Chapter 19

Crystal's pov

A week later...

"Give this file to Dante Knight and ask him to sign these papers" Mr jenner said giving me a file to which I nodded and left his cabin.

It has been a week since that incident and a week since I haven't gotten a single threat from Kingsley's. I smiled thinking about that.

When I reached outside Dante's cabin, I mentally prepared myself first and than I knocked his cabin door to which I heard a faint 'Come in'.

Entering inside his cabin I saw him busy working in some file without looking at me. Twisting my lips at his ignorant behavior I moved ahead, towards his table.

"Um.. Mr jenner has send these files for you to sign" I said to which he looked up at me.

Now that he looked up at me I realised how tired he was looking. His eyes were little red, clearly indicating towards his lack of sleeping.

"Hmm" He nodded and took the file from me and he started reading them.

Till the time he was reading I wandered my gaze at his cabin in search of something interesting. Next moment my gaze fell on a cabinet which was filled with his trophies and certificates. I moved towards the cabinet and looked at his trophies.

There were several trophies placed beautifully. Some were small and some were in big sizes. I kept looking at him.

"He has won so many trophies but not a single trophy for being the world's biggest arrogant person, hmm. No problem, I'll give him that award" I giggled to myself.

"I heard that" I heard him and turned towards him and he was glaring me.

"Congratulations, you have sharp ears" I said instead of apologizing to which he glared me more but seconds later he shook his head in disbelief.

"I have signed these papers" He said to which I nodded and went towards him.

I collected all those papers and was about to leave when he caught my wrist.

"What?" I asked raising my brows at him.

"So you aren't coming?" He asked giving me a soft look.

"I'm not coming, where?" I asked confused.

"In party" He said to which I hummed in realisation.

About the party, Knights have thrown a big party for their employees, business partners and clients as Knights have won the biggest project of the year. Everyone is quite excited about this party. I even eavesdrops someone's conversation that Knights always throws the best parties and their parties are something you can't skip but I have to skip them.

"I really wanted to come but I have to prepare for my exam which is day after tomorrow" I said sadly.

"But aren't you a bright student. You can easily ace the exam even if you attend today's party" He said leaving my wrist.

"I don't know. I can't take risk" I sighed looking away.

"You're scared of taking risks?" He chuckled looking at me.

"Kind of" I replied in equally playful tone.

"Hmm.. That explain why you get nervous around stairs" He said in mocking tone.

"Ha ha very funny" I rolled my eyes at him.

"Can I leave now?" I asked after a minute of silence.

"No" He said but then shook his head and said "Yes".

After submitting the file to mr jenner I went back to my cabin to finish the remaining works.

After my shift I went back to Knight mansion but no one was there. Of course everyone will be at venue at this time.

I sighed and made my way towards the room. Once reaching there, I changed my clothes and got freshen up. When I was combing my hair someone knocked the door.

I opened the door to see Maria was there. She is a cook here.

"Miss, I have prepared your dinner" She said causing me to look at her in surprise.

"Dinner?" I asked surprisingly.

"Yep. Mrs knight told me that you will stay at home and I have to make dinner for you" She said and I smiled.

Mrs knight is an angel. She always cares for me.

"You go down. I'll be there in a minute" I said to which she nodded and left.

I went back to vanity table and tied my hairs in a messy bun and applied little moisturizer in my face before leaving the room.

When I was descending the stairs I suddenly remembered how Dante was always used to be near me when I had to climb or descends from the stairs.

I smiled a little and caught the railing to prevent myself from falling.

Once I was done I made my way towards the dining place and had my dinner.

And let me tell you one thing, during my dinner Maria was there and she kept sitting beside me until I didn't finish my dinner. She didn't let me got up once before finishing my dinner saying that it was Mrs Knight's order.

Ugh.

Maria even blackmailed me that she will call Mrs knight and complain her about me that I'm not finishing my dinner.

Once I was done I sighed in relief. Though Maria is a good cook but I'm not a big fan of food. I prefer eating small amount of food only. Not that I'm dieting or something. It just I don't like eating much.

When I was leaving I heard a ping in my phone. When I checked it, it was from my office colleague. He has shared an interview link in our group. When I saw that carefully, it was Dante's picture in the thumbnail. Being a curious person I opened his interview link only to get mesmerized by Dante's look.

Can this man look bad for once? Hell no. He always look dashing. If not an entrepreneur he could have been a model. Damn.

He was looking like an eye candy in black tux. His hairs were perfectly gelled. His personality screams royalty.

About the interview, at first he was talking about his project and office related stuffs but than the interviewer started asking him questions relation to Maddison.

"Mr Knight, you know before your marriage, Kingsley's gave an interview saying that you and Maddison are getting married. But than you got married to someone else. Why did you played with Maddison's life?" Interviewer asked him.

"You're completely wrong here. I never played with Maddison's life. She tried to play with my life. She was already in love with someone else but still she wanted to marry me for money and fame. And Kingsley's lied about our marriage news" Dante lied confidently.

Although not everything was a lie here.

"We have came to know that you have got married to the love of your life. Is that true?" Interviewer asked and I know this time Dante is gonna lie, Completely.

"Yes it's true. I'm happily married to the girl I love" Dante said with a small smile.

Even though I know he is lying but still I felt warmness in my heart.

"Who is that lucky girl? Are you gonna introduce her to us, today?" Interviewer asked another question.

"I wish I could but I can't" Dante said softly.

"Why not?" He asked back.

"Well as I told you before, my wife is a camera shy person. She don't want to reveal her identity as of now. But soon we will make an appearance together" Dante said looking directly in the camera.

I didn't wanted to sound stupid but when he was looking directly in the camera I felt like he was looking at me through the camera.

After few more questions, his interview came to an end.

I got up from my place and was about to leave when Mr jenner called me. I frowned looking at the caller I'd.

Why is he calling me at this time?

"Hello" I said after receiving the call.

"Hello, Crystal?" Mr jenner huffed desperately.

"Yes Mr jenner" I said unsure of what else to say.

"Crystal, listen to me carefully. I'm in a mess and only you can help me" He said tiredly.

"Sure Mr jenner. I"ll definitely help you" I said softly.

"Crystal, I have forgotten my important Pendrive in my cabin. Just go to the office and than in my cabin and get that Pendrive from the second drawer of the cabinet" Mr jenner said fastly.

"This time?" I asked looking at the clock which was indicating 11 of the night.

"Yes Crystal, now. This Pendrive is important in today's event. If you will not get that Pendrive, we can lose that project" He said and I widened my eyes in shock.

No ways. Everyone has worked hard for this project.

"No no no. I will get that Pendrive asap" I said nodding my head vigorously.

"Great. Get that Pendrive and come to 'Hotel plaza' where Knights have thrown the party, okay" He asked to which I hummed before disconnecting the phone.

I quickly went to my room and got my handbag and some cash.

"Martin must be at his home right now. I shouldn't disturb him" I thought and decided not to call him.

I quickly came out of Knights mansion without getting noticed and booked a cab for myself.

After a few minutes when cab arrived I sat inside and went back to office to get that Pendrive for mr jenner um or I can say for KNIGHTS.
