winnie smiled and said.
âI think weâre all framed by someone.â
âWho?â Edgar looked at Winnie.
âJean.â
Jean was stunned.
How did they find out?
Is Monica in trouble?
Jean wanted to leave to check on Monica. But when she stood up, she heard Edgar saying, âGive me your reason.â
He doesnât believe Winnie?
Jean turned around. Although she knew that Edgar couldnât see her, she still felt nervous.
Edgar was staring coldly at Winnie.
âAfter Jean got out from prison, your wedding was ruined. Besides, the woman who got into a car accident with Carl is actually a friend of Jean.â
Jean snorted.
She sat back and continued to eat. Contents belong to NovelDrama.Org
Miles, who had been watching Jean outside the door, sent a message to Edgar.
âJean has no response. Sheâs enjoying her meal.â
Edgar stared coldly at his phone.
He had suspected Jean for a long time. He also prepared the show today to check on Jeanâs reaction.
If she really went behind my backâ¦
âSheâs right, Edgar. I am suspicious of her motives too!â Gigi couldnât hold herself anymore. âIf it werenât for her, we would have gotten married a long time ago.â
Winnie looked at Gigi, feeling really proud of her. She added, âI think both of you should get married as soon as possible. Also, you should propose a joint venture operation between the two companies. As Samâs son-in-law, you should believe in him even if everyone doesnât.â
Hmm, putting all the blame on me.
Jean was enjoying her spicy crab in the room.
âThese are really delicious.â
Winnie has made the right guess, and Edgar planned this meeting because he is also suspicious of me.
She wasnât afraid of facing Edgar, but she knew that he would probably lock her up if she admitted all her plans then. Besides, she hadnât implemented the second step of her plan.
In the other room, Edgar was continuously tapping on the table.
Gigi looked at Edgar guiltily, âEdgar, do you think itâs her? I donât think anyone hates you as much as she does.â
Edgar smiled contemptuously, âI have made many enemies over the years.â
In order to succeed, he had given up a lot of things and offended a lot of people. From his standpoint, he didnât think that he was wrong. He had to step on others to rise to the top.
Gary Eyer was one of them.
Although Edgar was smiling, he looked miserable.
âHow can Jean create such a big chaos by herself?â
Itâs impossible that she can do all these.
Jean was still eating her crabs.
She spat out the shell of the crab and muttered, âWho are you looking down on?!â
Winnie smiled awkwardly, âI mean, it could be right?â
Winnie didnât know what else to say to support her statement. She hesitated for a while, then took something out from her purse.
âThis card was given to me by Jean yesterday. She asked me to help her keep an eye on Gigi, but I rejected her.â Winnie handed the card to Edgar.
âThis card contains one hundred thousand and it belongs to Jean. The password is her birthday.â
âBangâ.
Jean put down the chopsticks and stared angrily at Winnie.
She knew that her father had left her some money, but only then she realized that it was stolen by Winnie.
Edgar glanced at the card and said, âYou were Jeanâs fatherâs ex-girlfriend. Can I believe in you?â
Winnie smiled embarrassingly.
She grabbed Gigiâs wrist under the table and smiled at Edgar, âItâs all in the past. My heart belongs to Gigi and the Reece family now.â
âIs it true?â
Edgar sneered.
Winnie coughed, âWell, you can go and check it out if you really donât believe in me.â
Edgar glanced in Jeanâs direction again. He took her card away and got up, âOur wedding will be held on the day after tomorrow. Prepare yourself in advance.â
Gigi couldnât help smiling when she heard what Edgar said.
âThatâll be great, Edgar. I will definitely perform well. Iâm so happy.â
Winnie breathed a sigh of relief. If it wasnât for Jeanâs card, he probably wouldnât trust me.
