Chapter 31

Dante's pov

After working for hours I finally decided to take a break. I closed all my files and my laptop and leaned back to my chair and closed my eyes to relax myself.

Sigh.

After some ten minutes of relaxing myself I opened my eyes and decided to work. When I was in the middle of my work my phone starts ringing.

Martin?

Why is Martin calling me? I frowned and received his phone.

"Yes Martin" I said as soon as I answered his phone.

"Mr Knight. I wanted to inform you something" He said from the other side causing me to frown at him.

"What?" I asked him.

"Mr Knight, it's about Crystal. She was looking really sick when she came out of college. I asked her about that but she said that she was okay. And not just that, she is back in the knight mansion before her shift ends and said the same thing that she is okay but she doesn't look okay" He said to which I frowned.

"Uh.. Okay Martin. Thanks for informing me. I'll check on her" I said before disconnecting the phone.

I stood up from my place and went towards the Jenner's cabin but found him in the corridor talking with the management officer of our company. I walked to them to which they both greeted me.

"I have something to discuss with you, Jenner" I said to which they both nodded and soon the management officer went away.

"What happened to Crystal?" I asked directly without dragging the matter.

"Mr Knight?" He questioned raising his brows at me.

"You heard me, Jenner. A few minutes back Martin called me and said that Crystal was looking sick and she went back to her place before her shift. And I'm sure she must have asked you before leaving so now tell me what's wrong?" I said sternly to which he nodded a little.

"Yes Mr knight I asked her to leave because she was sick. Her stomach was aching and she was looking pale. I even asked her to visit the doctor but she didn't listen so I thought of giving her a leave. And I knew that she is your family so I wanted to inform you about her but Crystal stopped me saying that she don't want to trouble you or your family that's why I kept my mouth shut" Jenner said to which I hummed.

She's so stubborn.

I asked Jenner to leave and called her but she wasn't picking my call. Getting irritated with all these things I called my PA and informed him that I was leaving.

During the whole ride I was worried for her. I even stopped at pharmacy and bought some painkillers for her. When I finally reached my mansion, I quickly came out of my car and went inside. But all those guards were giving me curious glances. At first I was confused but soon I realised that this was the first time I have came early and that's why they were curious.

Giving them a curt look I entered inside the mansion only to see that mom and Sarah were having a small get together with some women's. Seeing me early they were shocked too.

"Oh my god Dante. You are home at this time?" Mom asked with surprise to which I smiled a little at her.

I badly wanted to ask about Crystal but stopped myself seeing the women's. They all were looking at me curiously and some of them who were around Sarah's age were even giving me seductive smiles. I internally rolled my eyes at them.

"Yeah mom. Actually I was tired so I though of coming early today" I lied.

"Oh but..." Mom said.

"It's good that you're here Dante" A woman who was earlier giving me seductive smile said happily to which I groaned from inside but still give her a smile.

I badly wanted to smack her head for interrupting my mom but stopped myself because her husband was a good client of ours and I don't wanted to loose the business opportunity because of some petty issue.

Though I can't belive that despite being married she is here trying to seduce me which was not even working.

"Yes Dante. It's good to see you" Another one said with a cunning smile.

"By the way you're looking more handsome then before" She said with a giggle.

She fucking giggles. What is she, five?

"Oh yes Dante. You're looking really handsome. Your wife is dumb that she went to some stupid trip, leaving you here. If I was your wife, I would have never left you alone not even for a second" The first woman said to which I looked at my mom who gave me a nervous smile in return.

"Well you're not my wife" I said with a smile to which she looked pissed but quickly masked her emotions.

"Of course I'm not" She said faking a smile at me.

"And yes, my wife isn't dumb so next time be careful with your words" I said with a tight smile to which she nodded but I could see jealously swirling in her eyes.

Giving them a last glance I was about to leave but the second woman caught my arm. I gave her a glare to which she looked scared but still didn't leave me.

"Come on Dante. Sit with us for some time. What's the hurry?" She asked and rubbed my arms.

What the fuck? For God sake she is married. And even I'm married still she is here trying to flirt with me.

"Leave me" I said angrily but she kept rubbing my arms.

"I SAID LEAVE" this time I used my most dangerous tone to which she quickly left me looking scared like hell.

"Next time don't ever try to touch me" I said in the warning tone to which she gulped her saliva in fear.

"D-Dante.. I-I was just..uh.." I didn't listen to her and and walked away.

When I was outside the Crystal's room I knocked thrice but she didn't answered me. Taking a deep breath, I pushed opened the door only to see that Crystal was sleeping. I sighed and closed the door behind me and walked to her bed. Keeping the medicines on the table I sat beside Crystal and looked at her. She is indeed looking pale. I touched her forehead to see the temperature but it felt normal.

"What happened to you Crystal?" I asked her sleeping form and patted her head a little.

After sitting with her for few more minutes I decided to let her sleep for some more time. I stood up from the bed and covered her properly with the blanket and went to my room.

After freshen up I once again went to her room to check on her where she was still sleeping.

When I was roaming outside her room my mom came to me.

"I know you are not home because you are tired. Tell me what's wrong?" Mom asked giving me a look.

"Nothing" I lied with a straight face.

"No. No. No. You're not getting away from this, just like that. Come on tell me" She asked with a playful smile.

"Mom there is nothing like that. I was tired so I decided to come early. Why it is so hard to believe?" I said with a slight chuckle.

"Because my son, I'm your mom. I know you very well. You are way to passionate about your work and you bloody go to office even if you are sick so don't give me this excuse that you were tired and all. Tell me the truth" Mom said with a bored face.

"Mom please.." I whined looking at her stubbornness.

God knows how dad deals with her!

"Okay fine, you don't want to spill no problem. I'll do that for you. You are home because Crystal is sick, isn't it?" Mom said and I widened my eyes in shock.

Mom laughed at my reaction and patted my cheek a little.

"I'm your Mom, Dante. You think you can fool me?" She asked with a smile to which I smiled at her.

"Martin called. He said that Crystal was looking sick when she came out of college" I said and she nodded.

"Hmm. She really looked sick when she came home. I asked her but she said that she was ok" Mom sighed to which I hummed.

"Later Jenner said that her stomach was aching" I said after a while to which she nodded.

"Don't worry. She will be okay" Mom said with a small smile.

"But I'm really impressed, you know. My son, for the very first time came home early because his wife was sick, interesting huh" Mom added with a chuckle to which I groaned.

"Mom please ya" I said angrily but she just laughed at me with ruffled my hairs a little.

"I'm glad that Crystal came in our life and I really want her to stay with you, always" Mom said and I looked at her surprisingly.

"Believe me, she is the best thing which happened to you Dante. You and her, are made for each other. You both look complete with each other. Never let her go away from you, Dante" Mom said and caressed my cheek.

"And confess your feelings to her soon. Don't wait and don't let her wait, okay" Mom said and smiled at me to which I smiled a little.

When mom went away I smiled at myself. Crystal is indeed the best thing happened to me. And I was actually planning to confess my feelings to her but now when mom said this, I want to do this just right now but I will not. I will wait for the correct time which is two weeks later, on her birthday.

I can't wait for her birthday.
