Chapter 35

Crystal's pov

- Hours later -

I woke up with the worst feeling ever. I covered my mouth with my palm and rushed inside the washroom and once again puked my guts out. After that I gargled my mouth and left the washroom.

Once I was done I decided to bath as I was feeling disgusting with all the puking things.

I went towards the wardrobe and pulled my clothes and towel and again went back to the washroom.

After the bath I was feeling slightly better so I decided to check my phone.

There were some messages from Martin, Mr Jenner and my friends and surprisingly from Ashely's too.

Nowadays she is being really clingy.

I frowned at that and checked everyone's message and replied them.

At last I opened Ashely's message to see that she was asking about my whereabouts. I rolled my eyes and decided to ignore her message.

After that I placed my phone in the side table. While doing that, I saw the medicine which Dante bought yesterday for me.

I instantly remembered Dante's rude words and threw that medicine away from me.

Asshole.

I'm not going to talk to him ever again now. What does he think of himself? How dare he talk to me like that?

Does he think that I got sick purposely to trouble him or his family? Idiot.

I was surprised when all of a sudden I felt something wet on my palm. I looked at my palm and realised that the wet thing are my tears.

When did I start crying?

I shook my head at myself and wiped my tears off my cheeks but they again start pouring and just like that I start sobbing loudly.

"Asshole" I cursed Dante while sobbing.

It's not like someone has snapped at me for the first time. It just I didn't expected Dante to snap at me that too when I'm sick.

"Correction. We are the tired one here. You were busy sleeping in the hospital bed whereas we all were awake almost whole night because of you and your carelessness"

Again his words rings in my ears to which I cried more.

"Just few days back I realised that I have feelings for him and now he did this" I muttered slowly.

Am I a burden for him?

Of course I'm. Because of me, Dante and his family were worried. Because of me they couldn't sleep yesterday. Because of me they had to spent their hard earned money yesterday.

It's all my fault. I shouldn't have stayed here. But not anymore. I'll go back to my place. Yes.

With this thought I got up from the bed and went towards the wardrobe and opened that. I pulled out my luggage bag and placed that in my bed before packing my clothes.

I was in middle of my packing when the door opened and someone entered inside.

Well not someone else but, Dante. His eyes went wide when he saw me packing my stuffs.

I glared him hard and continued packing my stuffs.

"Crystal what the hell are you doing?" Dante asked and rushed towards me.

"Stop doing that" He said and pulled my hands away from the luggage.

"What the hell are you doing?" I said the exact same sentence and glared him.

"Crystal stop whatever you're doing right now" He said in warning tone pointing his index finger to me.

"Why?" I asked angrily and moved away from him to pack my stuffs.

"Crystal, stop being stubborn and quit packing" Dante said angrily to which I glared him hard.

"You're no-one to order me" I said crossing my arms across my chest.

"Crystal don't" He said slowly yet dangerously.

Looking at his angry face, my eyes welled up. Soon his angry face turned concerned. He rushed towards me and hugged me tight.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry" He kept chanted those words to which I cried more.

"I-I hate you" I cried hugging him tight.

"You're the worst person I have ever come across" I said and cried more.

"You're arrogant".

"Asshole".

"Rude".

" Emotionless jerk".

I kept cursing him whereas he was smoothing my hairs softly.

"That's it?" He asked when I finished my rant and chuckled.

Breaking the hug I slapped his chest and glared him hard.

"I hate you" I said slowly and once again moved towards my luggage but suddenly he back hugged me.

"I'm sorry, Crystal. I'm really sorry. Please don't leave" He said hugging me tightly.

"Because of me you and your family were worried yesterday, right? Then why are you stopping me? Let me go" I said and tried to break the hug.

"First thing, they are not just my family, they are yours too and second I'm sorry" He said softly.

"I'm sorry for being rude to you. I swear I didn't wanted to yell at you but last night you refused to visit the doctor and later you fainted and looked really pale and weak. You being careless about your health angered me. Seeing you like that hurts me, Crystal" He said breaking the hug and stood in front of me and caressed my cheeks a little.

"Believe me everytime I hurt you, I got hurt too. I swear I tried to stop myself but I was unable to stop myself. I'm sorry. I'm really, really, really sorry and I promise I will not repeat that" He said and cupped my face softly and kissed my forehead.

His mere action caused something in my heart. I felt thousands of butterflies dancing in my tummy after his one soft kiss.

"You look cute when you blush" Dante said and caressed both my cheeks and leter wiped my tears off my cheeks.

"Don't cry. Tears don't look good on you" He said softly to which I nodded.

"You were really rude" I said and sniffed a little to which he nodded and once again apologized to me.

"Let me get you something to eat" He said but I shook my head at him.

"Crystal" He said in a warning tone.

"Please. I just puked. I can't eat anything. I promise I'll eat later" I said to which he nodded in understanding.

"Fine. Sit on the other side of bed. I'll unpack your stuffs" He said softly.

"No" I said suddenly to which he looked at me sharply.

"You're not leaving" Dante said to which I rolled my eyes at him.

"Crystal, I'm serious. I'm not letting you go anywhere. I have already apologized to you and I'm ready to do that again and again but I won't let you go" He said angrily.

"But because of me you and your fam.."

"Crystal please. They are your family too and I'm sorry for my words. I shouldn't have said those things to you. But please don't go, please" He said sincerely to which I smiled a little.

Seeing my smile, he sighed in relief and once again told me to sit. I nodded and sat myself in the bed whereas he started shifting my stuffs in my wardrobe.

Damn. This man is hot af!

He is just shifting my stuffs from one place to another but still managed to look like a model straight out of the magazine.

Now that I noticed he is wearing a black t-shirt and shorts which makes him look hotter.

Don't mind but I like guys in shorts with shirts though he is wearing a t-shirt but that's still ok for my eyes.

Suddenly something snapped in my mind and I instantly checked my phone.

11:21 AM.

"Hey, you didn't went to work?" I asked to which he turned to me smiled brightly at me.

Damn his smile.

"No, my wife is sick today so I decided to stay at home and look after her" He said with a teasing smile to which I blushed a little and looked away from him.

I heard his chuckle and blushed more.

- After some time -

Once he was done, he came and sat next to me and smiled at me.

"You scared me last night" Dante said with a chuckle.

"I'm sorry for scaring you but I really thought that I'll be fine after the rest" I said with a small smile.

"Never do that again, hm" He said to which I nodded with a smile.

"And one more thing, although I'm not going to shout at you ever again but if someday I do, so instead of packing your stuffs and leaving me, you better beat the shit out of me until I get my senses back, okay!" He said to which I start laughing loudly.

"Believe me I was planning to beat you in hospital itself" I said with a chuckle to which he laughed.

"Hungry?" He asked to which I made faces at him.

"Crystal" He said in a warning tone to which I whined like a child.

"I'm still not feeling good" I said with a bitter face.

"But you have to take your medicines" He said softly.

"Ok fine but don't get too much food for me" I said to which he nodded and left the room.

Ugh. I hate foods.

After few minutes, Dante came back with tray in his hands and sat beside me.

Tomato soup.

I smiled a little at him and start having that without any complaints.

Well I love tomato soup.

Once I was finished, he passed me the medicines and water to which I flashed him a grateful smile.

After that, we both started talking randomly when he once again asked me about the food which I had yesterday.

"Doctor said that you ate something really unhygienic but mom and our chef always prioritize hygiene. And even if the chef made some mistake, it was only you who got sick whereas we all are fine. So, do you think you ate something other than homemade food yesterday?" He asked giving me a curious look to which I shrugged my shoulders.

"Maybe. I mean yes I do eat lunch in cafeteria in my college" I said and suddenly realised that I ate my lunch yesterday in cafeteria.

"Oh yes I did. I did ate my lunch yesterday" I said looking at him.

"And after lunch only my stomach started aching badly" I said with a frown.

"But I always eat my lunch from cafeteria but I never got sick before" I said looking at him.

"Also..."

I was cut off by my phone notification sound. I checked my phone to see that Mr Jenner wished me for my health. I thanked him and was about to leave the phone but I accidentally typed into Ashley's dm.

Ashley.

All of a sudden I remembered that yesterday Ashley got me my food and she even offered me water when I was sick and the water was sour and also that she was smirking at me all the time I saw her. Not to forget, she was being extra clingy with me nowadays and kept asking me to hangout with her which she never did before. And all these things started when Maddison came as a guest in my college.

"I really want Dante's wife to die in the cruelest death ever".

"And after her death, Dante will marry his first love, Maddison".

These were the words which Ashley said about Dante's wife who is me.

Does she knows something about me being Dante's wife? Is Maddison the one who encouraged her? Are these stuffs are just a coincidence?

My eyes widened in shock when I realised that maybe Ashley was the one who did something with my food.

"Crystal" Suddenly Dante clicked his fingers in front of me.

"What happened? You look lost" He said to which I looked at him.

I have to tell him. I can't hide this from him because if Ashley knows something, she can definitely blackmail us with that.

"Maybe I know something" I said to which he raised his brows.

"What is that 'something'?" He asked softly.

"Yesterday after ordering my food I sat in the bench and was waiting for my food. But instead of the worker, Ashley gave me the food and even offered water which was sour" I said looking at him.

"Ashley?" He asked with a frown.

"A friend" I said looking down at my lap.

"You think she can do something like that to you?" He asked softly.

"Not to me but she can definitely do something like that to Dante's wife" I said looking directly in his eyes.

"Huh?" He gave me a confused look to which I sighed and told him everything about Ashley's obsession with Maddison, her dream couple ship, her hate towards Dante's wife and her strange and suspicious behavior after Maddison's visit.

After the information Dante looked shocked. He looked at me and tried to say something but closed his mouth.

"Dante" I called him to which he again looked at me and this time hugged me tightly, like really tight.

"D-dante. I-I can't breathe" I said patting his back a little to which he instantly broke the hug and cupped my face.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry" He said with guilt.

"Because of me you're suffering" He said slowly to which I shook my head at him.

"No Dante. It's not because of you. If my doubt is correct and Ashley actually did something like that so it's her and only and only her who is to blamed. Don't blame yourself" I said with a small smile.

"But why didn't you told me this before?" He asked with a frown.

"Honestly I don't know" I said to which he shook his head in disbelief.

"Okay I'm forgiving you this one last time but from now onwards you will tell me everything okay" He said to which I nodded.

"Now, give me Ashley's number. I'll ask Martin to gather all the information about her" He said to which I nodded and gave him Ashley's number.

"Now one more thing" He said looking intentionally at me.

"What?" I asked with a frown.

"You're not going to study in that college anymore. I'll enroll you in American Institute" He said to which I looked at him in shock.

"Dante I'm not changing my college. That too for American Institute. That college is way too expensive and I can't afford that. Bedside there is no problem in my college" I said crossing my arms across my chest.

"Crystal please try to understand. American Institute has more facilities and is much more safer than your current college" He said but I shook my head at him.

"Dante we are not even sure about Ashley's involvement and you're asking me to change college that too because of that one person?" I asked angrily.

"Crystal listen. I know we are not sure about Ashley but what if she is the involved with those things? What if she knows that you're my wife and she spreads that news to everyone. You can't even imagine the crowd which will gather around you. You'll be surrounded with hundreds of peoples who will kill your self esteem with just their mean questions only. But in American Institute, there are too much securities and they will protect you if something goes wrong" Dante said in a calm voice.

"But that place is way too expensive" I whined.

"Crystal, you're my wife, my responsibility. Being your husband, it's my duty to look after you and your needs. So please don't think much about the money. It's on me" He said but I shook my head at him.

"No, Dante.."

"Crystal, please" Dante said cutting me in-between.

"Crystal please try to understand that this is for your safety only. I don't want someone to hurt you" He said with urgency.

"I know you're an independent person but please let me look after you and your needs, please" Dante said in such tone which I couldn't say no to.

"Okay but I'll pay half and you will pay half" I said to which he sighed but nodded.

"Okay fine. I don't think I can win after you" He said with a chuckle.

"Of course you can't" I said flipping my hairs dramatically to which he laughed at me.

"By the way when did you became my husband, hm?" I asked teasingly.

"Um..the day we got married" Dante replied in a duh tone to which I started laughing loudly at him.

"You're stupid" Dante said narrowing his gaze at me.

"No actually you're stupid. I asked that 'husband' question in different manner" I said shaking my head at him.

"Whatever I'm leaving now. I have to talk to Martin. You better take rest" He said in a warning tone and went away. I smiled at his retreating figure.

Husband, it is.
