Chapter 44

Dante's pov

"Mr knight, look here"

"Mr knight how are you feeling? You completed five years in the business industry today"

"What are your future plans?"

"Are you going to do partnership with Kingsleys?"

"Aren't your wife coming today to support you for your big day?"

"Why is your wife still hiding?"

"Is she ill?"

"Why are you alone today?"

I ignored their questions and went inside the hall followed by my bodyguards.

So yeah, today is the day when I completed five years in the business industry. Five years ago I started everything with a scratch and today I'm the CEO.

I won't say that I didn't worked hard to get this position because I did. I worked day and nights to grab this position. When the people's were celebrating Christmas, new year, thanksgiving and many other events, I was working my ass off and now all those hard works has paid off.

I'm enjoying the success. Today every other CEO wants to do partnership with me. Those who used to be my inspiration back then, now I'm their inspiration. Today they die to talk to me for even a few minutes. I don't want to sound arrogant but I'm the most successful CEO of America and I'm so fucking proud of myself.

I smirked a little and made my way inside only to see all my friends, business partners, members of boards, employees, famous businessmen with their wives and girlfriends, and famous media editor's and reporters were present there along with my family, except for my wife.

As soon as they saw me, they all turned to me and bowed their head in front of me to which I nodded.

Soon I made my way towards my parents, ignoring all the greetings.

"Congratulations son. I'm so proud of you" Dad said to which I thanked him and then hugged my mother.

"My baby has grown up" My mom said pinching my cheeks to which I instantly backed off from her and looked at her in horror.

"Mom. BEHAVE. Everyone is watching" I said to which she rolled her eyes at me.

"Annoying prick" I heard Sarah's voice so I turned to her and glared at her but she just smiled at me.

Witch.

"By the way, you're looking really handsome today" Sarah said to which I nodded softly at her.

"My son always look handsome" Mom said with an arrogant smile to which I shook my head at her.

Soon my other guests started filling the hall to which me, dad and Ashton decided to welcome them.

I was busy talking with one of my business partner when I heard someone's calling my name.

I turned around to see my dad's friend's son John mahfud was there smiling at me. I smiled back at him but the minute my gaze wandered at his left side, my mood soured.

He's here with.. Maddison?

"Excuse me" I said to my business partner and walked towards John, all this while glaring at Maddison who is smirking.

"John" I greeted him with a handshake.

"Dante. Congratulations man. I'm so proud of you" He said with a genuine smile to which I nodded.

"By the way meet Maddison Kingsley. She is my date for tonight" John said squeezing Maddison's waist.

Out of so many girls, he decided to get Maddison here? What a bad choice.

"Hello Dante" Maddison whispered in her shrill voice and forwarded her hand at me to which I internally cringed but decided to smile at her.

Of course, there are reporters inside this hall who are desperately waiting for my one wrong move.

"Hello miss Kingsley" I said with a forced smile and shook my hand with her but the audacity of this bitch. She fucking caressed the back of my palm before leaving my hand.

Fucking bitch.

Honestly, I want to bang her or mine head against the wall at this point. Already my mind was filled with various thoughts. I'm already worried about tonight and now this Maddison came. I just hope everything goes well today.

"Uh.. Why don't you both make yourself comfortable? I'll be back soon" I said to which they nodded and went to other direction but Maddison gave me a long look before leaving.

I rolled my eyes at her drama when suddenly my eyes went towards the reporters who was smiling looking at the camera.

Guess who got the content for their news channel today.

I walked towards my parents who were looking at Maddison.

"Dante. What is she doing here?" Mom asked with a smile but I knew she is not at all happy.

"She is John's date for tonight" I said with a forced smile.

"I can't believe this" Mom said with an extra big smile.

"I just wish she doesn't create any problem tonight" Dad said to which I nodded.

"And if she did anything bad, I won't leave her" Mom said with a forced smile.

"We have to be extra careful tonight" Dad said to which we all nodded and looked back at Maddison direction who is looking at us only.

Damn!

She whispered something in John's ear and then got up from her seat and made her way towards us.

"Let's go and dance, Dante" Mom said as soon as Maddison came near us.

And without waiting for my answer, my mom caught my hand and lead us towards the dance floor where people's were dancing already, along with my brother and Sarah.

"Seriously mom" I asked chuckling to which she nodded with a smirk.

"Today is a big day for you. You think I will let that girl ruin your day?" She asked to which I shook my head and started dancing with her.

"Hey, did you called Crystal? Where is she?" Mom asked softly.

"I did. She is on her way. But mom do you think that Crystal should come here after Maddison's arrival?" I asked and twirled her a little.

Last time when Crystal and Maddison were together, Maddison almost killed her. I can't take the risk now. Though this time we all are here but I can't help but get worried about Crystal.

I don't want her to get hurt again.

"Don't worry we all are here. We will protect Crystal. And this time if this Maddison tries anything wrong, I won't leave her" Mom said with a smile.

I once again twirled her to which she giggled like a school girl.

"Mom, I always wanted to ask you this one question but never got the chance. Can I ask you now?" I asked to which she nodded.

"I always wondered why do you like Crystal so much? From the very first day, you have taken a liking on her, why?" I asked slowly.

"You wanna know why?" She asked raising her eyebrows to which I nodded.

"Because she has the angel aura around her. Everytime I look at her, I see an angel. The first time when I saw her, I knew she has a pure heart. She has always been honest to me. The first time I saw you both together at altar, I knew that you both will be a perfect match together. And that was the day I knew that you both will actually live together for the rest of your life instead of getting divorce which your dad suggested that time" Mom said with a smile.

"And the most important reason is that she saved your ass and ears from Maddison and her shrilly voice" She said to which we both laughed.

"You and your hate for Maddison's voice..." I said laughing to which she cringed.

"Don't tell me that you didn't had problem with her voice. Everytime I used to listen her voice, my ears used to hurt. Oh god what a shrilly voice she has got" Mom said making a hurt face to which I laughed again.

"Seriously mom? Stop it now" I said with a grin.

Once the song was finished we made our way towards the corner, away from Maddison. My mom then went away with her friends.

I was about to go towards my father when my phone ringed.

Martin.

I decided to go away from the crowd to some scheduled place.

"Yes Martin" I asked reciveing the phone.

"Mr knight. I have almost reached there but Crystal has seen the news which says that Maddison Kingsley is in the party too. Where do you want me to drop Crystal, at the party or at the home?" I heard Martin's voice from the other side and sighed.

"Drop her here. And tell her that she don't have to worry. We all are here" I said to which he hummed and ended the phone before saying 'okay Mr knight' to me.

Maddison is seriously a headache. I thought and turned around to leave but stopped when I saw Maddison standing there with a smile.

Seeing her I remembered the day when Crystal was in hospital, injured. Because this bitch couldn't control her jealousy and lust for money.

I clenched my jaw angrily and walked past her but she grabbed my hand. I yanked my hand away from her grip and glared at her hard.

"What do you want?" I asked griting my teeth.

"I want you, Dante" She said slowly.

"I miss you Dante. I miss us" She said and tried to grab my hand but I stopped her.

"DON'T" I said angrily to which she flinched a little bit still didn't moved away from my way.

"Dante please. I really love you. I know I did mistake in past but I won't do that again. Please come back to me" She said shedding some crocodile tears.

"Are you really this dumb Maddison?" I asked with a chuckle.

"We both know that you and your family can only love money and power. You all are way to selfish to love some other person" I said sarcastically and moved away from her but she again came in front of me.

"I really love you Dante. My feelings for you are genuine" She said angrily.

"Tsk tsk. Too bad. I don't love you. I'm a married man and I love my wife. You are nothing but an enemy to me who dared to hurt my wife" I said in a slow but dangerous voice which made her scared.

"Y-you love her?" She asked accusingly to which I smirked at her.

"Y-you don't love her. You can't love her" Maddison said angrily to which I glared at her and left the place but I heard her mumbling something to herself.

I walked towards my father who is talking with some elite businessmans. We were all talking about the business stuffs when some reporters asked me to give them a small interview. I nodded and walked upto them.

"A heartiest congratulations to you Mr knight for completing five years in business industry" One of them said to which I nodded.

"How do you feel about your success?" Another one asked.

"I'm feeling what any other normal person will feel about their success" I said to which they chuckled.

"Who would you give the credit of your success?" Someone asked again.

"Everyone who believed in me. Be it my father, brother, my business partners or clients. They all believed in me and my ideas which caused me immense motivation to work hard and being someone who I am today" I smiled at them.

"If you have to give motivation to other new businessmans, what would it be?" The first one asked me.

"I'll only say that believe in yourself and focus on your goals" I said to which they nodded.

With this they kept on asking me questions about my journey but at last they asked me about my wife, Crystal.

"Mr knight today is such a big day for you. Don't you think it's a good day to show your wife's face to us? Almost everyone wants to see your wife. Ever since you have been married, it's a question that who is your wife and how she looks like?" One of them said to which I sighed.

"I'll only say that have some patience" I said with a tight smile.

"Now excuse me" With this I walked away from them.

Ashton pulled me with him towards another group of businessmen. We all started talking about some deal when suddenly my heart stopped. I started feeling giddy but in a good way. Weird. And suddenly I felt someone's gaze on me.

I instantly turned a little towards the entrance to see that Crystal was standing there, looking beautiful as ever.

She has worn a beautiful blue color full sleeve princess gown with a diamond necklace and earrings which I gifted her last night. Her hairs were styled perfectly in a french bun. Her face was decorated with makeup but not too much. In short she looked beautiful.

She saw me looking at her and blushed a little. I internally laughed at her cuteness and walked towards her, ignoring everyone.

When I finally reached her, I took a minute to admire her beauty. She's so beautiful and she's mine.

"You're looking gorgeous baby" I said to which she blushed more. I caressed her cheek before forwarding my hand to her.

"Are you sure?" She asked softly.

"Hundred and ten percent sure" I said with a smile to which she nodded and finally caught my hand.

Just as I turned towards the crowd I saw that everyone were already looking at us, especially Crystal and our entwined fingers.

I held her hand tightly and confidentially walked towards the stage along with Crystal.

"Who is she?"

"Is she his wife?"

"I'm sure she's a rich heiress"

"She is hot"

"What's her name?"

I heard so many comments but ignored them. When we finally reached the stage I asked someone to pass me the mic.

Now the spotlight were on us. Everyone was looking at us impatiently, waiting for my speech.

I turned a little towards Crystal to see that she was nervous. I leaned closer and kissed her cheek. I heard several gasps but ignored them.

"Don't get nervous. I'm here with you, okay" I whispered in her ear to which she nodded with a smile. I smiled back at her and faced the crowd.

Sigh.

"I wanted to do this before but was waiting for the perfect time. But I realised that today is that lucky day when I finally show my precious person to the world. Although most of you must have guessed it by now but I still want to confirm it for you" I said chuckling a little.

"Here, I'm officially introducing you to the love of my life, my wife, Crystal Dante Knight" I said and kissed Crystal in front of everyone to which everyone clapped and hooted for us.
