Dante's pov

You know what's the best part of life is? When everyone praises you for your work.

Currently everyone is praising me for winning the project as the idea was given by me. And not just that, but it was me who worked hard to implement this idea.

Everyone here are talking about me. Some peoples are eyeing me in respect and some in jealousy. I'm enjoying both though.

I was talking with my business partner when I saw two reporters were coming towards me.

I groaned internally looking at them. Not that I'm scared of answering them but these two reporters are just insane. They don't understand the term 'Personal life'. They try their best to frustrate the person by asking them personal questions. And if you don't answer them, they bloody publish rubish things in their articles.

Just few minutes back, I had given an interview. Through they too asked me about Maddison but atleast they didn't bug me much about Maddison or Crystal but these two reporters who are coming my way are surely gonna bug me a little too much.

Although I was angry inside but I still manage to give them a smile.

"Hello Mr knight" One of them said to which I nodded.

"If you don't mind we have few questions for you" Another one said and I nodded giving them a small smile but in reality I wanted to strangle their neck cause I know they're gonna ask me about Maddison and Crystal.

"So Mr knight first of all congratulations for winning this huge project" They said and I thanked them.

For few minutes they asked me about my works but then they showed their true colors.

"Mr knight recently you got married with the girl you claim to love, right? Who is she?" One of them asked and I mentally sighed.

"I have told this before too that I can't reveal her identity right now" I said calmly.

"And why so? Is their any problem?" Another one asked raising his brows at me.

Although I felt like strangling but still I managed to give him a smile.

"My wife knows how toxic this world is and how badly she's gonna be judged by others like my sister in law Sarah got judged and hated by others for no reason. So, she is taking her time before she reveals herself" I said and remembered the time when these same reporters and their other team members published stupid lies about Sarah.

Because of their lies Sarah got hate from so many peoples without any reason. Everyone out their judged her intentions for marrying my brother because they thought Sarah wasn't good enough for Ashton and also they thought that Sarah was gold digger, cheater and so on. But being a family I know how good she is and how lucky my brother is that he got a wife like Sarah.

"But what's her name? Least you can do is to tell us your wife's name" One of them said and I fought the urge to roll my eyes at him.

"I can't" I said giving them a tough look.

"Are you really married? You are not introducing your wife to us neither you are announcing her name, what's the matter?" They asked and I fists my palm tightly.

"I have told this before that I will introduce my wife to the world only when the correct time will come. Your desperation won't help" I said with authority to which they nodded.

"But what about Maddison?" One of them asked and I narrowed my eyes at him.

"What about her?" I asked giving them a warning look.

"You and Maddison were supposed to marry each other, isn't it?" He asked and I glared him.

"Yes my grandfather made this clause because Ethan Kingsley manipulated him but that clause also stated that if we both are in love with another person we can call off the wedding. And Maddison was already dating someone and I was seeing someone else too. But still Maddison forced me to marry her because she wanted money and fame. But she didn't got success so she spread that lie that we are getting married which was nothing but a lie" I said with straight face.

"So you mean Maddison is lying?" He asked me with narrowed eyes.

"That's what I just said" I said raising my brows at him in dangerous manner to which he nodded.

He was ready with his another question when one of our business partner called me.

"Excuse me" I said to them and immediately left from their.

I sighed softly once I was away from their gaze and went towards the business partner.

When I was done with my speech I made my way towards the drinks corner.

I was having my red wine when I heard Jenner's voice.

"Hello Crystal, where are you?" He chirped to which I frowned and looked towards him. His back was facing me and he was talking in the phone.

"What?" He said.

"Did you got the pendrive?" He once again asked.

"Oh, okay okay. I'm coming. Just stay their" He said and disconnected the phone before walking towards the entrance.

What the fuCk is happening? Why was he talking to Crystal at this time? And where is Crystal and where did he go? And which pendrive he was talking about?

All these questions were running in my minds and I decided to follow him.

But to my disappointment someone stopped me. After ending the conversation within few minutes I went towards the entrance.

When I was outside the venue I started searching them but couldn't find them. But after a minute I saw Jenner. He was coming from the parking area. I narrowed my gaze at him who was looking at a pendrive which was in his hand. Looking carefully at that pendrive I realised that this was the same pendrive which had information regarding the project. I frowned looking at that.

Jenner didn't noticed me and directly went inside. I went towards the parking area but couldn't find Crystal.

Maybe I have heard something wrong.

I thought of going back but than I saw her. She was in her night clothes looking extremely adorable.

But wait, why is she here?

I frowned and wandered my gaze in search of Martin but couldn't find him.

Later my gaze went to Crystal who was walking outside. I kept walking behind her but stopped when I saw her waiting for taxi and that moment I decided to confront her.

"What are you doing here?" I asked to which she turned towards me looking startled.

"Oh my god Dante you scared me" She almost yelled keeping her hand on her chest.

"Crystal, what are you doing here? And where is Martin?" I asked trying not to shout at her.

"Uh.. Actually.. I'm.. Uh" She stammered looking away from me.

"Crystal" I said with authority to which she looked at me in shock.

This is the first time I'm using my typical business tone on her.

"Answer me. What are you doing here and what's the deal with Jenner?" I asked to which she looked shocked for the moment but then sighed.

"Um.. Actually, Mr Jenner called me an hour back and said that he forgot to bring the pendrive in today's event. So he asked me to bring that pendrive from his office" She said and I felt guilty for using that tone for her. She just helped us and I used that tone on her.

"I'm so sorry Crystal and thanks" I said with a small smile to which she nodded.

"But where is Martin?" I asked and she looked away.

"Crystal?" I called her but she kept on looking away.

"Crystal, where is Martin?" I asked again.

"Fine I'm calling him" I said and took my phone out to call him but Crystal stopped me.

"Martin isn't with me" She said looking at me. I narrowed my gaze at her for her answers.

"Uh.. Actually Mr Jenner called me at 11 pm and at that time Martin was at his home. So, I thought not to disturb him" She said looking away.

"And nobody from the home stopped you?" I asked angrily.

"I didn't let them know that I-I was out" She said slowly looking down.

I fisted my palm in anger and pulled her towards me through her arms.

"Can you hear yourself? What are you even saying?" I almost yelled at her.

"You know that Kingsleys are behind you and that's why Martin was appointed so that he can protect you. But still you took such a big risk with your life? How dare you?" I said glaring her.

"Dante i-i.. Nothing ha--happened to me" Crystal said softly but I got more angry.

"What if... " Before I could say anything my phone rings.

Angrily I left her and checked my phone to see dad was calling me.

I received the call while glaring Crystal. Dad was asking me to join him as he was ready to give the presentation but I denied. At first he was shocked but I somehow convinced him.

After disconnecting the phone I looked towards Crystal who was looking away, avoiding my gaze.

"Come with me" I said and caught her hand.

"What? Where?" She asked looking at me in shock and this time I noticed her eyes which were little wet.

I cursed myself and wiped her eyes and said "Sorry" to her to which she looked shocked. Even I was shocked with my behavior.

"We are going home" I said and start moving towards our private parking area but she stopped me.

"But Dante today is your success party. You should be there. I'll go by my own" Crystal said but I shook my head in denial.

"You will not go alone and that's final" I said and start dragging her.

When we were going Crystal suddenly jerked. I looked towards her to see that her right leg got hit by a rock and blood starts flowing from her toe.

"Oh my god Crystal are you ok?" I asked and bend towards her leg but she moved back.

"Yeah yeah.. I'm ok" Crystal replied almost immediately and I stood up.

She said she's ok but her voice and face says otherwise.

She started walking but hissed in pain. I groaned looking at her stubbornness. She was in pain but wasn't ready to admit.

She again tried to walk and again hissed. This time I couldn't control myself. I stopped her and immediately lift her in my arms in bridal style.

"Hey... What are you doing?" She asked surprisingly.

"Shut up" I shushed her and start walking towards my car.

When I was almost near my car I saw few paparazzi there.

"Crystal hide your face, fast" I said almost immediately.

"What?" She looked shocked.

"Crystal don't fuCking say anything and hide your face asap. There are paparazzi and they're definitely gonna notice us any second" I said and thankfully Crystal quickly hides her face in my chest. Although I should feel tensed right now but her this act, did something to me. I felt giddy when she was this close to me.

But keeping my feelings aside I finally reached towards my car. But unfortunately they saw me as I heard my name being yelled.

"Mr Knight who is she?"

"Is she your wife?"

"Is she your mistress?"

"Who is she?"

"Show us her face"

"Is she your one night stand?"

"Why is she hiding herself?"

"Is she after your money?"

I heard them yelling and trying to come near me but securities here stopped them. Taking the time I immediately settled Crystal in my car and myself too and start driving away from them. Crystal had her face down trying to avoid getting captured.

I finally reversed my car and start driving away but from the car mirror I saw them still trying to push through the security. I sighed once I came out from their sight.

When I was driving home I called my dad and brother and told them everything and asked them to cover up the mess. Through they said yes but dad got little angry. After discussing everything I disconnected the call and looked towards Crystal who was asleep.

I so wanted to feel angry on her for her carelessness but just by looking at her I forget everything.

Damn, She's doing something to me.
