Chapter 52

A.N. : Second last chapter :)

Dante's pov

After a long wait we finally reached the place where Crystal was held captive. I along with the cops got out of the car and started walking towards the building but the cop stopped me.

"Mr knight please don't come inside with us. This could be dangerous" He said to which I glared at him.

"My wife is in danger and you're asking me to stay here" I asked angrily.

"Mr knight please try to understand that this could be really dangerous for you and for mrs knight too. Trust me that mrs knight will be our first priority. We will save her at all the costs" He said to which I nodded.

"You guys stay here with Mr knight" The officer said to other people and went inside with his team.

I kept standing outside the building waiting for Crystal and her well being.

After almost five minutes the officer called one of his officer who was with me and informed him that Crystal has ran away just a few minutes back and asked him to search her.

Hearing this, I instantly started running behind the other guards who were searching Crystal but heard few gunshots which were firing inside the building but I cared less about that thing.

I kept running in different directions, shouting her name along with the cops who were also searching her.

Where are you, Crystal?

"Dante" Everything around me stopped when I heard that voice.

I heard the voice which I was dying to hear from the evening. Crystal.

I turned around to see her looking at me with tearful eyes. I smiled looking at her beautiful face to which she gave me a small smile too and that was the moment I realised that I not only love Crystal but I live her. She's not just my wife but she's my everything. She's the all I want and need and I'll always cherish her.

"Crystal" I whispered her name slowly and was about to run towards her but heard a loud gunshot from behind me and suddenly I saw Crystal's face turned pale. She looked like she was in pain.

"D-Dante" She whispered ever so softly and fell in the ground, clutching her stomach. My eyes went downstairs to see that blood was oozing from her stomach and once again everything around me stopped but this time, in pain and agony.

"Crystal" I yelled in fear and ran towards her and pulled her in my arms.

"Dante" She said my name slowly.

"Crystal. No please don't leave me, please" I yelled in panic when I saw her eyes closing.

"Sir we have to take her to the hospital" I heard someone's voice and nodded. I instantly stood up from my place and started following the cop towards the car.

"Crystal I won't let you go, I won't" I cried while running.

Soon we found our cars and I settled myself in back seat with Crystal while someone started the car.

"Crystal. Crystal please open your eyes, baby. I'm so sorry for being late but please don't give me this punishment" I cried, patting her cheek but got no response.

"Crystal please open your eyes" I cried when I saw that she was bleeding way too much.

I kept my hand on her stomach but that was of no use.

Soon we reached the hospital. I quickly got out of the car and started running towards the emergency section.

"Help" I yelled loudly when a group of nurse came towards me with a strecher. I laid Crystal there and pushed the stretcher.

"Sir you can't come inside" When I was about to enter inside the operation room a nurse stopped me.

"She's my wife" I yelled at her and tried to go inside but she came in my way.

"Sir please this is against the hospital rules" She said making me angry.

"Fuck your rules" I yelled and almost pushed her but few cops came and pulled me away from the operation room.

"Mr knight please let them do there work in peace" One of them said to which I groaned.

I freed myself from there clutch and looked at the closed door.

Crystal, please be okay.

I was about to wipe my tears when my eyes fell on my palm which was red from Crystal's blood.

"I failed to protect you" I muttered slowly and closed my eyes in pain.

"I'm so sorry baby" I muttered and leaned towards the nearby wall for support.

Time skip.

"Dante" I was lost in thoughts when I heard a familiar voice but I didn't had the strength to look at the person.

Soon my mom sat came in front of me and caressed my cheeks but I didn't gave her any reaction.

"Dante" She cried and hugged me but I didn't hugged her back instead I kept looking at the operation room.

"Dante don't worry. She would be fine. She is a one strong girl" Mom said but for the first time her words couldn't calm me.

"Dante, officer told me what happened" I heard dad's voice and nodded, not looking at him.

"Dante, come sit" Mom suddenly pulled me towards a bench and made me sit there.

"Dante please don't cry" Mom said wiping my tears.

"Oh my God" She gasps and pulled my hand towards her.

"Dante you're bleeding" Mom gasps.

"Not mine. It's Crystal's blood" I said without any emotion and looked away from her.

Listening this mom started sobbing and Sarah tried to console her. Ashton sat beside me and tried to console me but I didn't gave a damn about him.

It's easy to console others if you are not the one who is suffering. I groaned looking at the closed door waiting for someone to come out and give me the good news.

"Dante" I groaned when dad came near me.

Don't they understand that I don't want to talk with anyone right now.

"Dante, Martin was the one who fired gun at Crystal" Dad said to which I clenched my fists in anger.

Motherfucker.

"But thankfully he has been arrested and is in prison now. Cops are introgating him" I nodded angrily.

"But during the firing inside the building, Ethan died but his son got saved and he is in prison too" Dad said.

"Don't worry Dante. I'll make sure that they both suffer for the rest of their life" I nodded.

Soon the doctor came out of the room. I quickly stood up from the bench and rushed towards him.

"Doctor, how's my wife?" I asked looking at him with hope.

"Mr knight we have taken out the bullet from your wife's stomach and thankfully she is fine" He said slowly.

"But?" I asked knowing that there's something more to the story. He seemed a little hesitant.

"But unfortunately we couldn't save the baby" He said to which I frowned.

"B-Baby?" I asked in surprise.

"Yes, your wife was two weeks pregnant" I stopped breathing when I hear those words.

Crystal was pregnant?

"S-she was p-pregnant?" I looked up at him in surprise to which he gave me a sympathetic look.

"Yes mr knight. But unfortunately she blead way too much which caused the mess" He said and went inside the operation room as a nurse called him.

Crystal was pregnant. My eyes filled with more tears when I thought about this and this time I couldn't stopped myself from sobbing loudly.

"Dante" Mom rushed towards me and hugged me tightly. This time I hugged her back and started sobbing loudly.

"Mom *sob* mom Crystal was pregnant. I was going to be a father b-but I *sob* my baby died, mom. My baby died. I lost my baby mom. I lost my baby" I sobbed in her embrace.

"D-Dante" She was crying too but tried to stop me from crying but I couldn't stop myself from crying this time.

"Mom, I lost my unborn baby" I cried, hugging her tightly.

"Dante" Ashton came to me and rubbed my back but I didn't looked at him.

"I lost my baby" I cried, feeling sick and helpless.

"I'm a failure, mom. I'm a failure. *sob*  I failed to protect Crystal. I failed to protect my baby. I failed everyone" I cried in my mom's arms.

"Because of me, today Crystal is in hospital" I cried thinking about how Crystal will react when she will got to know that she was pregnant and also lost the baby. She'd be devasted. Noo.

I quickly broke the hug and looked at my mom with fear.

"Mom, Crystal shouldn't know about this thing. We won't tell her that she was pregnant. We won't. She'd be devasted if she got to know about this" I said looking around in panic.

No. I started pacing around in panic and then looked at my family.

"Crystal has already gone through a lot. We won't tell her anything about the baby" I said looking at my family.

"But Dante we have to tell her. It's her right" Sarah said with a frown.

"Just shut up Sarah. What do you want? Crystal to die with a heartbreak? She has suffered a lot. At first she lost her mom then her granny and now our unborn baby. Do you think she will take this thing lightly?" I asked angrily.

"I know my wife very well, Sarah. The minute she will learn about the baby's death, she will start blaming herself for everything. She won't be able to live with that baggage" I said sternly.

"It's not easy for me to lie to her but I have to. Or else I will lost her too" I said and once again broke down in tears.

"Dante is right" Mom said hugging me.

"Dad" Breaking the hug, I walked upto my dad and looked directly in his eyes.

"Martin is the one who caused all these things by firing the gun at Crystal, right?" I asked to which he nodded.

"Call the officers and asked them to not to touch that motherfucker. I will myself torture him to the death" I said griting my teeth in anger to which he nodded.

Dad was about to call the cops when a nurse came out and walked towards us.

"Mr knight, your wife's condition is kinda stable now but she will be up at tomorrow. And here's the list of medicines which she needed. Please get these medicines asap" She said to which I nodded.

I passed that prescription to Ashton and started walking towards the exit when I heard Ashton's voice.

"Dante where are you going?" He asked me.

"To meet Martin" I said angrily and ran towards the exit as fast as I can.

Your time is now over, Martin.

Sitting inside my car I shut the door close and drove towards the prison in full speed.

'We couldn't save your baby'.

'Your wife was two weeks pregnant'.

These words were continuously ringing in my ears causing my blood to boil in anger. All I was thinking about killing Martin but no. I won't let him die this easily. He will have to suffer just like how Crystal is suffering right now. I won't make this easy for him.

Finally I reached the police station. I came out of my car and rushed inside.

"Where is he?" I asked once I saw the senior inspector.

He quickly started showing me a way which I followed. Soon I came close to a dark room. As soon as he switched on the lights, I saw Martin sitting in a corner with a bleeding forehead.

He blinked a few times and then looked at me but instead of fear in his eyes, I saw mischief in his eyes.

"Boss" He grinned at me.

"Motherfucker" I cursed losing my calm and rushed towards him and slapped him and punched his face.

"You fucker how dare you?" I yelled punching his jaw but he just laughed at me.

"You asshole.. Why? Why did you do that? I fucking trusted you with her safety but you..? You destroyed our happy life." I yelled and this time banged his head with the nearby wall to which he groaned in pain.

Satisfied with my actions I kept banging his head to the wall.

"Because of you today Crystal is in hospital fighting for her life. Because of you I lost my unborn baby. Because of you" I yelled and kicked his face causing him to bleed more.

"Mr knight please leave him now" Officer said stopping me.

"Leave me. He fucking hurt my wife and killed my unborn baby. I won't leave him today" I yelled and tried to free myself from his grip.

"C-congratulations for y-your loss, boss" Martin said in a mocking voice after spitting his blood to which my blood boiled in anger.

I finally managed to free myself and went towards him and started beating him but that motherfucker had the audacity to laugh without any fucking guilt.

"Mister knight calm down please. We will take care of this asshole. You just leave him" He said to which I finally left Martin after kicking his face.

"Beat him as much as you can but don't let him die. I want him to live a painful life" I said to which he nodded.

I glared at Martin for the last time and left the place.

Once I was inside the car, I banged my fist at the steering wheel in fury. I can't believe that I trusted a snake for my Crystal's safety. Somehow because of me, Crystal and I lost our baby.

But the question is, why did Martin supported Kingsley's?

Thinking about this I once again went inside the police station.

"I want to talk to him" I said looking at the officer to which he looked little hesitant but then nodded.

I once again went inside and came face to face with Martin who was groaning in pain.

"Why Martin? Why did you do that? I trusted you with Crystal's safety. Why did you betrayed us? Crystal used to consider you her brother then why did you do that?" I asked in a calm tone but from inside I was anything but not calm.

"I was no brother to her. I never considered her my sister" Martin yelled in anger and looked at me with red eyes.

"I fucking loved her. The first time I saw her, I fell in love with her and only her. I wanted her to be mine but she chose you. You. Why? Because you are rich and I'm not" Martin said with venom.

WTF! I looked at him in surprise.

"You're married, Martin" I said angrily.

"Still I fell in love with her" Martin said with a grin.

"But that bitch is just another gold digger slut who fucked you for money" Martin said with disgust.

I got more angry after listening his words for Crystal and punched his jaw.

"You fucker. Despite being married, you fucking fantasied my wife like an asshole and now you have the audacity to abuse my wife?" I shouted fisting his hairs in my palm and pulled them to which he cried in pain.

"You are nothing but a cheating bastard Martin. Because of your obsession you not only just ruined our family but yours too. Your father would have been disgusted with you if he would have been alive" I said leaving him and turned around to leave but stopped midway.

"And if you're thinking that this is the end of your torture then you're wrong. This is just the beginning. I will make your life a living hell and that's my promise to you" I said and left the place with the promise to destroy him for his deeds.
