Chapter 9

Dante's pov

After returning home, we all directly went to our room. We all were exhausted. Physically and mentally, both. Whatever happened today was unpredictable. Never thought something like that could happen.

To be honest, I'm happy that now I don't have to tolerate Maddison. That woman is crazy. Spoiled brat. And her voice. Oh my god *mentally facepalm* her voice is so fuCking annoying. Specially when she screams. Her voice always cause me trouble. I bet if I keep on listening her voice, I'll go deaf.

Maddison is hard to tolerate. Now I don't have to tolerate her. Good thing.

But on the other hand, I got married to Crystal who's nothing but a stranger. Well Maddison was also a stranger. But atleast she was a known stranger. I knew her family background.

But Crystal, I don't know a thing about her, except her name. Tomorrow dad's private investigator is gonna give us her details.

Sighing I made my way to my walk in closet and pulled a tshirt and short to wear.

How much I love wearing these comfortable clothes *aah*.

Changing my clothes, I laid on bed but sleep was far away from me. I kept on thinking about today's happenings or may I say thinking about someone who has beautiful big brown eyes. Her eyes are beautiful.

Her everything is beautiful.

My inner voice mocked me to which I groaned.

Thinking about her and today's event finally I slept.

Time skip.

It's almost 9:30 AM and we all are waiting for dad's private investigator. We all are anxious. Finally, Max (Private investigator) appeared. He had a file in his hand. He first greeted us, later settled himself in one of the chair in our study.

He then forward the file to dad. When dad opens the file, their was a big picture of Crystal's attached. She was smiling in the picture.

Her smile is beaut..

Shut up. I scolded myself and decided to concentrate on her background.

Mother- Khloe Collins (Dead)

Step mother- Samantha Collins

Address- XYZ

College- Holy Cross College

She is a student in Holy Cross College, lives in xyz appartment. Her biological mom passed away in a car accident when she was six. Later her dad got married to his girlfriend Samantha. Her father kicked her out of his house when she was just nine year old. From the age of nine she was living with her grandmother, but her grandmother too passed away two years ago.

Currently she is living alone and working as an assistant of the famous designer Andera Heard to pay her bills.

Five years ago, there was a guy named Peter who was her neighbour. He was 23 at that time and according to him he fell in love with Crystal. He did proposed her but she rejected him. He couldn't take no for an answer and kept on forcing himself on her. When she didn't give him attention, he tried to kidnapped her and molest her along with his friend. But fortunately cops caught him before he could harm Crystal and arrested him.

Currently he is living in Australia with his parents and Crystal is out of his reach.

Listening all these things, I felt bad for her. She has struggled all her life and still doing it. But I felt extremely proud for her. She's a strong headed girl. She could have easily given up on her life but she decided to stay strong and work hard for her future.

Now I realise why she got afraid when Maddison blackmailed her to ruin her career. Of course she has worked hard and won't let someone ruin her career. No matter what.

After handling the file to dad, Max decided to leave. Dad asked him to keep her identity secret and also told him to keep an watch on Kingsleys each and every actions. When he left we all settled ourselves in nearby couch.

"Look Simon, yesterday you were questioning her intentions. And now look, how brave she is" Mom said looking proudly at her file.

Dad hummed looking at mom.

"Now?" Dad questioned her.

"Now, what?" Mom questioned back.

"What about her? Do you think her living alone is safe? First that obsessed lover of her Peter and now Kingsleys. They all are behind her, specially Kingsleys. She has exposed them and have ruined their chances of being powerful. I don't think they are gonna forgive her easily, or ever. Her living alone might be easy for Kingsleys to hurt her. Or if somehow others got to know that she is a Knight now, they can use her for money or for anything" Dad sighed.

"I agreed she is strong but now she have to be very careful. One mistake and she can be hurt" Dad said looking outside the window.

I balled my fists angrily and "No one can hurt her" chanted in my head.

"So? What do you think we should do now?" Ashton questioned dad.

"I think we have to protect her. Provide her a bodyguard and..." He stopped and looked at me.

"And?" I asked raising my brows at him.

"And.. *he sighed* I think she should stay here until this mess is over" Dad said looking directly at me.

Stay here? In our home? In my ro..room?

"Dad but they both are strangers. Do you think they can live with each other, in one room?" Sarah asked looking shocked.

"Um no. I didn't said that. Crystal can stay in guest room" Dad said and everyone nodded, except me.

"But do you think Crystal will agree for this?" Sarah questioned.

"I don't know but we have to try to make her agree. She don't know how much danger is behind her" Mom said looking at Sarah.

"Yeah. She helped us and now it's our turn to return her, her favour" Dad said with a small smile.

"But dad, their is still a problem" Sarah stopped looking at us.

"What problem?" Dad asked looking at her confusingly.

"Andera Heard, Crystal's boss. Andera is very nosy person. If she get one clue of Crystal being a Knight, she would definitely tell everyone. Crystal being her assistant is not a good thing" Sarah said worriedly.

"Sarah is right. We can't trust Andera. She loves gossip. Crystal have to quit working for her. Also she is a Knight now. We can easily bare her expenses. I don't think she needs to work. She can just focus on her studies" Ashton said proudly and not gonna lie but I felt bad.

Come on, she won't like someone else paying for her expenses. I might don't know her personally. But reading everything about her, I can definitely say that she is not a gold digger. Her pride is important to her.

"Ashton don't say this. She's not a gold digger" Sarah said looking at Ashton and I internally grinned.

"Oh no.. I didn't mean that" Ashton said with wide eyes.

"But you just sound like that" Sarah said glaring at him.

"No.. I didn't. Ok I'm sorry but I really didn't mean that. I know she's not a gold digger" Ashton said raising his hands up.

"Okay enough now. Max has got her number as well. I'm calling her and I'm gonna ask her to meet us today" Mom said typing something in her phone.

Let's just wait for Collins. Oh no no no, Knight. Crystal Knight.
