Chapter 40

Crystal's pov

- Few days later -

"Rise and shine" I smile hearing the familiar voice of Dante and opened my eyes slowly.

"Good morning, beautiful" Dante said kissing my forehead to which my smile widened in happiness. I looked at his attire and sighed happily.

He was dressed in purple color checked shirt and black pants with top few buttons of his shirt opens. His shirt sleeves were rolled up till his elbows and a black apple Watch was in his wrist. And unlike normal days, today his hairs were not gelled perfectly instead they were messed up all over his forehead.

What a sight!

"Good morning Dante" I said and got off the bed and pecked his both cheeks softly.

Dante smiled at me and caressed my cheeks a little.

"But hey, you're already going to office?" I asked looking at the watch which was showing 8:10 Am.

"Yes actually I have some pending works so I'm leaving earlier today. Just came here to wake you up" Dante said with a charming smile.

"By the way, you're looking beautiful, Crystal" He said with a smile to which I blushed a little.

"And when you blush, you look more beautiful" He said with a wink.

"Oh shut up. Don't you have to go to work?" I asked slapping his arms a little.

"Yes I have to go" Dante said softly and pulled me towards him by my waist.

"But honestly I don't want to go anywhere. I just want to spent my time here, with you" He said cheekily.

"Aww, you're so sweet" I said playfully. "But seriously, go to work" I added making a stern face to which he glared me.

"And you call me a spoilsport" He said shaking his head at me to which I laughed and pushed him away from me.

"Come on mister go to work. Even I have to go somewhere" I said and suddenly his playful face turned serious.

"What? Where? Crystal, if you remember you still have to rest" Dante said seriously.

"I know Dante. I just have to go to my granny's apartment to get some of my documents which I need to scan and then submit to my new university" I said to which he nodded.

So yes, I have finally enrolled myself in new university. Away from Ashley and others. Although I'm done with the admission process but I still need to submit my birth certificate which is in my granny's apartment so today I have to go there and get that.

Also, before my admission me and Dante made a deal that we will pay half of the fees but at the last moment, my asshole of a husband decided to pay whole fees by his own for which I was angry at him but he gave me the justification that I'm his wife, his responsibility and he should be the one fulfilling my needs.

I even tried to return him his money back but he didn't let me and kept on saying that I should save my money and all, as if he will ever going let me use my money. Men and their ego.

Sigh.

"Crystal" Dante suddenly called my name to which I looked at him.

"You better go there with Martin. Don't even think of going there alone, okay" He asked softly to which I nodded.

"I don't want any kind of carelessness from your side" Dante said seriously to which I once again nodded.

"Yes mister. I'll go with Martin. Don't worry" I said and again kissed his cheeks.

"Hmm. And call me if anything goes wrong, okay" He said softly and caressed my cheeks lovingly.

"Yes I will. Now go" I said and again pushed him away from me.

"Why are you throwing me out?" He suddenly ask, looking irritated.

"Maybe because your company is boring" I said in a teasing tone.

"Oh really? But last night you were not letting me go to my room and kept on saying that how much you missed me and wanted to spend some time with me" He said raising his eyebrows.

"I was lying to make you feel good" I said and laughed hard when he suddenly threw a pillow at my face.

"You know you're a mean girl" He said with a pout.

A pout? Dante Knight is pouting? Shit.

"Oh god, you look so cute when you pout" I said laughing and went closer to pinch his cheeks.

"Don't call me cute" He said slapping my arms.

"You can call me sexy and handsome if you want to complement me" He said with a smirk.

"You're full of yourself" I said laughing lightly at him.

"Yes because I know that I'm han.." He stopped in middle as his phone started ringing.

*Skip phone call*

"I'm sorry Crystal but I have to go now" Dante said looking at me sadly to which I nodded.

"Don't go outside before having your breakfast and medicine. I'll call Martin and inform him that he has to take you out today, okay" Dante said to which I nodded.

"Okay then, bye" He said and was about to leave but I stopped him.

"What?" He asked raising his eyebrows.

I smiled and hugged him tightly to which he instantly hugged me back.

After few seconds, we broke the hug and looked at each other.

"And this is how you should say 'Bye' to your wife" I said with a grin.

"I didn't knew that you're this much romantic, hm?" He said in a teasing voice.

I blushed a little and pushed him out of my room.

"Go and come back soon" I said and quickly closed the door and laughed remembering our moment.

- Three hours later -

I smiled when I saw the familiar building where I used to live with my granny after my dad kicked me out from his place.

My eyes filled with tears when I recalled the old days of my childhood which I spent here.

Those days.

I sigh and entered inside the building and went towards the elevator followed by Martin and one other bodyguard.

When I was about to enter inside the elevator, one of my neighbor came to me and hugged me.

"Crystal, oh my God. Where were you?" Selena, a woman in her early forties asked after breaking the hug.

"Selena hey. How are you?" I asked with a smile.

"I'm good but where were you and of course how are you?" She asked showing her perfect 32.

"I'm good and I was living at my friend's place." I said lying about the living part.

"At your friend's house? Is that because of those weird couple?" She asked looking concerned to which I raised my eyebrows at her.

"Weird couple? What are you talking about?" I asked confusingly.

"You don't know anything?" She asked to which I shook my head at her.

"Actually from past one month a couple is coming here almost every second day and forcing everyone to open your flat or to call you as they want their house back" She said to which I frowned.

"I didn't understand anything, Selena" I said frowning.

"I'm saying that a couple is claiming that your granny's flat is theirs. They are the official owner of that flat. And since then they are trying to get your number from us but we haven't given them your number" She said and my eyes went wide in shock.

Wth?

"They even came yesterday too and was troubling us for your number. Though we didn't gave them your number but were thinking of calling you today itself but you yourself came so I kind of thought that you already knew about this and that's why you were away from so many days" She completed to which I nodded.

"My granny had just one daughter which was my mom, who is dead long back. My granny too is dead so technically I'm the owner of that flat now. Who is that idiot claiming my house to be his or her?" I asked angrily to which Selena just shrugged her shoulders.

Now what's this new problem?

"Do you know their name?" I asked to which she nodded.

"Though I don't know their full name. I only knows their first name" She said to which I nodded, encouraging her to continue.

"Something like Avan and Kate" She said to which I gasped in surprise.

"What?" I yelled surprisingly.

My dad and his second wife? Wtf?

"You know them?" Selena asked looking at my expressions to which I nodded.

"My dad and step mother" I said and this time she gasped in surprise.

"That motherfucker who cheated on Khloe and abandoned you because of his new wife?" She asked shockingly to which I nodded.

"Oh Lord, how disgusting is that man? First he abandoned you and kicked you out from your own house and now he wants your another house. Such a vile creature he is" Selena said disgustingly.

"But hey, don't worry sweetie, we all are with you. If he comes again, we will not leave him, okay" She said lovingly to which I nodded, too numb to utter another word.

"Do you want me to come with you to your home?" Selena asked again to which I shook my head.

"No it's o-okay. I'll m-manage. Thanks for the offer though" I said to which she nodded.

"Are you sure?" She asked again to which I nodded.

She caressed my hairs lovingly and left the place.

I sighed and entered inside the elevator with Martin and the other bodyguard who were with me from the beginning. And surprisingly I kinda forgot about them but now I'm sure Martin will not forget the conversation with my neighbor and will definitely tell Dante about this. I sighed sadly and pressed the button of my floor.
