Chapter 4

Crystal's pov

Scared, my eyes went towards oldie who's looking at me with so much anger and hatred. His bloodshot red eyes is making me shiver in fear. Somehow I realised that he is not gonna spare me. He will make me pay for my deeds.

Gulping hard I tried to look away from him but I couldn't. All of a sudden Mrs Knight came in between us and glared him. She then looked at me and caressed my cheek lovingly.

"We won't let him hurt you, don't fear him" She chirped softly and I nodded even though I'm still not convinced.

"Simon, let's talk maturely. We can solve this problem" Maddison's dad said to Mr Knight.

"First thing, their is nothing to solve and second how are you gonna solve this, huh?" Mr Knight said angrily. Yb

"Listen Simon.."

"It's Mr Knight for you" Mr Knight cut him off angrily.

"Oh ok. But please don't terminate the contract" Maddison's dad begged him but Mr Knight gave him deaf ears.

"Listen Mr Knight, Maddison is not someone who will run away from her marriage. I'm sure Maddison must be stuck somewhere. Let's wait for her and let them get married" Maddison's mom tried to convince them.

She's shameless.

"My son is not gonna marry your daughter, so don't even try" Mrs Knight yelled at her.

"You can't do this to us, to Maddison. She love Dante" Maddison's mom cried.

"Yeah? That explain why she ran away to meet another guy just before her marriage?" Mrs Knight taunts her.

"She will be here soon" She tried convincing them.

"Mr Knight, everyone out their knows that today Dante and Maddison were going to marry. If they didn't get married, our reputation will be ruined. Please try to understand" Maddison's mom said looking at them.

"Just get out of here" Mrs Knight yelled at her.

"You can't do this to us" Maddison's mom said raising her voice.

"We can" Mrs Knight snapped at her. "And yes, you don't have to worry about our reputation. Just think about yours, when everyone will get to know about your deeds. Now leave" Mrs Knight yelled.

Angrily, she turned to me and "You will pay for this" warned me before leaving the room. Her husband too left not before glaring me.

Honestly, I'm not much scared of them. I'm scared of oldie who is still looking at me with hate and anger. I dared to look in his eyes and almost gasp. His eyes held promise. Promise to destroy me. To finish my existence. My happiness. My everything.

His heated gaze is making me question my decision. My decision of exposing his truth to everyone.

Looking at me for last time he made his way outside the room but somehow I knew that this is not the last time I'm seeing him. I somehow knew that I have to face him again.

Sighing I looked around the room. They are looking worried about something.

"Mom Dad, Brittany (Maddison's mom) was right. If this news will go out, our reputation can be effected. Of course it was their fault but media will definitely drag us in this mess, especially Dante" Dante's brother said.

"I don't care about them. My son will not marry that bitch" Mrs Knight greeted her teeths in anger.

"I understand mom. But we have to think something. We just can't let someone ruin our reputation" Dante's brother replied looking little tired.

"But Ashton, eventually they'll get to know about the happenings. What can we do now?" His wife asked him.

Tired by the drama I decided to leave. As soon as I step out of the room, I heard Ashton's voice stopping me.

I stopped looking at him. "Um.. She can help us" Ashton said looking at me. Others looked confused but I somehow knew what he's gonna say. I know this look. Maddison and Oldie had the same look in their faces when they asked me to pretend being the bride.

"How?" Mr Knight asked him.

"Dante can marry her" He said and I almost groaned. His family looked shocked from his answer.

"Again" I muttered angrily.

"Nice one" I said turning around to leave but he held my wrist and dragged me inside the room.

"Are you out of your mind? No actually I think I should ask, are you too out of your mind?" I asked glaring him.

"First my boss, than Maddison, than her family and now you. Why everyone is fuCking blackmailing me today?" I yelled. I'm beyond frustrated now.

"Ashton, what are you even saying?" Mr Knight asked angrily.

"Dad listen, we don't have any other option. Everyone knows that today is Dante's wedding. Be it media, our investors or board members. Dante not getting married will definitely affect our reputation and our business too. And if she and Dante get hitched, there are high chances that people will forget about Maddison and Dante's marriage. They might question for few days but at the end they will forget everything" Ashton uttered causing me to groan.

He then looked at me and sighed.

"And see, you and me, we both know that Kingsleys will not leave you easily, especially Ethan" Ashton said. "And you marrying Dante will keep you away from them and other dangers too" Ashton reasoned but I shook my head.

"I can take care of my own.."

"No, you can't. You have no idea how dangerous they are. We all know now that you have exposed him, he's not gonna be quiet. You have destroyed his dream. His dream to became billionaire. His dream to became the top entrepreneur. You still think that you can save yourself from him?" Ashton said and I became more shocked.

No way in hell he will leave me. But still, Marriage is a big thing.

"But Ashton this is not right. They both don't even know each other. How can they marry each other? They're strangers" Mr Knight asked him.

"Dante and Maddison were also strangers. Dante didn't even acknowledged her presence for once" Ashton replied.

"Listen Ashton Knight, this is my life and you're no one to tell me what to do or what not to. So, keep your advice to yourself. I can take care of myself very well" I said greeting my teeths in anger.

I'm so done with him.

"Hey, wait" Mrs Knight said looking at me.

"Ashton is right" She said to which Mr Knight looked at her, surprisingly.

"Amelia?" Mr Knight said looking at his wife.

"This is the best solution, Simon. This way we can save both. Our reputation and her. *Looking at me* I know you must be thinking that we all are selfish. You helped us and we are using you to save our reputation. But trust me this is the only solution for both our problem. You truly have no idea how dangerous and cunning Kingsley's are. They can't hurt us but they'll definitely not spare you. You have helped us by destroying their dream. They will not sit silently. But once you'll be Knight, they will think thousand of times before hurting you" She said causing me to widen my eyes in shock.

"If you want we will not reveal your identity to the world. This way you can easily live your life and you will be safe from the dangers" Ashton said.

I looked down not knowing what to say. Yes, I realised that Oldie is dangerous. But how can I marry a stranger just to save myself from him. Isn't it stupid.

"You saved us by telling us the truth. Now allow us to help you" Mrs Knight said.

"And when everything will be sorted, you guys can apply for divorce" Ashton suggested.

My eyes went to Dante who's looking at me with unknown emotions. But soon he looked away.

"But why do I have to marry? What if I leave this city?" I asked raising my brows.

"Kingsley's clowns are everywhere" This time Dante spoke looking directly in my eyes.

"But what's the guarantee that I'll be safe after marrying him?" I asked narrowing my eyes towards Dante who clenched his jaw in anger.

"We are Knights. The richest and powerful businessmens of NewYork. No one can hurt our family" Ashton said arrogantly and I rolled my eyes.

"But still.. Kingsley's wanted Maddison to marry him. If they got to know that I'm marrying Dante, they'll be more angry on me. They'll definitely hurt me" I spoke annoyingly.

"They can't. Once you will be Knight they won't try to hurt you no matter what" This time Mr Knight said but I shook my head.

"But..."

"No, please. Just listen to us. This way everything will be fine. And Ashton is right. Once everything will be ok you both can apply for divorce. Even after divorce we will protect you, please" Mrs Knight said and I sighed.

"And don't worry. We will not reveal your identity to anyone" Mrs Knight said.

"But what if Kingsley's reveal my identity to someone?" I asked still not convinced.

"They won't" Mr Knight said with confidence and I sighed.

My eyes again went towards Dante who's looking at me with stone face.

How I'm gonna survive with this stone ass man?
