Chapter 46

Crystal's pov

When the bartender gave the drink to Maddison, I turned around to face her and smiled looking at her angry eyes.

"Maddison, hi. How are you doing? I hope you're enjoying My husband's success party, right?" I said in a chirpy voice to which her eyes turned red in anger but she still smiled back at me.

"Of course, it's My Dante's party. How can I not enjoy that" She said, trying to sound sarcastic but nope, she ain't sarcastic. Delusional is the correct word for her.

I rolled my eyes at her to which my gaze wandered at Martin who was just behind us, waiting for Maddison's one wrong move. I blinked my eyes in assurance at him to which he nodded.

"Your Dante? When did it happen?" I asked amusingly.

"Long back. Before you came into the picture" Maddison said chuckling.

"Exactly. You are past and I'm the present" I smiled back at her.

"Dante still loves me. He can never be yours" Maddison replied in a mocking tone.

"Really? But I was informed that you were forced on him. He never loved you, not even liked you" I said with a smile.

"But hey, you wanna know a secret?" I said with fake excitement to which she narrowed her eyes at me.

"Dante loves me and no I'm not lying like you. He really loves me" I chirped happily and saw her getting pissed.

"He doesn't. He lied in front of everyone to save you from the embarrassment. He doesn't even care for you" Maddison said with a smirk and shook her head in disbelief.

"Are you serious? You are contradicting your own statement. You just said that Dante lied to save me from the embarrassment but on the other hand you are saying that Dante doesn't care for me?" I asked making a mocking tone.

"But anyways, Dante loves me and everyone knows that. And guess what, not just Dante but his entire family who are now my family as well loves me and cares for me" I said in a sweet voice and looked around to see that a few reporters were clicking my picture with Maddison.

I guess Maddison noticed that too, because she suddenly started smiling widely at me.

"Nobody loves you Crystal, Nobody. Your own father disowned you and never looked back at you until he got himself in trouble and needed your help. Think Crystal, think. If your own father doesn't love you, how can someone else love you. They all are faking everything to save their reputation. Once everything will be normal, they'll kick you out of their lives. You are nothing but just an unwanted burden on them" Maddison said with a huge smile.

I chuckled at her.

"How can you be so delusional Maddison? In which world you're living where you can't even see the truth. I agree that my father doesn't love or care for me but Dante and his family truly loves me. Their love does reflect in their eyes. You are blind if you can't see that" I said in amusement.

"Also I think it's high time now that you seriously need some professional help" I said softly.

"But I know that professional help costs a lot and now that your family is loosing their money so you might not be able to afford the help but don't worry I'll ask my mother in law to donate some money to you so that you can take some help. You know she believes in charity a lot and she always helps people in need. Although she doesn't like you and might say no to you but if I ask her, she won't say no as you know she really loves me" I said with a grin and saw Maddison clenching her jaw in anger.

"But hey, she never liked you right? But we can't blame her now, can we?" I asked raising my eyebrows playfully at her.

"One day you'll regret talking back to me, Crystal" Maddison said slowly yet dangerously.

"The thing is, that you are in no position to blackmail me, Maddison" I replied in a calm tone.

"In the past you and your family have tried to harm me but here, I'm giving you a little warning. Stay away from me. Try something to harm me or defame me, I'll make you regret your existence and I promise, you won't like that" I said with a glare but saw a reporter coming near to listen to our conversation.

I gave a big smile to Maddison and then walked towards Sarah.

"What happened? What was she saying?" Sarah asked as soon as I went near her.

"Nothing. Just her usual crap" I said shaking my head.

"That bitc-"

"Sarah it's okay. Let it be" I stopped her to which she glared at me for a minute but then smiled at me.

Soon we busied each other in gossips when all of a sudden, a hand came in front of me.

I looked ahead to see that Dante was standing there with a dashing smile on his face.

"Dance?" He asked to which I blushed a little but nodded my head.

"Aww my cute love birds" I heard Sarah's gushing over us but couldn't see her as Dante quickly dragged me towards the dance floor.

We stood in the middle of dance floor where other couples were already dancing.

Dante placed his hands on my waist whereas I placed my hand on his shoulder and started moving my body in slow rhythm, enjoying the moment.

"You're looking really beautiful" Dante chirped softly to which I blushed again.

"Thanks. And you're looking dashing" I said softly to which he smirked and pulled me more closer to him.

"Really?" He asked with a smirk to which I nodded.

He smiled at me and kissed my forehead softly and caressed the sides of my waist.

"I hope you aren't feeling scared or anything" He asked with concern to which I shook my head at him.

"Nope. Everything is good. And thank you for being with me" I said happily to which he nodded.

"I'm glad that you are not feeling scared. I remember during Sarah's time, she was so nervous and scared about everything. Poor girl couldn't even speak anything" Dante said softly to which I nodded.

"But now she has got used to everything" Dante added shortly.

"I can see that" I said and chuckled when I saw Sarah and Ashton dancing behind Dante.

Dante suddenly twirled me and now my back was facing him. He back hugged me and continued dancing in the same position.

Soon the song came to an end. We both made our way towards his parents who were watching us with a smile on their faces.

"My babies" Mom said dramatically and hugged me and Dante to which we both chuckled at her.

"You two rocked the stage" Mom said breaking the hug.

"Yeah and now it's time to rock the interview" Dad said to which I frowned.

"Interview?" I asked to which he nodded.

"Yeah I think it's time for you guys to interact with the reporters" Dad said and suddenly my heart started beating rapidly.

"Crystal I know it's too much for you but I guess you both have to do that so that reporters doesn't write shits about your relation" He said in a calm voice.

I looked at Dante who was already looking at me, waiting for my approval.

"B- but how is that necessary? You can say that I'm not a camera person and want to keep my life a secret. Then maybe they won't bother me" I said looking at everyone.

"This won't work. You have to give one interview for sure. Or else they won't stop their narrations" Dad said strictly.

"But what if I mess up?" I asked slowly.

"You won't Crystal. We all trust you. And Dante will be there with you. He will protect you if anything goes wrong" Dad said but I was still unconvinced.

"Crystal, try to understand please. This is really important or else I wouldn't have forced you" Dad said firmly.

I sighed in annoyance but nonetheless nodded my head in yes.

"Alright then" Dad clapped his hands in excitement and called mr jenner and asked him to arrange the conference.

In the meantime, I turned towards Dante and told him the lie about our first meeting which I said in front of my colleagues to which he nodded.

"First of all congratulations Mr and Mrs knight for your wedding" A reporter said to which we both nodded in response.

"So Mr and Mrs knight, when and where did you two meet for the first time" Another one asked but he was looking mainly at me as if wanting my answer.

I sighed mentally and decided to answer him the lie which I told my colleagues.

"We both met each other at our mutual friend's wedding two years back" I said with a smile.

"What's his or her name?" Someone from the crowd asked to which I turned towards Dante.

"Our friend is not a public figure and he wish to be away from the limelight so we are sorry but we can't reveal his name" Dante lied smoothly.

"When did you two started dating?" Again a question came and I cringed inwardly.

"We started dating one and half year ago" Dante replied with a tight smile.

"But we clearly remember that a year ago you were spotted a lot with Maddison Kingsley. Now you are saying that you were dating Mrs knight at that so were you double dating at that time" The first reporter asked with narrowing gaze.

"Or were you cheating on Mrs knight with Maddison Kingsley?" He added.

I could feel Dante getting angry so I instantly clutched his palm, under the table to calm him.

"I guess I have always been vocal about the fact that I and Maddison never dated or neither I liked her. For me, it was always my wife Crystal. I never thought about Maddison in romantic way. Yes it was true that my and her grandfather made the contract about us to get married but there was a clause too which stated that we can marry someone else if we have someone else in our life and clearly we both had other persons in our life" Dante said sternly.

"I never called Maddison, neither I invited her in any of the balls which I attended. She herself tried to came in my life despite having a boyfriend for money and fame. So I don't think it was my fault if you spotted us together" Dante added.

"And before you people twist my statements and write something different in your articles, I'm once again clearing the fact that I never ever dated Maddison and neither I cheated my wife" He said sternly.

For a second, everything went silent but again they started their questions.

"But if you never dated Maddison Kingsley then why you never clarified before?" Someone amongst the crowd asked to which Dante looked pissed.

"I suggest you to do the complete research before taking someone's interview" Dante said getting little angry but soon changed his tone.

"Not for once I have said that I dated Maddison. It was always her who said this so I suggest you to ask her why she lied despite having a guy in her life" Dante replied shaking his head.

"Mr knight, don't you think that you're character shaming miss Kingsley" The first reporter asked again.

Dante sighed rubbing his forehead in annoyance but once again looked at him, but this time with a tight smile.

"Didn't you character shamed me a few minutes ago by calling me a cheater?" Dante asked to which I heard few chuckles.

"You don't know me personally but still had the audacity to call me a cheater or a two timer but me when I personally know Maddison and her family can't say a word against them which is basically the truth?" Dante said raising his eyebrows to which he nodded.

"But if Miss Kingsley is really that bad then why did you invite her and why Mrs knight was talking to her?" A woman asked looking at me, waiting for me to explain.

"Well, miss Kingsley is the date of one of our guest" This time I replied and smiled at that woman.

"And about me talking with miss Kingsley is nothing but a basic human gesture. She is a guest here in my husband's success party, of course I'll greet her warmly like I did with others" I said with a bright smile to which she nodded.

"So Mrs knight, now that you have finally came in limelight, can we expect more of you from now on?" Another person asked in a strict business tone.

"Honestly, no. I'm a very private person and I would always be the one. Though I will always attend my husband's and family parties but apart from that, nothing. I would happily live under a rock, away from all the flash lights" I said in a calm tone.

"Very well then, but-"

Our interview continued for another half an hour. After that, we both again posed a few pictures with each other.

After the interview, we went back to the party and enjoyed the night and after that we finally went back to our home
